  1. I'm a huge fan of using net yards per play although admittedly, I feel this is a little more accurate for NFL teams since college teams have such wide varying strengths of schedule. That being said, NYPP is still a pretty good indicator.
  2. Echo what Enhance said. I think Herm would be really good in recruits living rooms and selling to recruits parents/grandparents/guardians. Plus, let's be honest, the scenery is pretty good in Tempe among other things.
  3. This whole DT recruiting process with Mapieu and Williams can be appropriately summed up by...
  4. I think (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) that Dixon said he was waiting to see what shook out with Shea Patterson at Michigan. I believe Dixon said something to the effect that Michigan was going to fight like crazy to get Patterson immediately eligible and once that happened, the rest of the Ole Miss transfers would also be granted immediate eligibility. As to why he wasn't included in the article, perhaps Dixon transferred to Nebraska later than the other players mentioned in the article transferred to their respective schools.
  5. The paved road situation, specifically potholes and lack thereof is vastly better in Iowa, which pains me to admit. Thanks casino dollars!
  6. I took the comment to mean that Vedral will be able to help the other QBs learn the system and help explain the concepts. Each person learns a slightly different way so Vedral might be able to help speed up the learning process.
  7. Yeah that would be pretty brutal especially given the nature of the last few games.
  8. I totally get your sentiment and you make some solid points. I personally think one of the biggest things you need for a good rivalry is genuine disdain for your opponent and proximity to said opponent. I fully embrace making Iowa into a rivalry game although I can't personally can't tell you why I have so much disdain for Iowa when it comes to sports. It's odd to me, all the Iowa fans I know personally are good folks but when I see Nebraska playing that stupid Hawkeye I can't help but hope that Nebraska absolutely throttles them in whatever sport their playing against. Maybe it's the color black as I also loathe Colorado and Mizzou.
  9. Sr. walk on from New York. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=209396600&DB_OEM_ID=100
  10. No, but in this particular instance would you agree that discussing the intricacies on the way that QBs get drafted and how that relates to Lee with someone who admits that they both hate pro football and doesn't watch it (which is the purpose of this thread) seems like an uphill battle?
  11. Seeing as you mentioned that you never watch pro football having a conversation with you about Lee's pro prospects and potential future in the NFL seems like a pointless exercise. That being said, the litmus test for Lee's draft stock will be who shows up at his pro day. If some GMs show up to see Lee work out, chances are pretty good he's going to get drafted. Just scouts? His chances are not so good.
  12. This is a patently false statement. Last year alone there were 10 QBs drafted. The year before? 15. Lee absolutely made the right move going pro this year, he's going to get drafted in one of the later rounds more likely than not and he'll be able to make a few bucks along the way. Him staying in Lincoln this year would've been a total waste of time for him professionally. http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?type=position
  13. I know right? Then I read the post a bit closer and it mentioned that Masry is most likely going to qualify, the staff just might not be willing to take the chance on waiting so I had to edit it up.
  14. I know a lot of us got stung with the Nebraska win total bet last year. If it opens at 6.5 again I wonder if we'll be opening up our pocketbooks to back the Big Red again.
  15. Hard to argue with this. Saban's best team is...what his '12 team that smoked Notre Dame right? I would've liked to see how that team would've matched up with '12 Oregon team that had Mariota at QB, De'Anthony Thomas/Kenjon Barner at RB and speed all over the place.
  16. Using the lacrosse comparison, if this guy can be even half the player of Sam Hubbard that would be awesome.
  17. Yeah Harris was a baller. I was in college at that time and wagering way too much on CFB so I saw my fair share of BGSU games haha.
  18. Really close. 4.73 http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000793416/article/pro-day-results-ksu-nebraska-south-carolina-youngstown For comparisons sake, Tommy Armstrong ran a sub 4.6 40 Ok, thread derail over. I echo most of the sentiments here. Dude looks like a baller and played against really high level competition. I also liked what Severe and Sam said on The Bottom Line about him in that he has a lot of 'tread left on the tires'.
  19. Possibly going to give it one last go for the Spring and see how it shakes out?
  20. +1 Would +2 if possible. This made me laugh way harder than it should of for some reason. I blame the arctic death.
