  1. Embarrassments and less than savory behavior......that's all you got out of those emails? You might need to take a few steps back and reevaluate. Or not.... Personally, I would rank it in the Watergate neighborhood, if not worse. And I'm not hoping it does Trump any good, although I think it will. My hope is that it gets some on your side of the fence to wake up and maybe enough more people will give up on this perceived lesser of two evils bullsh#t that we have had to settle for. The only thing that will get either of these two shams of political parties to straighten out is a serious scare from some third party candidates. If a person can look at those emails and still vote for Hillary or dems, IMO they are no better than your opinion of people who support Trump. My analogy would be, it's like a Nebraska fan who would be happy with cheating, embarrassing antics and rampant criminal behavior as long as the record looked good at the end of the year. There is a 3rd option... Anybody else read the bold and think of Bo?
  2. Let me ask you this. Other than white men, what minority is more likely to be a Republican than a Democrat. Not blacks Not women Not hispanics Not young people Not gay people .....etc. BTW...this is a serious question. I've thought about this a lot. I guess you could say Christians. I'm not sure Jewish people would be Republican. Anyone???? Jewish people, as a whole are traditionally democratic supporters (similar to african american when it comes to voting party lines) Edit: to add link: https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/monkey-cage/wp/2015/03/24/why-most-american-jews-vote-for-democrats-explained/
  3. I cant help but think how appreciative I am that we have a man like Riley at the helm at a time like this. Good w/the kids I'm sure, but the right tone and tenor for the parents and public as well.
  4. As bad as the Republicans look, this proves that the DNC is in a lot worse shape. They rigged their primary and tried to use Bernie's religion against him to help Hilary. If people want to see proof of how slanted the media is, watch the coverage of this issue (or lack there of) and it will be obvious. Seriously? I don't know that you can say one is in worse shape than the other - they both are an embarrassment.
  5. Makes an interesting point ... so if only 6.5% of high school fb players go on to play in college ... only a very small percentage are D1 athletes. And even fewer actually play. Mav I think it was you with all the stats on the Home State Players thread, I'm trying to tie these to that debate, it would certainly put things in perspective ... do we ever know what the states graduating FB class numbers are in total? I wonder if you look at a graduating fb class size in NE and tie that 2.5% does it come close to the number of instate recruits we've had the last few years? I know folks feel we have low figures of in-states and need to step that up, but I'm of the ilk that thinks we need to use the same criteria for instate as we do out of state, and those need to be pretty high fliers.
  6. I think he probably deserves his own.
  7. It's ok, I don't demand you to post facts for every post you make. You are free to believe what you want. Nobody expects facts for every post - but we do when statements are made that are presented as something other than your opinion. When you make very strong, bold statements and then present them as fact then yes, people want to see why you think it to be. You can feel any way you want, and think what you want to think and write what you want to write here - by simply approaching your posts as opinion or feelings I think everybody would find it easier to discuss things with you. When I say "Iowa is the worst team west of PA in kicking field goals" then I better have something to back that up. Otherwise I say "Iowa sucks at kicking field goals". The forum is one of spirited debate and we all come to hope to learn from each other and broaden our thoughts on issues (or at least I do). But for the most part it's friendly and respectful - we appreciate each others differences of opinions. I know yours would be respected, and the worst thing you'd be asked in reply would be, "tell me why you feel that way?"
  8. I don't mean this to sound as harsh as it's going to, but why would UNL help the Foltz family with funeral costs?
  9. I think you're right. A bond that can never be broken now has even more meaning and significance to them.
  10. An interesting read that sums up a lot of my thoughts far more eloquently than I ever could: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/6/11/1537582/-The-most-thorough-profound-and-moving-defense-of-Hillary-Clinton-I-have-ever-seen
  11. Who said that? I sure didn't, or are you confused again? for clarity I said this. You also said that he was a communist, and you knew this because, "his record speaks for itself.. as well as his upbringing and those he looked up to.. all communist."
  12. Does anyone know rule-wise, are we limited to a number of evening camps per year? Also, I'm curious as to why NE had their's so early. Seems like many schools actually did theirs in the last week or two. My feelings swing from: Glad we do it early, better to analyze and offer prospects- get ahead of other teams Why is the last feel for a college atmosphere going to be (insert college here)? I suppose it's good to get exposure to NE and then get them back in the summer for another unofficial (i.e. Joeseph Lewis) I guess you'd want one or two big, well attended camps vs. lots of little ones? (See how I swing between thoughts on this?)
  13. Bni I hope you posted that first link as a joke - cuz it is one.
  14. I'm scared for your kids' development of social skills growing up under such a paranoid parent. Wow do you not have kids? I have heard from many parents with kids our age saying the exact same thing about the world we live in right now. Being cautious and protective with them has no bearing on their social development whatsoever no matter what belief system you subscribe to. That's EXACTLY what it will do. If you keep your kids away from the "Big Ol' Mean City" and crowds of people, they will develop the same backward mindset that people of other colors, heritages, orientations, beliefs, etc, are going to all do them harm. Then no one learns. No one listens. And everyone becomes a Republican. Or they could learn how to be a Democrat that lies/panders to minorities every four years while continuing to do nothing for them. You know what, at least that would be a start for Republicans. Instead they act as if minorities are lesser than white, middle aged, men. Even if the Right acknowledged minorities every four years it would be a start.
