  1. We are we snapping the ball with 20 seconds left on the play clock?
  2. No fumbles please and please run and not throw it.
  3. If he’s down at the 1, I’d recommend taking a knee just to let some time tick off.
  4. I do not trust our offense to finish this even though it’s been pretty solid all game.
  5. Classic Frost, we have momentum so why not put in a QB who hasn’t taken a snap all game in a crucial moment?
  6. Having a couple days now to think about the outlook for Nebraska's season, although I know Frost's buyout gets reduced in October, I think regardless of how this season goes he stays until the end of the year. Because why fire him in October? Why fire him in November when there are games yet to be played? At this point when it is clear that he won't return it is all a perception look for Alberts. Trying to attract a new coach and Alberts can show them the lengths they gave Frost to try and turn things around and if he keeps Frost through the season he can even sell the idea that he gave Frost all year to still try and turn things around. So that is why I think regardless of how this season goes Frost stays through the whole year. There really is no benefit to firing him. Recruiting landscape has changed so much I don't think you fire him to save a recruiting class, those things can be bought and recruited throughout the year. You keep him to sell to the next coach that Frost got an entire year to turn things around, even if it is obvious he is gone, at least it can be sold that you had the patience. A lost season is a lost season. Frost returns if he somehow gets to 8 wins. He may even return if he somehow can get to 7 wins. 6 wins and that becomes a difficult decision, because what if that gets us a bowl? But after Northwestern beat us up and completely man handled us in the trenches, I don't see how this team gets to 6 wins. Even though we should have two wins these next two weeks, the Big Ten schedule is going to be a disaster just by how Big Ten teams are built and how we are built. It doesn't favor us in anyway.
  7. I never thought I would see the day where I could think back to Callahan's time as "Not that bad".
  8. It isn't just one game, we have now lost 7 straight games by one possession. We also haven't seemed to improve at all in the areas we've needed to improve in. But how horrible the defense was is extremely concerning as we move forward into the season and have to go up against Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc. Those offensive lines are going to mow us over and those teams could be seeing 400 yard rushing days. Defense may be so bad that we relive the Cosgrove years.
  9. Scientists learned the cause of global warming was the heat radiating off of Frost's coaching chair.
  10. Frost words are coach speak. The others reporting from practices are Nebraska writers who are desperately trying to capture clicks and readers. It's hard to sell the same product over and over but somehow Nebraska beat writers do it.
  11. Who can help Frost build upon his fire and passion? We need to find that person. I thought Coach Osborne would be a great resource for Frost when times got tough either Frost would reach out to Coach Osborne or Osborne would reach out to Frost and of course Frost would listen. Even Alberts himself could be a guy that maybe could be a resource to help Frost learn how to build upon his fire and passion, given that he too was a former Husker and is Frost's boss. If Frost doesn't listen to these guys for assistance, who in the hell would he listen to? I don't think Frost is his true self since returning to Nebraska to take this job. Looking back now, I just don't think he was ready for this type of project. He was loose and having fun at UCF, I remember after UCF beat USF and UCF just won their conference the reporter post-game asked him about the Nebraska job and you could see the pain in Frost's face and hear it in his reply. The guy was torn. I think he loved UCF, I think he knew deep down it was better for him to stay at UCF to build himself more and prepare him more for a job like this. But at the same time I think he loved Nebraska and knew just how badly we needed him at the time and with a bit of arrogance, as any D1 coach should have, he thought he could turn it around but maybe deep down he knew it was a taunting task and in order to mask that daunting task he seemed to have changed his ways of how he ran things in UCF. He doesn't seem nearly as creative, loose and fun at Nebraska as he did at UCF. When he does try to get creative, loose and fun things they are situations and plays like the onside kick and they just backfire and come across was dumb. Only now by looking back and knowing what we know now, I think ultimately we just took Frost a little too early. He needed more time to grow at UCF and learn some things. Mainly let him make mistakes there and let him learn from those mistakes. But at the same time we knew this when we hired him, that there would be growing pains because he was an inexperienced young head coach at a top program. We were willing to dump a veteran experienced coach who wasn't winning here for a younger homegrown Cornhusker and figured if we are going to go through dark times, let's go through those times with one of our own. These are those times, we are living it. The problem we find ourselves in now is, the same exact mistakes we saw yesterday are the same exact mistakes and outcomes we saw in year 1, 2, 3, and 4 and there hasn't been any growth or improvement to make us think that things change in year 5 or beyond. I think on paper everything about this hire seemed like a grand slam and it seemed like the perfect timing. But I think now, going on 5 year later we all are seeing that the timing was actually not right at all.
