  1. And yet the current players were upset and taken off guard by the firing. That doesn't happen when the whole team more or less goes to the AD to complain. Sam's got some details he's not sharing here and working on a story. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/players-distraught-following-connie-yori-s-resignation-as-nebraska-women/article_762b62d2-f12a-5756-a01c-c20586d53cc4.html
  2. Lets see. You give a statement in a department culture review that isn't favorable of the culture currently in place. That gets leaked out early. All of the sudden your boss has someone attend every single thing you do meeting and practice wise looking for anything to find just cause. He finds what he needs, says he's terminating, she states she'll counter sue they work out a deal where she gets most of her remaining contract. Coach is now being defended by a very solid former player and former coaches at NU. Her, Miles and Bo were very close knit from those who know them. Miles is up next.
  3. He was projected in rounds 3 to 5 with a chance to move up until this staff got ahold of him. Most of the struggles were caused by the leave your corners and safeties on an island approach that most college football teams abandoned 10 years ago.
  4. So they turn it down?He was probably just throwing sh#t at the wall hoping it would stick anyway. UCLA has to go through their board of regents to approve contracts so it slowed the process down to get the ok to give him the raise to keep him at UCLA.
  5. And that came from someone affiliated with 1620
  6. Just say it. I hate when people tease like they know. If you know just say it. Im not your f'ing girlfriend. Or your boyfriend. Not that theres anything wrong with that. I was told it had been offered on Friday and unless the current team of the coach comes back to match the offer he'll be at Nebraska. It's from a booster out of Geogia and he said it was Angus. He wasn't very impressed. His comment was decent recruiter but below average coach.
  7. Unless the person turns down the job we should hear something in the next 48 hrs.
  8. Angus McClure is who I thought Sharpe mentioned quickly on air this morning. Would be a great hire IMO if true. EDIT - will need to go back through the podcasts, 2nd or 3rd segment to be sure but that is who I thought I heard him say. Interesting! I don't remember this guy at all but he's got a few ties to Nebraska apparently. Was an assistant for Callahan for two years, and was also the offensive line coach and run game coordinator for Turner Gill at Buffalo. Here's some more of his bio from UCLA's site: Seems like a fantastic hire if true, but are we putting all of our eggs into the California basket? Not a bad basket to be in. Having said that, this coaching staff showed plenty of ability to adapt to recruiting in the 500 mile radius, an area they hadn't had much experience in before.... They pretty much whiffed on everyone in that 500 mile radius they went after. The ones that signed were recruited hard or committed to Bo's staff. The high school relations guy sucked, was an arrogant A hole and told the coaches at the coaching clinic he didn't intend to recruit Nebraska much. He was so bad and screwed up so much they announced today he was reassigned. Going forward Kenny Wilhite has that role and he will excel at it. That's just not accurate. Farniok- Was far from locked up by Pelini. That was most definitely a recruiting win in the radius for 2016. ' Bryant- Wasn't even offered by the Pelini staff Wilson- Wasn't offered by Pelini. Stoll- No Pelini offer. Domann- All Riley & staff there. As for the lineman who were already committed (Raridon, Brokop). You act as if it's easy to keep kids committed in the middle of a coaching change. Did Pelini have them on the radar? Sure. Still a nice job by this coaching staff to keep them interested, and committed. Missing on a couple key prospects late, is for from "whiffing on everyone" in the area, and those two kids from Kansas are probably going to Clemson whether it was Pelini or Riley in charge..... Both Fant and Bubak were coming to NU until this staff messed it up. You seemed to miss out on them in your mentions. So no biggie we let the best two kids leave because we wouldn't call them back.

  10. Fun Fact: Northern Michigan is where Tom Izzo went to college and played basketball I'm not a fan of Jason Peter but I do like John Parrella. And its hard to start a program at any level and have success and he did that for a new high school program.
