  1. I don’t post often, but I felt like I needed to share my take on Sims and the offensive woes last night…

    1. We have the worst receiving core in the conference BY FAR. Might sound like an excuse for Sims, but I didn’t see any receivers getting any separation for the most part. That on top of an oline that can’t protect and QB who’s known to make risky decisions, don’t add up to success.

    2. We didn’t hand the ball off to Ervin enough. Even if you take away his one big run, he was still averaging 4.7 yards a carry. FEED HIM! (While I’m a “younger” fan, I’m still a RTDB guy.)

    3. Give Sims simpler passing plays like quick RPO’s, screens, and let him work outside of the pocket on rollouts. Our best passing plays came on short routes with the 2 minute offense or when we lined up in heavier formations and used play action. So again, hand the ball off more and then use similar looking plays in the passing game.

Overall take: We looked like a tougher team. We didn’t get pushed around like we have in the past by Minnesota. Last year the Gophers won by ramming the ball down the Blackshirts’ throats. We’re prepared to fight in the trenches, unless we’re throwing the ball.

I think a lot of last nights mistakes can be fixed and we can continue to become a decent team by the year’s end. My guess is 5-7 or 6-6 still.

You have said that about any black HC and the people of Nebraska.  If you keep repeating that, it still doesn't make it true.

Sadly, I live in rural Nebraska and I can confirm that it’s still an issue. I went to a watch party and there were a lot of old racist dudes saying stuff about Mickey…

    1. Matt Campbell - I believe his style can win games in the Big10. Good lines, solid fundamentals, and develops players to be better.

    2. Urban Meyer - Will immediately bring a winning mentality, but could end in a dumpster fire like Jacksonville...

    3. Bill O'Brien - Solid coach. Would probably leave for the NFL or a better job before he finishes his contract.

    4. Chris Klieman - Same as Campbell, but with less of a track record.

    5. Mark Stoops - Can recruit and build a team. Just don't know if he would leave Kentucky for more pressure from a football school.

Also, 6. Mickey Joseph - Just don't know what he can do as a head coach. Also, I don't think he wants to build a team like the one that Trev described in his press conference yesterday. Hope he can turn this around to salvage this season as much as possible.

  5. I’m done seeing this sloppy and poor effort type of football. Who do we hire to replace Frost at the end of this year? Obviously we won’t be a big job anymore after firing our “golden boy”, but we can toss money at some coordinator somewhere.

    The question is who though?

  6. Watching both teams, I definitely think that Nebraska has better athletes, but UCF just looked like they were more fundamentally sound. They didn't make big mistakes and they took advantage of Memphis' mistakes. Also, it looks like UCF's schemes fit the players' talents better than our schemes fit our players.
