Anyone know a rough time to be at the stadium entrance to see the team walk off the bus? Is that usually an hour before kickoff... or what time?

 

would love if my family and I could see the team and HCSF up close since we have nosebleed tickets.

Well, we are putting up a fat 0 today. Most disappointing class I've ever followed.

 

Look I understand if it's Notre Dame or somebody like that but to go to a dump like Corvallis would be pretty funny.

 

Dump? If you're talking about the football program, then ok. However, the campus is beautiful. Voted the best in the west last year.

Explained it quite well for everyone. I was purposely vague in the original post (also stated this in the clarification). Intended it to be thought provoking. It worked if everyone is replying.

Got away with a penalty there, Jones. Can't be the one to down the ball after willingly taking yourself out.

He flat out sucks. So does Kalu. I don't care if the coaches think they're so much better than our other cb's. At this point, I'd sit their asses down. Start Lamar Jackson, put Aaron Williams at CB, or Lee (even with slight injury) or even move Anderson back there.

+1 to the idea of 8 conferences, with an 8 team playoff featuring each conference winner. As long as all conference are even somewhat balanced, that's ideal.

 

Just for sh#ts and giggles, this has always been my idea of a perfect bread-basket conference:

3. Iowa - Oklahoma State

1. We are 5-0 and it feels good. But I learned that I better savor it over these next two-three weeks because we're a good football team... not a great one. And when we face Wiscy and OSU it could get ugly.

 

2. I learned that, warts and homerism and all, I wouldn't trade Tommy for any other QB in college. He's an absolute warrior.

 

3. I learned that Terrell Newby is better than I thought he was. He's not a great back we'll remember for years like Helu/Rex/Ameer, but he deserves the carries he gets. Nice game, Newby!

There is really ten-twelve really good teams this year. It seems like less an usual.

 

Glad to see us ranked. hopefully we can remain undefeated these next four games and head into OSU with a high ranking (something like 12-15).

In the future, when I look back on Tommy Armstrong, this game will be the first to come to mind. Tommy had his best game today. He ran very well, made great decisions all game, and had the heart of a warrior. There have been times I've doubted you and wanted another QB, but everything considered you proved me wrong today.

Oregon looks sharp this week. Obviously very talented. Their receivers and backfield have great ball skills. We will need to bring our A game next week.

I'm a huge Oz fan. He was great when he got the rare opportunity to play last year. He seems to be a bit stiffer this year, but he's still the best back.

 

Not a fan of Newby. But he played well today. He obviously needs to be used almost exclusively on outside runs and screens. He runs the screen as good as any Husker since Cory Ross.

 

Next year we will run a pass heavy offense with PoB and our needs from the HB position will change. We will need a pass blocking and receiving back more than ever. If Newby didn't graduate, he would be Patrick's best friend out there. And though I like Oz, Tre will probably fit the new offense better. He just seems so well rounded.

I get pretty damned sick of seeing people bag on Ben, Jake & Sam Cotton. They've been good Huskers.

 

I'd like to see suspensions for that kind of crap.

 

I'm not sure why Barney became the scapegoat of the late 2000s like he did. He was a good coach and a damn good mentor. He filled in admirably against USC as well. I wish him nothing but the best at UNLV. And his sons were/all serviceable to good players for us. I'm happy to have had their service here.

 

I won't yank anyone's chains. I get upset with plenty of players and get in the bad habit of persistently targeting specific players who show poor character and/or play very bad. But, yeah, I don't know what have the Cottons have ever done to garner the targeting from fans they've received.

I learned that these coaches do not care about tradition or streaks. Just intentionally letting a time honored streak end today without even a second thought about it. Infuriates me that level of disrespect to our former players that buitd the streak and for these "coaches" to just flush it away makes me mad and disappointed.

Armstrong is playing like absolute crap. Two or more fumbles on snaps, a ton of misreads that could have ended up in multiple ints, and no pocket prensence.

 

I wish PoB was ready

1. The staff is willing to listen to the fans. They ran a hell of a lot, gave Tommy a lot of bootleg runs, and played backups for half a quarter. I love the running as much as anyone, but they seemed to give in to the fans too much. If there was any week I'd forgive them for being pass happy, it'd be when DPJ and other big receivers are on OVs. Still like it, though.

 

2. We are at least four deep at half back. I'm not a fan of Newby, but the other three are legit AF.

 

3. Kieron Williams is a great player in the making. Has a good sense of where the ball is and plays fast.

 

4. Banker's plans to make up for the dline's lack of explosion is to blitz. A lot.

 

5. Lamar Jackson is going to see the field a ton this season. He needs to ease up on the cushion, but he looks the part.
