Why would anyone leave the country during tornado chase season?

      swmohusker

Rogue waves, pirates, and potential viruses keep me away from cruises. Have fun and be safe.  We are under a tornado watch for the next 3 days.

  2. Anyone ever taken the CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) exam or CAMS certification exam? Just curious how hard it is.

      rocketlb

I'm an auditor, and have been a CFE since 2016.  I know there are quite a few law enforcement officers who take it, especially those dealing with white collar crime.  I didn't think the exam was overly difficult.  There is a study course on the ACFE website that guarantees you will pass if you complete the course.  It was extremely helpful.

Okay perfect! Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into that website and that course.

  3. Finally the wait is over!!! GO HUSKERS!!! BEAT SOUTH ALABAMA!!!

  4. Headed to Lincoln tomorrow to meet up with some family. I told my wife I'd love to have the opportunity to do a workout in the Huskers weight room! #dream #justonetime

Are you sure you're up for a Frost/Duval workout?

      BIGREDIOWAN

Hell yes! I'd love to have that insight just once, I'm a workout junky so it would be nice to see where I'm at anyways.

  5. I can confirm that a partial torn quad muscle or quad tendon is extremely painful.......there goes leg day for several weeks! :(

@ZRod I was doing lunges towards the end of my leg day. It was a light leg day, but high reps, 16-20, and it was only body weight lunges. So I'm guessing I taxed my legs pretty good throughout the workout and the stretch of the lunge pushed it over the edge.

    3. ZRod

      ZRod

Yuck... Never pulled a quad, but I can only imagine it sucks as much or more than a back or hammy. Thank God it was body weight! Can you imagine if you had been under a bar or sled?

      BIGREDIOWAN

No, I would've probably collapsed and it would've been way worse.

  6. If you could pick anywhere to live in the U.S. where would that be and why? Wife and I are kinda thinking of moving, right now we're looking at Colorado, but aren't really set on anything.

As for Colorado, meh.  It's okay I guess.  If it was me I'd head a few miles north and live in Wyoming.  Well, unless I wanted to sit around and smoke dope every day.  Again.  lulz

    3. BIGREDIOWAN

      BIGREDIOWAN

My wife can move her job anywhere in the country, so that's nice to have, I'm not so lucky so I'd either have to get another law enforcement job or get out of it all together and do something new.

I moved from LA to DC when my wife and I both decided we wanted to live there.  We committed between ourselves to move on a certain date about two months out.  We began looking for jobs, and she found one fairly quickly.  As the date grew near we put money down on an apartment, hired some movers and gave notice to our employers.  It took longer for me to find a job.  But I ended up landing a job with just a few days to spare before we moved.  (Phew!!)  Instead of shipping our VW Jetta we drove across America to see the sights.  That was a good time.

  7. Just did the heater core in my foxbody Mustang........ yeah I'll never do that again what a PITA! :o

It's behind the passenger side of the dashboard so had to pull the dash, partially disassemble the dryer in the engine bay so I could pull the core box out enough to do the job. My hands are destroyed right now. Lol

This is why the second car I had didn't have heat.  Dad and I both said it's not that cold in Vegas, not worth replacing another one, just wear a jacket.

  8. Please chime in on this............do you follow your heart or your mind on something when you need to make a decision on something pretty important.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm a pretty logical person, I usually err on the safe side of things and to caution. I think that's why I'm having a real tough time with this decision. I'm still weighing things so we'll see where it goes. :)

  10. Well I can now confirm that sugar withdrawal is a real thing.......been really changing my diet lately and I've had two major withdrawals in the past three days. Severe headaches, nausea, weakness, shaking, etc. Pretty scary what sugar can do to you!

Thanks for the information @Hingle McCringleberry I haven't cut the sugar out completely. Just cut way back which is making me realize how much I was actually consuming on a daily basis! @Moiraine I've cut back to one pop per day, but I'm drinking Diet Coke at this point to cut out some empty carbs and sugar. So I'm still getting some caffeine so that's helpful with the process.

It's addictive as hell, but honestly, once you've gone about a week without, you really dont even want it any more.  Now, if i could just get back to that again...

Castle Rock is a decently long drive to Aurora. I'd take a look at all the different places from Castle Rock north to the Tech Center and along the southeast to Parker and east side of Aurora. Prices drop as you move farther east onto the plains.

@GSG,   Oh, I'd still be cranky.  That new uber powerful weed gives me a headache.

Question:  Those Capistrano salmon women don't actually smell like salmon, do they?

    4. BIGREDIOWAN

      BIGREDIOWAN

@teachercd hard to tell, this is my wife's idea more than mine, but as I go through the application process we'll go out there and see what we think about things and decide from there. I don't have to take the job obviously if we don't dig it. I like where we live now, but we've always talked about heading towards Colorado.

  12. Well unfortunately that didn't last long. Wife's job can't be moved to Colorado after all and we are staying in the Des Moines Metro Area. Oh well..... :)

  13. You ever had a decision so tough you almost can't make it? It's literally like standing at a y in the road with no idea which road to take! How did you work through that Huskerboard family?

If you have the luxury of time, talk it over with those closest to you. You probably already know the decision you want to make, but just need some nudging. There's usually never a right answer, just weigh your options like the husker bros said above.

    3. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

If it's so tough that you can't decide which is the better option, go with your heart over your head. If you literally cannot make a decision, flip a coin.

I've found that things are rarely as bad or as good or as scary as we imagine them. Maybe remove some of the extreme expectations from your deliberations and the solution may become more obvious. Good luck

Yeah but it’s like getting an extra 4 hours on your life. I’m not gonna watch it on principle.

  17. I don't usually scalp tickets on gameday, but I had some tickets fall into my lap for free and need to get two more. Will it be easy to get a couple the day of the game for a decent price? I'm assuming yes from what everybody has said.

It's in Husker football since Frost is probably going to be our next head coach.

  19. My boys first Husker game was a success, my one son was given a glove by Deontre Thomas in the tunnel before the tunnel walk. It was hot, but a great day. Loved playing catch with my boys on the practice field. This bodes well for the Huskers when they start recruiting my boys in high school! ;)

That's great. Happy you and your boys enjoyed it. Pretty cool with the glove, he'll remember that forever.

  20. Niles Paul just got lit up at the goal line playing the FB position for Washington. He's up and walking, but man is he wobbly. Hopefully he's alright......

The way he just bounced off that defender leads me to believe he's not the guy you want lead blocking in a goal line situation.

Yeah, I don't know what Washington was thinking putting a dude like that in at fullback?! lol

My grandfather worked at Union Pacific for almost his entire career. When he was in his 20's, he was even fired and rehired by them.

When he retired in his late 50's as the revenue director, all they did was give him a (cheap) UP watch and told him to clear out his office by Monday morning.

Management can be a bag of a**holes.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I expected. Unfortunately that doesn’t make it any easier to stomach. We are a poorly coached BAD football team.
