Mini-dynasty ready to go. If that core stays healthy (mostly Jokic and Jamal) they are primed to be threats for at least the next 2 years.
  5. Subscription based, but why in the angry left? Just based on the headline of Target having bomb threats due to Pride displays, seems like a angry Replubican issue. But I can't read the article so maybe I'm missing something.

This is career based, he's around 20th. Numbers 1 & 2 really surprised me. But then I remember the stat of who has the best FG% for the Lakers in their history and I was like...oh well that's dumb (it's JaVale McGee at 1 and Dwight Howard at 2 cause all they did was dunks and layups). https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/highest-field-goal-percentage-in-playoff-history-minimum-10-field-goals-attempts-per-game Here is single season record. Jokic doesn't make the top 250 all time, this stat doesn't have a minimum per game requirement. Has a minimum for playoff year. Had to have at least 20 FGs during the playoffs. https://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/fg_pct_season_p.html

  10. Luckily I don't have a job that I have to worry about customers stealing. But I tell my kids who both work in retail, it's not your stuff, you aren't the law. You report it, you get as much information as you can, but you do not escalate it. You don't know how desperate that person is and what they are willing and capable of doing. I repeatedly tell them, with the way people are w/guns, and how prevalent they are in society today, you better be willing to die for what ever it is you are trying to prevent, otherwise don't interfere. The way this bill reads to me, store employees, don't escalate the situation and potentially turn a shoplifting situation into a gun battle. I'm OK with this. I don't want people to shoplift, but I'd rather it be shoplifting than getting people shot.
  11. haha, wow, yeah..added three extra zeros, this is why I don't do payroll. Still over 1.1 Billion annually is a lot to even get the Domers to consider joining a conference.
  12. If the expected amount is true, they won't be taking a pay cut to join a conference. So any conference will have to have team distributions north of $60M per team to even interest the Irish. With an 18 team conference we are talking TV contract north of 1.1 trillion annually.
  13. Just reading some of the things in the indictment, and that either Melania or Ivanka were involved as well....WOAH...NOT GOOD, NOT GOOD AT ALL
  14. See Northwestern last year, though to be fair, they didn't 'smoke' us.
  15. Having an AD in the BigTen's corner is nice, but it's the AD's bosses that need to be swayed for the move. If 4-5 on the Board of Trustees were wanting to make the move, even better.

I agree, we are all seeing how good he is now that he has the spotlight solely on Denver, all while in the flow of Denver's offense. But I would be even more amazed if Steph had a 20 rebound game, or Kobe etc. That takes nothing away from them being Mt Rushmore type players, they aren't the mold of Jokic. And I would be gobsmacked to see Jokic go 12 for 16 on 3s and run his defender through hundreds of screens a game like Steph does. Greatness doesn't come neatly in stats. I mean, if that were the case, more people would be talking about David Robinson and Hakeem and their quadruple doubles, 2 of only 4 players to ever have done it ever in the NBA. The 30-20-10 is rare, but happens more often than you would think, it's just the first time it happened in the Finals. It's happened multiple times in the playoffs and even more in the regular season. Heck Jokic did it earlier this playoffs. It's an accomplishment, but it's not as unique in terms of accomplishments. Just a cursory search and Wilt had the same 30-20-10 15 times in his career.
  17. If Miami does join the BigTen, IMO, just adds more reason for ND to join. Most of their rivals (UM, USC, and the U) would be in BigTen, would just need to add the tree, and I don't know how important that game is to ND. Add Miami, UNC, ND and screw the Big XII, let's get UConn too. Would put the BigTen as the top of the mountain (in terms of viewership) in both Football and Basketball.

Most of the guys you listed would never have a chance to do this. Players like Wilt, Hakeem, Bill Walton and Kareem would be my guesses to who would have been the closest to doing this in the past. Most players like your list just are never going to get that many rebounds and that was never their role in their systems. Shaq, could have, but in a Finals game, I can't see him passing it 10 times. Most have never seen him play in his prime, but reports are we are seeing the closest to what a prime Arvydas Sabonis was like, what could have been if he would have had the chance to come to the NBA earlier. That said, people talking about Wembanyama being a unicorn coming next year, I counter that we already have a unicorn in Jokic. While he's a decent defender and not athletic at all, he is hands down the best player in the league right now. I hope he can be the start of the trend where we have skilled big man that can post up, stretch the floor, and be the de-facto QB of the offense. Tired of seeing wannabe Steph's and Klay's. I'd much rather see poor man version of Jokic taking over the NBA going forward.
  19. The most interesting comment about this and comes with great skepticism, was this was a planned leak because one of our adversaries (most likely China) are further along in reverse engineering what they have and could use that against us. This was more of a call to put this out in the open so we can have some of our allies join us and collab to reverse engineer what we all have so we can be first and we (the US and our allies) can dictate how it is used and who gets to use it. They then linked some comments from a congressional hearing a few months back and this leak and tie it all together. It was interesting comment.

Murray isn't a great defender, KCP was boneheaded. For KCP, once a Lakers player, always a Lakers player, it felt like we led the league in fouling 3 point shooters. MPJ has had his defensive effort questioned since he joined the league. For the most part he's really improved on that in the last few years. He will still have stretches where he's not good, but overall he's one of their better defenders. And for as great as Jokic is, he's average as a defender. Luckily, there aren't many skilled bigs he has to worry about. Denver beats you by coming at you in waves and being really efficient on offense and being decent to average on defense, they really don't have anyone that will lock down a player. When their opponent is clicking on offense, it's about out-scoring them versus shutting them down.

Miami did the strategy that I wanted the Lakers to employ. Let Jokic go off, but contain everyone else. Don't double him, just don't let him get his assists and get everyone else going. That seems to be the best way to slow this team down, that I've seen so far. I think ESPN brought it up, but Dray said they way to beat them is to keep Jokic under 6 assists. If you do that, odds are you will win. 7+ assists, it switches to Denver being favored.

Interesting. I haven't listened to Dray's podcast. His and the 'All the Smoke' podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson are podcasts I keep thinking I want to check out, just not sure which ones to cut from my current rotation to add more.

Huh, I thought the reason KD wanted out was because of Dray. Seems like I’ve read innuendos that those two don’t get along. Dray is hated by most fan bases, but based on what I’ve seen of him, home fans will change their tune quickly with him. He plays hard, intelligent, does the dirty work and will aggravate the opposing teams. Home crowds will love him. The only concern with him, is how far past his prime is he and how quickly will his defensive skills fall off the cliff?

Dray is the guy you love to 'hate' but want on your team. His BB IQ is one of the best in the game, knows his role and excels in it. Outside of Poole and KD (and KD seems like he has issues with a lot of former teammates), he seems universally loved by his teammates.
  25. Talks of UConn to the Big XII, but for football only, and then adding Gonzaga who doesn't have a football program, to balance out the distributions.
