  1. Looks like another 5-7. When do pitchers and catchers report?
  2. Bonfire is decent, haven't been to the other place. If you want good steak, Mannys, Ruth Chris, Wildfire, or Redstone.
  3. I learned that Dish Network not carrying Fox where I live due to their contract dispute is turning out to be a blessing in disguise.
  4. We were hoping for a sit down restaurant where we could have a drink or two. Some place with mac and cheese, grilled cheese, or pizza for the kids.
  5. Going to the NIU game (7 pm) with my 3 kids, 7, 7, and 4. Trying to figure out lunch and dinner options. In the past I recall running into places with limited game day menus, with little or no kids menu. Any suggestions? I think Old Chicago keeps their full kids menu available on game days, but wasn't sure about other places. We were thinking of having a pizza delivered to the embassy suites for dinner if that's an option. Thanks!
  6. Great, now they have extra motivation to play well. The Sal factor always gets us.
  7. Thanks, got some tickets for section 613, row 6. Sounds like I'll be able to confess how I recklessly let my kids roam around the Embassy Suites lobby while I drank before the game.
  8. I'm looking to buy reasonably priced tickets for me and my two 6-year old boys to the Troy game. Looking for a section that would be somewhat close to restrooms, concessions, etc. Last year I got end-zone seats, and it was a bit of a pain to walk all the way down the ground level to use the restrooms and get concessions. I was looking at the upper sideline seats (600s). Are there elevators that take you up there? Or is it stairs/ramp all the way up? Are there restrooms and concessions near the top? Any other sections/levels that I should be looking at? Was hoping to keep it around or under $75 per ticket.
  9. Now I think I'm going to have to stop at Eden Prairie mall on the way home for old times sake.
  10. I will black0ut the 4 int's and 2 pick-6s that Lee throws by about noon on Sunday.
  11. As a resident of Minnesota and a UNL alumn, I am disappointed in everyone. Time to make a new one, but only let it change hands between Faux and some trustworthy UM representative.
  12. It's all about the money. The Military pays the NFL a lot of money for all those in-game reunions and stuff. All part of recruiting. I'm guess they do the same to the NCAA. If the people that made snuggies paid that much in advertising, they would be pushing those down your throat instead. I personally have no problem with it. I think people watching that stuff don't realize they're watching a commercial, but if some of that money goes to UNL, I'm all for it.
  13. Can we just turn around and go home? Playing this game was just a bad idea.
  14. The site I use says -16.5. So much for the respect that we supposebly earned over the weekend.
  15. YOU LIE! Fortune cookie fortunes don't have enough room for all that. Beat me to it. I was going to say that must be one damn big fortune cookie (or some pretty small font).
  16. OSU routinely won 9-11 games a year and finished in the top 15 from 1980-2000. Pretty similar to what Nebraska did all those years minus 94-97. And since then they've won two national championships, played for four, and had umpteen 11+ win seasons, conference championships, etc. Where we haven't had any of that. So sure, I guess they can't match our mid-90's run, but they've got 16 years and counting of better success from 2000 onwards. When does that catch up for them? What saunders said. And it never catches them up. Unless they win national championships. Also, does playing for national championships count for Nebraska too? Ok. Let's add 3. So if we have 20 more seasons never winning conference championships, never finishing ranked in the top 15, never playing in major bowls, and they continue to do all of those things routinely but don't win any more national championships, then we'd still be the better program? All of their all-time numbers are comparable to ours, and they've done a lot over the last 15 years that we haven't, and are poised to continue to be an elite program, whereas we either aren't, or we can't really tell one way or the other. Why did people complain about Osborne not winning a national championship? Because it seemed like there were many years that our team was good enough to win, but we could never win the big game at the end. Many years of 0-2 losses during the regular season, only the fail the last test.
  17. Fair enough. Admittedly I didn't read all 7 pages, and what I read was mostly about whether they should or shouldn't kneel. I guess it's better that doing a protest in the middle of an interstate blocking traffic, or letting your kids do a walkout in the middle of school day disrupting classroom activities.
  18. If I was coach, I would tell them that they can kneel if they want, but they need to submit a 500 word essay on what their gripe is, who specifically their gripe is with (e.g. the Chicago PD), and 1 idea on how to resolve the issue. I really don't get what all the kneeling is doing, other than getting a bunch of people taking about who kneeled and who didn't.
  19. 7-5. Same QB + same coach = same result (minus a few bad breaks from last year). But I hope I'm wrong.
  20. Didn't Solich get fired for bedding a cheerleader?
  21. that good? Youre comin around faster than i thought. Anytime anyone says something like 5-7 for a record for NU in 2015, I just shake my head. That is not even being realistic. NU should be no worse than they were last year. They have too much talent to lose that many games. The only teams that will out talent them on the schedule are Miami and maybe MSU. Mike Riley would have to be completely incompetent to lose that many games with that much talent.. . . I think Riley will do well here. I don't know how many if any CCG he will win. OSU is head and shoulders better than everyone in the conference right now. That will a big obstacle to overcome. This one is good, too. "They have too much talent to lose that many games. The only teams that will out talent them on the schedule are Miami and maybe MSU. Mike Riley would have to be completely incompetent to lose that many games with that much talent." I'd say those 3 statements were dead on.
  22. I'm not too keen on players using social media to express their thoughts. Sincerely, Trey
