  1. Pretty rich statement coming from the guy with 'Fire Mike' as his screen name.
  2. Yes, he had the great downfield block that allowed Morgan to score on the long pass play. I can remember at least one target where Lindsey ran an out and the DB made a nice play on the ball to break it up.
  3. Congratulations on finding some balance in your life so your weekend isn't ruined by 21 year old kids.
  4. FIFY Riley looks like a guy who loves him some tomato soup.
  5. Offense/ST: Drew Brown. Dude's going to need to pull a couple of long FGs out of his hindquarters. Defense: Big Mick and Simon Phoenix.
  6. LSU is screwed b/c their starting QB is a guy who couldn't hack it @ Purdue. Also Orgeron is a total moron when it comes to head coaching so there is only so much his coordinators can do. I still have no idea how LSU sucks so bad at recruiting and developing QBs.
  7. Snyder never reached true national prominence until he had elite talent coupled with his excellent coaching. Michael Bishop comes to mind.
  8. Playing for a losing program in college means absolutely zero when it comes to playing in the NFL. The NFL is a meritocracy.
  9. I'm of the opinion that Nebraska definitely needs a HC with experience should Riley get shown the door. That being said, IF (and that's a big if) they decide to go the coordinator route, if you tell me that Nebraska is rolling out a Dave Aranda HC/Matt Canada OC combo I'm not going to totally hate the idea by any means.
  10. Part of me wants to troll you. But every time I do I see Ruxin and picture your posts in Ruxin's voice and I just start laughing instead.
  11. Excellent news. Even if CJ8 plays sparingly, he'll bring a nice jolt of energy. Hopefully he can bring the good juju to rub off on Jackson and Lee. I'll be curious as to how they manage the secondary. As a lot folks here have mentioned, Reed is playing really well right now. I'm not sure if it's feasible to run a bunch of nickel against Wisconsin with the way the Badgers run their offense. This sets Nebraska's secondary up nicely going forward.
  12. The same reasons that coaches leave for different jobs. Money, ego, prestige, money. I'll liken it to Theo Epstein taking over Boston and the Cubs. Both were once proud franchises that couldn't get over the championship hump. Theo was the GM who got them there and now he's a god in both cities. Any competitive AD worth his or her salt has to look at the Nebraska gig and think, 'Dang, if I can turn this ship around, they'll build monuments in my honor (not quite but still).' Will it be hard, absolutely.
  13. Stoops just said a couple days ago that he'll never coach on the college or pro level again. I could see him coaching at the HS level maybe. Now, I have no proof to back this up but I really think Stoops is done. 16 years at Oklahoma has to be the equivalent of 25-30 years at another college in terms of pressure/stress/etc.
  14. Bjork is an interesting name for sure. Not sure how his name will go over with the holier than thou sect. I'm all for buying undervalued and distressed assets and Bjork certainly falls into that category. That being said, if he's a serious candidate that search firm better vet him to an inch of his life. We're talking about going through garbage, etc lol.
  15. Fuente is only 41? Dang, grey hair is a stone killer. EDIT: Good lord, mid 40s and younger dudes rocking the salt and pepper all over the place!
  16. This wasn't specifically directed at you. I didn't feel like parsing it out separately. My apologies if you felt attacked.
  17. Not to turn this into a pi$$ing contest but Lincoln Riley did have some measurable success as an OC in multiple stops before getting hired @ OU. 4 years at East Carolina and then 2 years @ OU. My only real knock on Frost initially was I needed to see him have success when he didn't have a Heisman Trophy candidate @ QB. He did a nice job in 2015 calling the offense when Oregon had some injuries @ QB and he kept the offense humming. And he's done a really nice job @ UCF. To make it sound like Lincoln Riley was a totally unknown quantity is a bit disingenuous.
  18. Most successful people have egos and I think we would all agree that Byrne really doesn't need to do anything when it comes to the football program except keep Saban as happy as possible. Honestly, outside of some baseball success, I struggle to think of a time Alabama has been mentionable in any other sport. The question Byrne needs to ask himself is does he want to stay at Alabama knowing that he'll get zero credit for any football success which is really the only thing that Alabama cares about, or does he want to ride the gravy train for a while while Saban is still there?
  19. I'd be 25% surprised if LSU fires Orgeron. They'd have to go full dumpster fire for that to happen. Plus it sets a really terrible precedent of firing the HC after one year even though the LSU situation is unique. For Nebraska's sake, I do think Tennessee will try to swing for the fences with a big name coach and if they can't, perhaps kick the tires on David Cutcliffe since he is so close with Peyton Manning. They've already tried the younger up and coming coach route with Kiffin and Dooley and neither had much success...admittedly, neither of those coaches have enjoyed as much success as Frost did as HCs. That being said, both were bigger names than Frost under difference circumstances. Kiffin had NFL experience plus being one of the architects of the juggernaut USC teams and Dooley has huge SEC ties. After those didn't work out they went the more established HC route with Butch Jones. While I've never thought much of Jones as a HC as I think he's done a masterful job of riding Brian Kelly's recruits to bigger jobs he still had a good track record of success. Where I'm going in my rambling rant lol is I think Frost isn't going to the SEC.
  20. I did not appreciate Hansen's performance as he made me sweat my ASU wagers a lot more than what was necessary!