  15. The leaked proof that the primary's were fixed is going to piss off the Bernie supporters and as I said in another thread will make them either stay home or vote for Trump. The DNC was calling them crazy for even bring up such a conspiracy theory, now we find out that it's true. I think this may hurt her even more than being protected when she wasn't indited and I didn't think that was possible. Well I'm a Bernie supporter, as are many I know and that's not happening. I'm sure some may, but it's not the mass exodus that you're implying.
  16. Was just going to update ya'll on that. He now thinks what many of us have thought. I swear once TGeb was spending so much time w/Lewis at FNL vs. Lindsay, and seeing how disengaged Lindsey was w/our coaching staff I switched my vote. Onward with locking up Joseph Lewis next week. I like him better - all the good PLUS he's big. Him and Calvin. Watch out.
  17. I agree with you 100%. He's solid and I'm happy with her pick. I would have loved Warren or Bernie but that obviously wouldn't have been a good fit for many reasons. Now in 2020 I wonder if we're gonna see Liz ...
  18. I need to read up more on Kaine, but I think it will be interesting to see if the undecided read up on Pence ... he's always going to be like milktoast behind Trump on stage, but his past voting history and opinions on issues is horrific on many that are important to folks, especially those who were supporting Bernie. Here are some of my favs: · Voted NO on prohibiting job discrimination based on sexual orientation. (Nov 2007) · Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman. (Jul 2006) · Voted YES on banning federal health coverage that includes abortion. (May 2011) · Voted NO on allowing human embryonic stem cell research. (May 2005) · Voted YES on banning Family Planning funding in US aid abroad. (May 2001) · Sponsored bill to prohibit fed funding of Planned Parenthood. (Jan 2011) · Voted YES on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage. (Sep 2004) · Voted NO on enforcing against anti-gay hate crimes. (Apr 2009) · Voted NO on $84 million in grants for Black and Hispanic colleges. (Mar 2006) · Voted NO on enforcing limits on CO2 global warming pollution. (Jun 2009) · Voted NO on tax incentives for renewable energy. (Feb 2008) · Voted YES on speeding up approval of forest thinning projects. (Nov 2003) · Voted NO on four weeks of paid parental leave for federal employees. (Jun 2009) · Voted YES on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers. (Oct 2005) · Voted YES on prohibiting suing gunmakers & sellers for gun misuse. (Apr 2003) · Yes to Loosen restrictions on interstate gun purchases. (Oct 2011) · No to Ban gun registration & trigger lock law in Washington DC. (Mar 2007) · Voted NO on giving mental health full equity with physical health. (Mar 2008) Similar to when Chaney was around, and probably to an even greater degree he will be doing the US's business as the President would be incapable of doing so. One thing I can say I like (?) about Trump is that how he says he feels on issues may changes tomorrow, so there's a chance he'd support ideas that seem off the table right now. But Pence, he's a consistent, closed minded conservative that sits far, far to the right. Between that and Trumps/the republican party's platform I really don't see Bernie supporters swinging that way.
  19. It is going to be even harder for her to get the Bernie supporters after the emails prove that it was rigged in her favor. I can see a lot of them either staying home or voting for Trump. It was at 20-25% of Bernie supporters that said that they would vote for Trump before the convention and the proof of the rigged primary came out. I would think that number would go up after the latest proof of her corruptness. How much, IDK. It also strengthens the angle of being an outsider vs the corrupt insider who is responsible for how bad of shape the country is in. She is really making it very easy for Trump to win this thing, but he keeps on killing his own momentum by opening his mouth and saying something ignorant. If he wasn't so over the top, this election would be over as I believe that he would have close to a 15-20 point lead in the polls. You can say that about both candidates, they are their own worst enemies. It is going to be a cripple fight (south park reference for those who don't know) to the finish to see who screws up less. I really think that it will come down to the three debates and that should be in Trumps wheelhouse because as you stated she isn't a good speaker and doesn't have any charisma. Everything about her seems forced and fake which happens when you pander to everybody. Which gets her into trouble when she tries to play both sides of the coin on just about every issue. The biggest example of this was the meeting with the coal miners after she said that she was going to put them out of business. I have to disagree with you there - I think come the debates Trumps gonna come unglued. His inability to focus on answering a question, and to try and distract people by calling them names and making faces is going to solidify her. I also expect to see a couple sweet burns come out of Hilary when he does it. I think post debates, if anybody is on the fence, there will be little doubt who they will view as the grown up who is most likely to lead the country decently. As many before me have said, we don't have an exciting choice, we have to decide the least offensive and the least harmful and in my mind that's an easy decision. GO HILARY!
  20. Is that all muscle or would we need to trim him down a few pounds? :-) No - with our new 3 M weight and development program, he will be right in there size wise "Massive Muscle Mass". The new name for the 2018 Huskers will be Tons of Fun! We intend to just 'lean' our way down the field crushing our opponents into the turf as we go. Three drives is estimated to be all it will take to take out the entire three deep on defense. You obviously didn't see the weight listed 84 ...
  21. Mavric - I have to tell you that I think you're amazing. You're so on top of everything and organized - we all benefit from your hard work on this site (I just stumbled onto the spreadsheet with our number of picks correct - you're fantastic!) Also, as I reread this I see that I sound a little Trumpish, but I stand by it all. Mavric is fantastic, amazing, wonderful and awesome.
  22. Oh, and when you take out all the sharks, you could knock out all the birds for me - horrible Ornithophobia.