  11. Apparently you missed the entire first page. I saw mention of the GA not the wage. I was just adding that fact. But thanks for being a dick about it. There is also another person on the payroll that has talked to the coaches but isn't currently on staff. So take it for what its worth.
  12. We had almost a complete lack of DL guys interested in us this year. The only official visits we got were the two guys who signed. One live a half an hour from Memorial Stadium and the other had been begging for an offer for over a year. There were hardly even any guys who seemed interested. Now, some of that may have been because the staff had decided not to recruit a DT this year. Not sure if that was Hughes' call or someone else. But it was still basically non-existent. There is zero chance we decided not to recruit the DT this year. We will probably need 2 or 3 JC folks next year to fill gaps on the DLine to make up for misses this year.
  13. Lets also not forget that we're going to pay this guy like $300,000 to not coach next year (unless it was for cause) so I doubt we go pick up someone high end. It will probably be a GA or someone we already paying.
  14. If that's the case we should be looking for a new special teams coach.
  15. Give us a name(s) who would fit that description. Of coarse i have no Idea if they can coach.. But Winstrom, Peters, to name a few. Who could sell playing D-Line and being a blackShirts better then them? Please be joking. Why? I hope it is JP just so everyone can see how full of crap and clueless the guy really is.
  16. You must work for the government. In the real would when you hire an employee giving him/her a raise and making more than what you paid the last person you expect an upgrade. At least in sucessful companies.
  17. It was pointed out that Bray was making as much as Terry Joseph on Bo's staff and they refused to give him an increase and thats why he left. All together this staff will now be about $1 million more than the last and they spent huge amounts on recruiting and support staff like never before. This is the year they better perform because right now we have fewer wins, about the same recruiting, and crappy special teams with a larger investment. I think Bray and Williams got well deserved raises. Hope this is a good year.
  18. I put the blame right on this staff. He said from the start if someone would have returned his call in the first month of the hire when he was trying to make contact he would have been a Husker.
  19. Who? He is one of the head directors of recruiting on 247. 90% success rate in predictions. He doesn't really just guess. Often uses "sources" with his explanations. Idk I am just becoming a lot more worried about this one. If we lose Farniok my feeling about this class goes down a lot. ESPECIALLY losing him to Iowa. And ESPECIALLY if Iowa takes Alaric Jackson from us too (which Wiltfong also predicted) ON TOP of the fact that they already took Noah Fant. I know we have some other solid pieces but OT is a position of huge need and losing big recruits to Iowa of all teams would be extremely disappointing. To be honest I don't think he's ever been super impressed with this staff. I think he likes them but isn't over the top impressed or for some reason we just having had the "ah ha" moment for him. He's always been coy when talking about Nebraska so I always considered him the long shot and we were probably a back up for him. I think he's a good get so I hope someone else says something to turn him off and make him like us better.
  20. They are lucky he got hurt or he was not coming back. He had planned to transfer to another school but with the injury he didn't have people wanting to give up a scholarship and take a chance on him. At least according to an Omaha media member.
  21. I agree. However, there have been players who have taken out very large insurance policies for this purpose. The school can pay for them, too. Correct. But Nebraska does not pay for that. They refused to do it for Ameer when he inquired.
  22. Yes schools like Michigan, OSU, Bamba, Florida are having a hard time getting bigger guys to commit early.
  23. I looked at the headline and knew it would be that guy writing it. Glad he used some hard hitting facts or talked to some scouts to support his uneducated opinion. He really wants to be Sam and hopes the OWH will discover him someday.
  24. It depends on what their stance is when it comes to QB's needing to pass block.
  25. Is it bad that I hope this happens. I would really like to see a OC who wants to run more of a Stanford style offense. Sorry, but I put a lot of this year on Langsdorf. We were told all offseason that they would try to marry the skillsets & playbook of the last staffs to what they want to move to. If they think they did that last year, then we are in a lot more trouble this coming season. I had a horrible dream last night that he did leave and we brought in Lane Kiffen as the OC and head coach in waiting for 2017.