  12. A lot about football, especially on the defensive and offensive lines is about heart and effort. You don't necessarily have to be great at your position, but you have to work hard enough that you can somewhat or somehow become a clog in the other teams machine, even if just for a second to disrupt their play. This is where the NIL may ultimately ruin college football. College football was about passion, pride and determination and the NFL as the place where players went with incredible skills and athletic ability and collected checks. Now these guys can get their money in the college level and who really cares if they produce results on the field? We as fans will, but at the end of the day, they get their money. It's why I was never really into the NFL as much as college football, college football had a piece of connection, it felt like other than being incredibly good and a billion times more athletic then me, we shared the same thing, passion and pride for your team. They played for their school, the state, the fans, and themselves. Well, now when guys are getting paid who are they really playing for and when teams start to open up gaps wider than the Grand Canyon and a team puts up over 500 yards on you, alright, still getting money to do that week after week. I just think these are the dangers of NIL. It will take really special guys who put their school and the emblem they wear over their checks.
  13. It didn't even seem to bother the defense.
  14. This was my line of thinking prior to this game vs Northwestern, but seeing yet another failed season is looming and the same problems continue, I think the problem here is Frost doesn't develop players. Trying to think, I don't know of many players who have actually developed and gotten better over their time at Nebraska. If they are good, they transfer. A. Martinez actually regressed since his Freshman season. Now you'd think with the list of new coaches there may be some development and there still may be some development as the year goes on. That first quarter things looked good, except the OLine continues to be a weak link. But Nebraska has not had one key player get better throughout their time at NU. They either transfer out, regress, or just simply don't do anything. I can't name a star Nebraska RB since Frost got here besides W. Robinson and he left. Also another interesting thing with Frost, all the transfers he's lost since he has been here. We as fans equated that to those players just aren't buying into the system and good riddance, but maybe there is something there that we don't see that the players do.
  15. Well lucky for that the next two wins SHOULD be wins which will reignite the excitement of the fanbase. Then Oklahoma comes to town which will be an automatic sell out. So the sellout streak is intact through September. Fire Frost in October if the record remains at 2 wins and maybe that keeps the sellout going because people will be understanding that the program is going to try a new direction. Actually after I typed that I don't think the sell out streak survives this year.
  16. A hopeful positive takeaway is Kevin Warren was in attendance and even though Nebraska football is not a winning product, he must've smiled at all the red that traveled to Ireland to watch said product. Because to him that red is green, so thanks to Nebraska fans dedication and loyalty, when the next round of realignment comes around, there just may still be a spot at the table for us.
  17. Because even when they are really good, the people and UK don't seem to care. Maybe he would want to go somewhere where they value college football. I mean, the basketball coach, who's the equivalent to the football coach here in terms of standings, just basically mocked Stoops program. The chip on his shoulder from that comment could either be to stay at Kentucky and try to make it a football school, or say screw it and head somewhere else that is a football school and win big.
  18. This was the biggest game of Frost's coaching career at Nebraska. He failed, it's as simple as that.
  19. Sure a unit that seems to be bad since the early 00's, but if I remember correctly didn't the offensive line improve just a tad by last season's end under Austin?
  20. Rhule is another interesting name. Petersen Stoops Rhule These are some solid names, but the question will be would any come to Nebraska? Also, this is week 0, handful of other programs are going to have their week 0 moments throughout the year and there will be many more openings by January. Rhule may have his pick of wherever he wants to go.
  21. Somebody did something while in Boulder, Colorado in 2001.
