  1. Coaches' reputations are built over many years and Riley's reputation is a very good one that reaches far beyond Corvallis, OR. This is part of the reason so many of his former staff are willing to move their families to Lincoln to continue working with him. Also, we are seeing coaches from the NFL ranks and other college programs that are coming back to coach with him again. And, yes, I know Nebraska is a big time program too, but it says a lot about Riley as a coach and person.
  2. Wait a minute....it's very well documented that teams can't win with the triple option anymore. It's outdated.
  3. Thanks huKSer. Ya, the font size was funky...haha. Posting anything on this board is an adventure. Maybe I will deliver that perfect post someday. (unicorn)
  4. The fact it was empty is what matters most.
  5. Coaching, coaching, coaching...there is not real QB development at all. Seems the QB coaching to this point has been throwing routes in practice. Obviously it is much more involved than that. It's known that TM and TA sought outside help in the off season because they didn't have a choice. Just reading that our Elite 11 QB is "getting more work with the 2's" is ridiculous. TA has talent and we'll all get to see what a good off season will do with some actual teaching does for him. Good thing is there will be others getting a chance to compete.
  6. That's just the nature of things with football fans no matter where you go, the 2nd string QB is always the most popular guy in the stadium and the O-Coordinator will always be a bum. As far as the offense "Crapping the bed when in it counts" I guess they did, but they could have been like the defense and been crapping in it all night long for 45 points. That is a LOT of crap. And with that I'm done, one way or the other Beck is gone. We can agree on that at least. Exactly, while the O did some really good things, there was things that didn't work. Looking forward to the days when we pick up 3 yards by punching it up the middle when we need to instead of going backwards first and needing to get 7 or 8 yards. It was a hard fought game and it could have been much better, but also could have lost by a whole lot more. The game announcers kept reminding us how talented USC is the entire game and how proud the mis-fit Nebraska team should be with themselves for keeping it close. Hahaha.
  7. Haha...no kidding. He is very likeable, just like TO. Players will play for him because they know his interest is in making them better and giving them a chance to perform well by teaching. Doing so with a staff of coaches he trusts and believes in. Seems MR and his coaches are inheriting a good team to begin working with and install their skill-sets. One major difference I am looking forward to is the teachable/coaching moments on the sidelines during the games. Giving our kids something to use instead of a spit filled tirade will make a difference.
  8. Nailed it jcsmhammel... Honestly, it's it very telling that Pelini was a head coach at a very high profile university and now seemingly not wanted at an FBS level. Instead, the press conference is laced with how the move was very much about Bo's family being happy and a good place to live. Skersfan, you are also correct in that he is taking a lesser paying job in order to stick it to NU and get the most money he feels the university owes him. This is not a Boner thread and if you have wasted time on it then that's on you. Folks, if anyone creates a thread with Bo or Pelini in the thread title, feel free overlook it if you're not interested in reading about it. First off, welcome to the board.... The reason most of us "usuals" were giving you such a hard time about the OP is because you started a new thread to point out that you watched the introduction press conference at YSU, and that you seemed to have just realized the much discussed, highly-publicized connection between Pelini, the Stoops, and Youngstown..... If there was a list of the top 10 things "most known" on this board, that conneciton would make the list. Wrong. Didn't see anywhere that someone has pointed out there is a Stoops brother on staff at YSU. If it was, then I missed it and make no apologies for it. And no, contrary to anyone's belief or limited reading comprehension did I reveal that the Pelini - Stoops historical connection was just figured out by me. Some of you give yourself way too much credit and feel everyone is stupid.

  10. I will still throw stuff if we lose ; ) And my dogs will be in their kennels scared to death like every other Saturday when we were losing. Okaive, it's good to know this happens at someone else's house too. LOL
  11. I am hoping these kids take advantage of this stage with USC and national television to show their heart and pride. Play for each other, their families, friends and fans.
  12. It's not ground breaking news and wasn't projected to be. The points were Bo pretty much contacted the school to gage their interest in him and the connection may have been the Stoops family. I was simply making the "possible" connection for those readers that may not have watched the press conference, etc. etc. If it was not news to you....simply move along.
  13. As predicted, not one useful response to my post. 1. Post didn't indicate that it was unknown to me of the Pelini connection to Youngstown It was his connection to YSU itself. 2. My post referenced that Bo actually contacted the school to gage their interest in him. 3. Also, that again the Stoops family may have been involved in Bo's next coaching stop since their is one Stoops brother on the YSU staff. Maybe some of you need to pull back a little instead of just looking for a chance to belittle someone's posts.
  14. Watching Bo Pelini's YSU introductory press conference, I found a few things interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALJAAsglLSc One was he was contacted by a friend about the job and then pretty much contacted the school to see it they were interested in him. Upon further research, I found a current YSU coach is Ron Stoops. The oldest Stoops brother of Bob, Mark and Mike. http://ysusports.com/sports/fball/coaches/index
