  1. Who is MonkeyBall? Have you seen any thread started by anyone this week? That's moneyball I pay attention to threads worth reading, lol. I gravitate towards positive posts. Not a whole lot of those around here but that will change after we beat Wisconsin soundly. Something the previous regime could never do.
  2. Too many ifs. If we do this if we do that. We make it hap'n cap'n. End of story.
  3. I would put money on 0-7 before 7-0, but the extreme optimism is a different take on things. Why would you have to put money down in order to have a winning attitude? You just support the team endlessly! All we can do is win out. We've done it before, we can do it again.
  4. No, this is the winner's circle. Don't worry, we'll have your support when we're 9-3 headed to Indianapolis. Climb aboard already! What are you waiting for?? Bring your winning attitude!
  5. No, this is the winner's circle. Don't worry, we'll have your support when we're 9-3 headed to Indianapolis.
  6. Yep, I agree 100%. I think if anyone boos they're setting themselves up for embarrassment.
  7. I still remember when Frost got booed. Then he became the only Nebraska born QB to win a natty. Booing won't happen Saturday though. Hard to do that when you're blowing out your opponent at home!
  8. This. This is the attitude everyone needs to have right now. Elevator going up.
  9. No, no. We need to be more positive! When you're positive, good things happen. You achieve results. We've got the right man leading this program. It just sucks that not many will get behind him right now and I understand that. It's because they can't see the amazing run we're about to have.
  10. About the only thing I want people to agree with me on is curb stomping the Badgers and doing the same thing the rest of the year. We have talent on this team that is ready to step up and make this a Cinderella story! We've got 3 tough losses neither of them where we got blown out. Be glad we lost early because it ends from here on out!
  11. We're gonna crush Wisconsin and move on to the next victim.
  12. They can only stop themselves and treat each game as if it's their last and lay it all on the line. All the negativity needs to be thrown out. Winning will heal all these wounds. We're on cusp of something special.
  13. +1 that's gonna be Memorial Stadium this Saturday! Wisconsin is about to enter a buzz saw as far as I'm concerned.
  14. Dang son....I"m a koolaid swilling, sunshine pumping fool from way back, but you're making me look absolutely docile. I promise you, if that happens, I will take the time to figure out how to search old threads and bring this one to the top. I will personally bump this thread every time we win. I've got a feeling the lights are going to come on for these coaches and players. They have beaten themselves up to this point and it STOPS this Saturday!
  15. We are going to embarrass Wisconsin and slay our next 6 opponents en route to a showdown with top ranked Michigan in Indianapolis. Why? Because all of a sudden we have tougher opponents and this is the fire that gets lit under our players a$$e$! We have the best QB in the conference and soon to be the best newcomer in Ozigbo. He will be the story of the year and he will gash Wisconsin's defense. We are going to beat them 38-10
  16. Hindsight 20/20 says we go 4-8 and everyone is gone after the year.
  17. As an arm-chair head coach, QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, er... fan who proclaims to know it all - we need to clean house. We seriously need to re-consider the hiring of Mike Riley. This PR experiment is not worth it. If any fan is FINE with a record of 2-3 for the first time since 1959 prior to the start of the sellout streak, you're on the wrong side of the fence. We can't accept this mediocrity at a once storied program. For the first time since 2007, I am seriously concerned that the sellout streak is at jeopardy however, there is a theory that the sellout streak is an exaggeration, so there's that. Moving on, Perlman needs to step aside, Eichorst needs to be shown the door (if anyone can find him!) and we need to bring in an AD -- someone who genuinely has a deep love and respect for the Nebraska Football legacy someone like Trev Alberts who was a former player. Our AD needs to be held accountable for this mess and we need to find janitors to clean it up. If we have a non-lawmaker at the helm in the AD department, that person would put our best interests forward and that's bringing the Nebraska football brand back to prominence. I don't care if the head coach is an outsider or a guy who has Nebraska roots. We can all throw names out there. Personally, I'd make a strong case for Sean McDermott as he is arguably one of the top assistants in the NFL and is a defensive minded guy. He is from Omaha, Nebraska and has 16 years experience in the NFL that immediately will bring in recruits and we do need help in that department and he is still only 41 years of age. Secondly, we need to find a brilliant offensive mind who can install The Erhardt-Perkins System into our offensive players as this system can demoralize a defense. Don't be mistaken, the E-P is a run first system. It cannot be named "Pro Style or WCO" because it is simply not that. This system was designed in the 70's before WCO football existed and don't be fooled, the WCO is EXACTLY what we are running today with a mixture of "what we used to know" -- all of this translates to a lack of identity, lack of production, lack of results. Elements of the E-P system recently has been used during Nick Saban's tenure at Alabama and seems to have obvious success with 3 national titles during this decade to show for it. Most Nebraska football fans would welcome a smash mouth type of identity (I think,) and it continues to work today. Wikipedia - The Erhardt - Perkins system traditionally had a reputation (whether or not earned) of being a traditional smash mouth offense that maximizes a team's time of possession and does not as frequently call upon its running backs to serve as receivers.[2] Erhardt was famous for his adage, "throw to score, run to win." This may have been especially true during the years Bill Parcells ran this system as the head coach of the New York Giants. This system was thought to be particularly well suited for teams playing in harsh outdoor weather conditions of the northeast of the United States. Mike Riley is just like Bill Callahan (remember that mess?) The great Tom Osborne advised Mike Riley that we need to be able to run the ball in poor weather conditions. The man with 3 NC's to Riley's zero. The man with 13 conference title's to Riley's zero. Is Riley that stubborn? Riley has been quoted as saying he does not want to be that "S.O.S. on two, ready," type of coach but that is exactly what we have. The jury is still out for Riley and this staff but I feel we have been duped by everyone from top to bottom starting with Chancellor Perlman. The fans do deserve more than this, former players deserve more than this, students deserve more than this. Can we bring in people who genuinely LOVE our program and fans and respect both, please? The product we see today is not cutting it. Someone needs to do something, boosters, fans, how can we accept this? Winning erases everything, sure, but at this point are we confident enough to believe we can pencil in a W on the remainder of our schedule? We have become like Alabama and Notre Dame prior to their revival. We need people to bring this program back from the dead.
