  1. Wiki on the wonderlic. You are crazy if you think that Suh really got a zero.
  2. sheesh... I know Green didn't light the world on fire, but the way some of you are making him sound, he has no business even showing up to practice anymore. He was in his first year of a HORRIBLE offense... we had beat up RB's, a sub par offensive line, and WR's that were being demoted to scout team left and right. Imagine being 17 years old, thrown into a big time college spotlight randomly throughout the ball game.... I bet you stare down receivers and miss them as well. He will make significant strides during year two, QB's always do (especially in a complex offense) If Lee and Green were really close at times last year, what makes you think Green won't make major progress while Lee is recovering? Lee's "dominating" performance against a team that literally gave up during their bowl game? I'm not a green sunshine pumper, never have been, I just don't get how fans can gain such a strong bias towards certain players.
  3. I have spent a lot of time there. Caught a lot of fish there as well. Above the dam on the lake mostly. If you decide to go, PM me and I will give you some pointers on places for fishing.
  4. She is fairly attractive. For some reason her body seems a little disproportionate (too much legs, it that is possible). BUT, Kornheiser has a point, and I do think her outfits look tacky quite often. I think him being suspended is a little outrageous... that is tony being tony. He knows he isn't brad pitt, he's just doing his thing.
  5. It's going to be weird seeing our DLine without Suh. Definitely going to miss that guy.
  6. I'd put Cooper ahead of Bell at WR. Speaking of Cooper...I wonder if being on the baseball team is bringing him down a little bit. Every practice can make a difference. Spring football is a chance to improve and he's missing it to play baseball. He's a great athlete, but I'm just wondering if it's stunting him at all. It would also be interesting to hear how the coaches feel about it. While they're evaluating players in the spring, he's not there because he's playing baseball. it sure as heck is bringing him down a bit. i wish he wouldn't play baseball, but i mean it's his best sport for now so we cante expect him to quit. i think Bell makes great strides this spring. he has all the play making potential, he just needs to get blocking down. maybe Gilmore will soon realize that CFBs and the NFLs best WRs usually aren't great blockers, and thats not why they're in. is it better if he can block? of course. but he's in there to catch passes which is going to be darn good at. i think Bell is 2nd string behind Kinnie for sure I was thinking the same thing all year last year. Bell seems to have all the tools to be a great receiving threat. Gilmore has been quoted as saying that Bell didn't play because he didn't have the blocking down. We can question it all we want, but that is what our offense requires. With our offense, the QB gets to the line, reads the D, and then calls the play. With that being said, Bell would become a liability as soon as Lee switches to the check down play (a running play). IF we had some major threats at the skill positions then this wouldn't be as much of an issue.
  7. About the time the board switched? I bet there are a few guys out there that had it bookmarked (like myself) and thought the board just went out of commission. It wasnt until I went directly to the site (not through my bookmark) that I realized the board had gone through an update, and was still running.
  8. Big thanks should go out to all contributors EZ-E Street Novelist Nexus just to name a few.
  9. IBWWR (in before wes welker reference) IBTDR (in before tim dwight reference) There is a stereotype, but only because there is evidence that suggests a trend. people are presumptuous. First impressions are made in a matter of seconds, and that is all calculated based on previous experience. Since black skill position players are more common, when you see a white wr vs a black wr, it's assumed that the black wr has the skills required to be more successful.
  10. It's actually a little to scary to think about how helpless we would have been without Lee this year. It will definitely be a fun offseason/fall camp if Lee does come back 100%, because we never really got a chance to see him at full capacity this year. By the time he started to get meaningful experience he was hampered by an injury on his throwing arm. He managed the game well, got great experience, and hopefully next year he will have a decent line and some chemistry with the WR's. 2010 could be a great year for our offense.
  11. I'm guessing someone docked you for typing FSU, instead of USF. honest mistake, but some people are sticklers.
  12. He displayed much better speed this year, as opposed to last year (as you hinted at). There were several times (one swing pass comes to mind against Texas I believe) where he seemed like a missile on his way to the ball. It surprised me. While he isn't ever going to be the fastest LB on the roster, he is adequate and developed a nose for the ball. I doubt he sees a pro bowl, but he will find a spot in the NFL for a few years.
  13. this was due. I respect the man, and appreciate what he has done, but like has been mentioned he just really isn't that crisp and insightful. This year on Big Red Wrap-up he really did start to get difficult to watch, he would make a comment or incomplete thought and Kevin would have to try and mend the mistake... Matt does need some work as well, but he does a decent job and will only get better (until he turns 55)
  14. I always thought asante looked taller than that... Not a huge deal, he isn't necessarily undersized, it just caught me by surprise. As far as Cody is concerned - that is terribly unhealthy, I fear for his life. Maybe the best thing for him is the NFL conditioning program.
