The roster is talented and deep in some positions (interior defensive players, wide receivers) and thin and less talented in others (QB, DE, LB). The roster is good in some spots and not so good in others. Does that make it talented or not talented, and how the hell do you decide? According to some Nostradomi on this board roster depth and quality is the fault solely and exclusively of the current staff. I would include the intellectual giant who, in another thread, predicted the current staff will be gone next year. Whatever Bo should have done, he did what he did, and it's the reality that a new coaching staff must embrace. Bo left behind a malcontented roster, too, some of which has stayed malcontented. And since Pelini's style was much more hands-on and "directive" when it came to player behavior, some of the players spun off a bit on Riley's "do the right thing" approach The bolded is an interesting quote from Sam. Exactly, the line needs rebuilt in the weight room and on the practice field, as well as the recruiting trail. Last year they had a 3star RB and seemed to do pretty darn well. yup, in spite of the fact he had no blocking. Hell of a football player. He had some "want to" unlike several of his teammates

Sweet culture change. The team used to win 70% of their games, play for championships, and had an outstanding academic record. Now, a year later, they will probably have one of the worst seasons in the history of the program, and are having academic issues not seen in years, if ever. What changed? We won 70% of games that meant nothing, got embarrassed by anyone with a pulse over the last 7 years. Not sure what academic issues you think we have, but I am sure if there are any, you will spin it as the coaches fault instead of lazy ass kids that maybe skipped a few classes.

New first time head coaches at Nebraska in the last 50 years: Tom Osborne - .836 Frank Solich - .753 Bo Pelini - .713 New "experienced" coaches at Nebraska in the last 50 years: Bill Callahan - .551 Mike Riley - .417 Osborne was a longtime asst. Frank was a longtime asst, that failed when he ran out of Oz players Bo won mostly meaningless games Frost is just another risk with more downside right now than promise. MR doesn't even win the meaningless games, and he is your hero. He is not my hero, I just stand up for him and his staff, to the jackasses that think they should be fired after 3 games. The jackassery of some posters here is enormous. We gave Bo 7 years to accomplish nothing and disgrace the University. Riley should get at least 4 years to win or fail.

Agree 100%. This staff has been in place for years and must be held accountable for decades (since 2001) of mismanagement. Yeah. Can you list some of this mismanagement - or is it just a generic comment to cover your agenda? DJ Foster should be on the field. Do you coach him? I hope he will have a good offseason and be good enough to start, but we seem to have an abundance of underachievers right now.

So far, all that these testing results have told us is that we don't have as much talent as we did in the mid-90s. Pretty sure no one needed the testing results to find that out. If we had testing results to compare with from the last 10-15 years, that would be a lot more interesting. I think it would be pretty easy to figure out that the overall level is not up to par with the 90's, The 9 win seasons and 5 win season are about the same, we are irrelevant as a football program until we get better talent.
