  1. Tom Herman always felt like the perfect coach for Casey to land with, glad to see him do well.
  2. That OC hire was a major win for Deion. I think coaching hires was my biggest question mark for him and he hit that one out of the park. Still think we can win, and even cover the original line. CU is going to struggle with big TEs and good running games all year and I think our defense is better than TCU’s. But this is going to be a real road test. It looked like they were going to hire Bronco Mendenhall - which would have been a better hire than they deserved and I think we would have beat them by 35+. They somehow hired the one guy capable of a massive roster flip like this to turn a sure fire win into question.
  3. Definitely more polished than I expected. The truth is, they’re more talented than the Colorado teams we lost to in 2018 and 2019. Still think we can win. Our offensive system - if we actually commit to pounding the run - is a bad matchup for them. But it went from being the worst team in college football to a formidable road game.
  4. Never trust the Georgia assistant we vetted for info again lol.
  5. Yikes. I truly hope this is a wake up call for him and he gets the help he needs. I’ll be honest, I expected him to end up at Colorado. He just felt like such a headline take, and they seem to be all about headlines, so I was surprised when he ended up here. If the staff felt they could reach him, then it was worth a shot because he’s an all world talent at the position. But having low expectations helped here lol.
  6. That OG not getting a waiver doesn’t seem to bode well for Arik Gilbert’s chances. He cited documented mental health as well and came up from the FCS level. Kinda sad to be honest. Meanwhile the LB they got from ASU is on his 4th team and will be eligible just because he’s a graduate. NCAA continues to baffle me.
  7. Yeah, I’d say that there have been years here where Grant is no doubt still in line to get the bulk of the carries even with the fumble issues in camp. Instead, he’s dropping down the depth chart until he gets that under control and I think it’s very clear they trust all the other guys in that room to get the snaps. I don’t know how dynamic or explosive the room is, that remains to be seen a bit. But it looks like a bowl team’s RB room depth wise in my opinion at the very least. I understand Undone’s take though too.
  8. Main takeaway is that I like the 1s pretty much everywhere, even on the OLine with Teddy out (or limited). I think they will all look better in a ground attack. Depth is admittedly a little scary in spots. It really sucks being down Buford and Farmer at S. Said it last year too but we have to be able to get Heinrich and Reimer off the field more. Not a shot at them but they’ve been relied on to play way too many snaps. Would be nice to see a lot of Javin Wright. I’m not sure how explosive we will be on offense but I think we will be very efficient and move the chains. Not having so many dumb 3 and outs will help ease depth concerns.
  9. Can’t find a tweet to post it officially but he did say McGuire will be in the booth.
  10. I typically agree 100% with this but I think some on field coaching for Sims from his OC will be important this year.
  11. Satt and White will be on the field during games. I like it.
  12. About what I think we all expected. No Jeudy is a bit disappointing but tracks with the lack of news about him this camp.
  13. Sounds like Gilbert is still having issues with drops. Although to be fair to him, it has to be hard to stay hyper focused when you don’t even know if you’re eligible to play.
  14. Sucks but if his heart isn’t in it then there’s not much anyone can do and he’s got to make the best decision for himself. I don’t know that I had the biggest expectations for him this year in the first place, but he’s definitely a talent we will miss. And you just sympathize with the coaches because the lack of depth makes practice so much harder. Almost have to bubble wrap Kemp and Washington at this point but that would be a disservice to them and the rest of the team. Oh well, next man up.
  15. Not necessarily good to see him in one but the non-contact jerseys can mean anything from precautionary to a little banged up. We will see players show up in them randomly through camp, maybe for a day, maybe for a week. I’d be concerned if he was in street clothes.
  16. I am probably wrong but just reading tea leaves, it seems like any additions to our conference wouldn’t get full shared revenue for the first couple of years. The Pac12 was willing to give increased, unequal revenue share to keep Oregon and Washington. That plus the increased likelihood of making a playoff in such a weak conference made those two schools seriously consider staying in the Pac12. But the news of all but one game being on streaming each week and the fact that the other schools are thinking of jumping that sinking ship made Oregon and Washington resume their talks of leaving. Will be interesting to see who gets a Big12 lifeboat as well.
  17. Safety is a spot I always wince at when I hear there’s attrition because those guys are both at risk of getting banged up and at the highest risk for targeting ejections. Just one bad or unlucky half of football and you go from good depth to questionable depth. But, if he wasn’t willing to buy into the new culture then it’s not a loss at the end of the day and it’s a spot where I do feel good about what is replacing him. Just need to make it through fall camp with no one getting banged up back there.