  15. No need to worry at this point... nothing we can do but wait. We made a huge impression during our in home. Owa is just going to take some time to weigh out his options... very mature thing to do. This has been one of the most drawn out recruiting cycles ever, I am getting sick of it so I can't imagine how Owa and Cooper feel.
  16. Ankrah is my was my first thought. Keep in mind, Meredith has been thought of as a candidate to move to the interior. I remember hearing that he was playing around 260 before the bowl and has some room to grow. This gives us a great opportunity to get more talent on the field. (Cam, Crick, Allen, Stein - unless he moves to OL - Ankrah... maybe Owa!) IIRC Josh Williams was injured for the majority of the season, otherwise he would have seen some playing time. Indeed our D-line is going to be nasty for a few years running.
  17. Hope you have a good time and a safe trip to Gods Country. What I recommend anybody going to the game is to arrive a few hours before kickoff. If you're going to tailgate before the game I'd show up 4-5 hours before kickoff that way you'll have time to eat some good food, drink plenty of beer, and BS with other Husker fans tailgating around you that way you won't feel rushed. Also before you tailgate I'd go down to the stadium and check out the weight room, the new Heisman room, and maybe pick up some merchandise at the Authentic Husker store right across the street on the westside of the stadium. If you wish to check out the stadium and suck after you get done tailgating thats up to but it'll be really packed and a cluster and thats why I suggested checking out those things before you tailgate. Walk around the stadium taking pictures of the statues on the east and northside of the stadium and most of all yell out "GO BIG RED" too. Hope this helps and if you have anymore questions just ask around and we'll help you out. thanks for all the advice guys really appreciate it....must say nebraska fans seem to be the most friendly fans ive ever been around and ive been to games at Berkeley to watch Cal, Minnesota to watch the gophers and LA to watch the Trojans....none of them were really that friendly!! were all 24 and 25 years old so i guess another question would be which clubs to go to post game to hangout with the fine ladies of lincoln!! As far as how i became a nebraska fan, when i first got into football my favorite player was Ahman Green and that really got me into watching cornhusker games!! but also where i am at is Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada and its directly north of nebraska, south dakota, north dakota and since the Dakotas do not have a division 1 football program it was the closest and most celebrated football program to where i am at (minnesota gophers do not belong in the same sentence as nebraska) That's great. I always like to hear stories of fans that weren't born and raised Nebraska fans... Anyways, If I were to make some bar/club recommendations I would go with the following. Start your day by getting some chicken wings from Watering Hole... amazing (the grilled wings are the best, forget what they typically refer to them as) bars for post game... Iguana's - usually lots of decent looking ladies, nice atmosphere, perfect setup for meeting some new people. Mainstreet - Usually decent deals for drinks, pretty packed on most occasions Sandy's - Extremely busy, but they are known for their Elk Creek Water (basically a pitcher of this mixed drink, similar to a screwdriver) Cliff's - Right next to the watering hole. They are known for their "kamikaze's" (mixed drinks that cost 7 dollars, but get you drunk in a hurry... about 5 different kind of alcohol in each. Not a great place to meet and greet new people, so might be worth slamming a couple there and then heading out) Brass Rail - pumpin tunes for people to dance... always people dancing here. In my perfect night I would go in this order: Watering Hole for wings and cold pitchers, next door to Cliffs for a Kamikaze or two, next door to Mainstreet for a beer, and then over to Iguanas to finish off the night. If I get tuned up enough I will move on to the Brass Rail to do some dancing, but that is rare.
  18. Pretty sure AZ is out of the equation now that Stoops is at FSU - I have been wrong once before, though.
  19. Well, it would be nice to say we are going to load up on talent next year, but you never know. You never really know how good these guys are going to turn out, how high their ceilings are, etc. The fact that he has played against great competition, is a natural winner, has decent wheels, and is pretty intelligent all make him a little less of a risk. Ganz didn't need great arm strength - he just had the "it" factor and a great relationship with his receivers. The best thing for him, if we do sign him, is the fact that the fans expectations will be tempered quite a bit since he is a lowly 3 star with only a few offers. So he can work his ass off in behind the scenes without being bothered.
  20. Coop is getting tired of the whole process. He may not take that last visit... Obviously FSU will really put the pressure on to get him to come check it out, but if marvin's in home visit goes really well this week...
  21. Awesome, have a great time. Definitely get into town several hours before game time to take in the atmosphere. As was mentioned, go check out the trophies, statues, etc. and take in some tailgating. What kind of food, what type of activities would you like to indulge in? If you don't mind me asking, how did you become a husker fan? are you a transplant from Nebraska?
  22. I went with KSU just for fun. In reality it will probably be MU... but I couldn't bring myself to vote for them. I like how NOBODY has voted for CU to be second next year.
  23. since we are imagining... imagine if nobody could commit until signing day. how ridiculous would the boards be on that day. ha ha
  24. great video... I wonder how many times I will watch this one during the offseason. I'm guessing I hit triple digits.
