  1. Yeah the 2 time super bowl champion head coach who said that doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about.
  2. s#!t you are already making excuses for what hasn’t even happened yet. This is how you become Minnesota
  3. I wonder if we could get the team some medals of some sort for best 3-9 team in history. Put it next to the Natty trophies.
  4. Are we still the best 3-8 team of all time?
  5. I learned we play well enough against all our opponents to lose by less than 10. Oh wait- we already knew that. So my takeaway is I learned nothing new.
  6. Maybe having the opening kickoff taken to the house will give him something to consider.
  7. At least Osborne and Pelini won games. So you could argue they made the right decision. People are questioning Frost because we lose. A lot
  8. I never debated that they don’t have those things. But talent and coaching wins games. If we have the advantage in talent then we are getting out coached. In game and preparing for the game. Preparing in the offseason. You name it
  9. Is that you coach Riley. You already told Bookie to go to Oklahoma do you really need to tell our coaches to take a better job too
  10. Facts are facts. We outrecruit 10 of 12 teams on next years schedule pretty handily. It is all excuses from there. If you have more talent and still lose it means you are getting outcoached. Decision gets pretty easy then.
  11. So even though we have more talent than 10 of the 12 teams we play next year. Many of you are ok winning 6 games? So you are saying you are good losing against 4 inferior teams in year 5? Not me. Oklahoma and Michigan are the only 2 programs who have outrecruited us in the Frost Era.
  12. Do they have anything that shows how much time Martinez gets? Standard is the QB should be getting the ball released at about 2.5 seconds. If the defense is getting there at or before then its on the OL. If the OL is giving him that much time and Martinez is not getting it out by then it's on him.
  13. I would argue almost everyone would like to play us. No matter how bad of a day they have we will find a way to play just slightly lower than their output for the day, giving almost all P5 teams a win
  14. What offense any program runs should not be what the fans want. It should solely be what works and brings wins. Not saying those systems do that. But if they won a Natty in 5 years running the wishbone pretty sure Oklahoma fans won’t mind
  15. It is all about the coach. If we hired Urban Meyer we would compete for National Championships and recruit top 5 every year. Same if we hired Nick Saban. Same if we hired Dabo Sweeney. So that is why I scoff at all the bulls#!t experts that say it's too hard to win at Nebraska or you cant recruit there. With the right name leading the program and the right on field results it all falls into place. EDIT: I think Kirby Smart has worked his way into that category as well.
  16. Per this he coached the 2-5 record. So 5-7, 2-5, 9-1. 1 winning record out of 3. Kind sounds like Frost. 5 losing. 1 winning. Sorry but for me if you getting $10 million a year you have proven you can sustain success. College[edit] Year Team Overall Conference Standing Bowl/playoffs Colorado Buffaloes (Pac-12 Conference) (2019) 2019 Colorado 5–7 3–6 5th (South) Colorado: 5–7 3–6 Michigan State Spartans (Big Ten Conference) (2020–present) 2020 Michigan State 2–5 2–5 7th (East) 2021 Michigan State 9–1 6–1 Michigan State: 11–6 8–6 Total: 16–13
  17. What has he actually accomplished to get nearly 10 mill a year. He has a career 16-13 W-L record. Consider me confused if true.
  18. You can't just look at one stat like rushing. The top teams are good in all 3 phases. Whether they run or pass more is irrelevant. They have the players to make plays- catching or running. Plus paired it with a defense full of talent and solid special teams. I really don't think it matters much as long as you have the athletes to run your scheme. If we pass 60% and run 40% or run 60% and pass 40% I dont care. As long as we are good at what we are doing we will win.
  19. I cant think of all their names but I feel like we have had 2-3 4-5 star DBs transfer in the last 2 years. What's going on with those guys? Getting acclimated or overrated?
  20. I’m with you and I think fans need to look at it from a different perspective. Instead of accepting the last 4 pathetic years as acceptable and give Frost a pass to start building now. We need to be saying the reason we fired Riley is because what he produced in W-L was not acceptable and Frost was brought here to improve that. He has gotten worse. We need to be asking ourselves when we hired Frost where did we expect the program to be in year 5. I would venture to say 90% of the fans would say winning the west for sure. Why would we lower our standards? It seems some fans have lowered our standards to what they think Frost can achieve instead of setting the standard based on what Nebraska football expects
  21. You make some good points. I do agree with much of it. I do see it is a more difficult landscape to navigate today. But I also think today's coaches should be equipped to handle the current state of college football. The older coaches like Saban have shown how great of a coach they are because they have adapted to the new way of doing things and still been successful.
  22. NO offense but I think the segment of the fan base who thinks like this have just given up. We are 1 good hire away from being good again. Many programs have gone through down times- hell Nebraska went through 8 coaches from 1940-1960 chasing the right coach and then we hit on Devaney and that set us up for the next 50 years. Times change, like anything in life you will have failures, you will have hard times. If you want to be the next Minnesota then accept s#!tty results. If you want to keep pushing to find greatness again you pick yourself back up and keep striving for greatness. The only way to turn into Minnesota is if Nebraska gives up. There really is an insane amount of excuses we tell ourselves. But at the end of the day they are just excuses. People say you can't recruit up north cause its cold. Well Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State do just fine. Well Nebraska is different cause they don't have a local talent pool so they have to recruit nationally- yep tell that to Oregon. I truly believe none of that matters when you have the right coach. What was clemson before Dabo? Look at Miami, Florida, Florida State, Texas, USC, LSU, Georgia, Tennessee, Notre Dame- all have had years of hiring and firing chasing the right guy. The list can go on and on. Or other programs who are historically irrelevant but when they had the right coach they did Great. Mangino at Kansas, Leach at Texas Tech, Bowling Green and Utah with Urban, stanford under harbaugh, kstate under snyder, baylor under briles. Honestly it is more about the coach than it is the program. BUT, the reason you see historically the same programs are good is because they are the programs who didn't accept mediocrity they kept chasing greatness. The ones who had 1 and done coaches accept the s#!tty results.
