  1. Some rules are ridiculous. Excessive celebration and targeting (with ejection) are extremely stupid. Let the boys play.
  2. How about everyone waits until the end of the game to freak out? There's some positives to go with the negatives.
  3. Thanks for the input.mit brings a different perspective. It's also nice to see who KW is personally. There are consequences for such actions and I do think he should be gone, but I sincerely hope KW is successful in life and beats his demons.
  4. You could be right, but I sure hope you aren't. Personally I don't think I've ever even been above .08 3 times in my entire life, but I am always terrified of the idea of driving a vehicle if I've been drinking much at all and avoid it at all costs. If you are right, I hope something can be a wake-up call for people. If it isn't Erin Sorenson having to deal with physical/emotional scars for the rest of her life while barely surviving, if it isn't the potential dismantling of our recruiting class and loss of one of our best position coaches, if it isn't losing a loved one, what will wake people up to take this seriously? My mom would drive drunk all the time as a kid. Every weekend I'd wait on the apartment complex stairs balling my eyes out, convinced that this was the time that she got into trouble or got hurt. I'm so glad she never did, but that fear of always worrying about her is what did it for me. I hope people can figure out not to mess with this stuff without having something drastic occur. I'm well over 21, but haven't ever drank because someone in my family has negatively impacted me as they have also gotten third DUI this year. So yeah, Bugeater's wrong. Edit: not being preachy and attaching a negative assessment of drinking in general. I'm just saying I don't because drinking has negative associations with me due to someone in the same exact situation as KW.
  5. I doubt there will be any national publicity about this. Someone mentioned a couple coaches in the other thread who had DUIs and stayed at their universities. Until now, I had never heard of them or their cases. Not to mention ESPN has far bigger fish to fry than college football's 40thish ranked teams receiver coach. Shrug.
  6. Oh man, good point. Hardly the way to be honoring Foltz. He died in an accident...how is that relatedFoltz's accident was a car crash. KW knowingly got behind the wheel in a state that was likely to result in a car accident. Which it did.. Just lucky no one was killed. I had to ask myself how they were related at first, too. I thought maybe it was a reach. But it's really not. It shows KW didn't have enough judgement to make an easy decision that should have been made even easier knowing one of his own was killed in a car crash two weeks ago.
  7. Pipe dream, but....Keyshawn Johnson, Sr.?? .1% this ever happens, but now I'm really excited..Is he still a talking head at ESPN?
  8. NO, NO,NO 3rd offense and 2nd in Lincoln. No recruit or win is worth keeping this liability on staff. He's a lost cause that is begging to kill someone. Is there any reason legally it matters if it's only his second in Lincoln/Nebraska? Just wondering why that's worth mentioning. And I know someone with three DUIs whose job was very reliant on driving; he didn't get fired. But that's apples to oranges because KW's job is what it is.
  9. Most likely, he will be / has been let out. He won't have to go until his sentence begins, and this won't be until the court hears the entire matter, which a lawyers can drag out for at least a year.*I'm no expert in law, but this was how it worked for the person I knew with three DUIs. I believe he's being held in jail until his hearing on Monday which I obliviously don't know what time that is. I would then doubt he can come right over and start coaching. I just read in the other thread that because of his amount, which is enough for a felony, he is being held. You're right.

  11. I don't think it is too premature to talk about outside of what happens in court. We know exactly what happened and we know of William's prior offenses. So I think this is a good thread. Second, without getting too personal, I'd like to say someone very, very close and dear to me received their third DUI in the past year, so I kind of know how this generally plays out both in a legal sense and in a mental health sense. What needs to be done is what's best for the University and its students. This would be for Williams to be relieved of his duties. It will make for a safer environment for the student athletes, and it will make for a better culture for the football program and university. It just so happens, and also of importance, is that this will be best for Keith Williams. Speaking in generalities, someone who is that old and has three DUI's is very dependent upon alcohol and will almost never change, regardless of the consequences. I don't think Williams will change, but I'm for darn certain he won't if he has no repercussions from UNL. With all that said, I hate... HATE how horrible this is for our football program. KW is the last person, outside of Riley and Armstrong, that this could have happened to. Our chances of landing Lyndsey go from 5% to 0%. Lewis goes from likely to a complete question mark. The five star transfer? Say goodbye to him. Calvin too. Who knows about Jaeveon and KJJ (who admittedly didn't come for KW). Of course this is bad press, so it's going to have at least a slight effect on non-WR recruits as well. F***. Right when we get a break. Right when we get a good recruiter. All of our momentum is suspended... We will see if it is all reversed or not.
  12. So one non-Michigan/Ohio St game all year? I'll pass.
  13. I live in Fremont, almost went to Midland but chose another college. One of my friends goes there though and was on the football team, so I somewhat follow them. Too bad this guy sounds bad.
  14. This should probably be in the Other SPorts section, but wanted everyone to see it and Zac will always be a Husker. The Dolphins fired their OC, Bill Lazor. In comes Zac Taylor, previously the QB coach. This is Taylor's first big break and it will be interesting to see how it goes, though chances are their new HC will get rid of him. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14258236/miami-dolphins-fire-offensive-coordinator-bill-lazor-promote-zac-taylor
  15. Not that I idolize Steve or anything like that, but I would be interested in hearing what he thought of the game and the experience.
  16. Stop. I want a different coaching staff as much as anyone, but you never root for your team to lose. Hand in your fan card.
  17. If you did that with Cross and Jano from the start, you'd have a minute more and a third timeout. Good going, Riley. Took almost any chance of winning away.
  18. The blatant PI!!!!My bad, never watched the defender. Concentrated on Moore and his shoulder.
  19. Why are the fans booing right now? That was a good play call, good pass, and effort by Moore. What am I missing?
  20. I dunno seems like people here wanted to bring pressure. From a safety on 3rd and long though? Yeesh. I wouldn't have been mad had Gerry aborted, he was way too far from the LOS when the ball was snapped to ever have made the play.
