  1. In reality even the teams at the top of the west have a talent issue when going against OSU. Nobody in the west has recruited at their level in recent years.
  2. 09/01 - Akron W 09/08 - Colorado W 09/15 - Troy L Hoping this doesn't happen but very well could 09/22 - @ Michigan L The big house will be too much for our rookie QB 09/29 - Purdue W 10/06 - @ Wisconsin L Getting better but not ready yet 10/13 - @ Northwestern W 10/20 - Minnesota W 11/03 - @ Ohio State L Competitive game that makes us all feel "ok" about the loss 11/10 - Illinois W 11/17 - Michigan State W 11/23 - @ Iowa L Loss in OT that reminds us this is just year one of the re-build
  3. If your going to bet a long shot may as well take the 150/1 odds of the national title. I have been putting $20 per year down for a long time... The tickets make cool conversation pieces in my man cave.
  4. How big of a spot do you need?
  5. Maybe the OWH made Lee do this because they knew he would do terrible and they are looking for a reason to can him... I can only hope.
  6. I have looked at several different fan polls- all seem to favor Martinez but not by a landslide. That surprises me honestly as I don't know a single person who doesn't think he will start. The kid can flat run and I can't wait to see him on Saturdays. TG is a good QB but kind of vanilla to me.
  7. Handing them out to the starters makes sense to me but in our current situation we may only have 5 or 6 defensive guys who really deserve to be starting... the others are there by default until they improve or can be replaced. I have no issue withholding the black shirts from the guys who are starting by default. It takes a long time to build a culture of excellence and rewarding a sub par starter with a black shirt accomplishes nothing towards that goal imo.
  8. Don't 90% of new coaches get to pick who they want below them? To me it seems strange that a school would tell their new coach that they want to cherry pick coordinators. Maybe my perception is off?
  9. Maybe I have been lucky but I haven't had any bad experiences with other Husker Fans or opposing fans in the last 10+ years. I always take a kid with me when I go to a game. Kids have to stand on the seat most of the time just to see over the adults so I find myself standing a lot. I do go up and down with the people in front of me. I'm not that guy standing alone in a section when everyone else decided to sit but I am one of the first to stand to try to get everyone up during moments of excitement. In general I feel the Nebraska Fan Base still tries to live by the "best Fans" label and are very courteous and easy to get along with.
  10. I have only ever used the ramps/stairs for the upper sections- not sure if there are elevators all over but I know there are some. I wish you good luck finding reasonably priced tickets for this season- demand is pretty high.
  11. I would see Troy as more of a threat if we were an overly confident team that may overlook them. That won't happen this year as every player on the Nebraska team just came off a terrible season where they lost to several teams they shouldn't have. I have a hard time seeing a scenario where this game ends up closer than 2 scores. We will have a couple games under our belt to work out some of the new jitters and we will also have some good film from them having to play Boise in week one. 38-17 feels about right.
  12. I was thinking the same thing- I'm not there until July. My guess is betting will drive the number up to 6.5 by then though.
  13. I like the dangle the carrot approach. Make it special again- even if that means only giving out a couple this first season. It should be something that is earned through great play, and great attitude- on and off the field. I use the same approach in baseball from T-Ball through Legion and it flat works. Sometimes it provides just a little extra motivation that pushes a player further than the competitiveness of the game would have taken them.
  14. He looked like a whole different player- Love it. I honestly didn't get all the hype based on what I saw last year but now I get it.
  15. For the people fortunate enough to be able to go frequently, I can see how Sirius would get old. I only go once or maybe twice a year and think it is an amazing experience every time. In the end, I could care less if we are winning.
  16. That speed...Reminded me of a young TM. How can we not have Adrian on the field September 1st? Geb and Bunch both looked solid but the constant home run threat Martinez provides is hard to leave out of the lineup!
  17. I only voted once for Brook. To me, he is a great fit for Scott's system but there are many good arguments for others. I'm guessing Scott could have made many of the guys on this list "serviceable". If Martinez were on this team this year, my guess is he wouldn't be playing QB but his speed would be utilized in another skill position.
  18. I have never used the stuff myself but I struggle to understand why the NFL cares if players use it where legal? I travel quite a bit and see our country changing quickly... recreational use is becoming much more common and open.
  19. In response to Gebbia's weight- He looked bigger 3 weeks ago than he did at fan day. Him and a few other huskers were at my son's high school for an FCA basketball scrimmage. He is looking more the part... time will tell. I'm with a lot of others- I have no idea but feel good that SF will start the guy giving us the best chance to win.
  20. Of course he will use the practice...smh. I have stood up for you in the past on here but you really do look for opportunities to tell people they are wrong. My point was for him to change his mind about not practicing before the break, he possibly saw an opportunity to communicate a message to the team before they went on break.
  21. I'm guessing that "practice" will be Scott and gang telling the boys to behave themselves over the break.
  22. Wow- People will complain about anything ... SMH. They have never sold out... They have held this scrimmage for over 60 years and people are mad that they actually pulled it off for the first time in the teams history??? Here is a news flash for those feeling anger over something so good- The World Doesn't Owe You Anything! Go work for it like the majority of us do. Congratulations to Mr. Frost and the University of Nebraska for this historical accomplishment.
  23. Smh... This was literally 5 pages of the same things being said over and over again. You guys have kicked this horse into the ground so far a shovel will be required to find it. We need new news of any kind.
  24. Can anyone post the official message? I still can't see Crap
