Leach would be horrible fit. Kelly would probably put a good product on the field but I dont think he would bring stability to the program. He would bolt for a top west coast job or another shot at the league if he gets a chance. Frost can do the same things on offense Kelly can- the difference is he would be committed to Nebraska. And he is a young guy in his early 40's so he could bring stability to the program for the next 20-30 years like osborne did.

On the flip side guys. So of the last 3 coaching hires. The fan favorite "Pelini" was much more successful than the other 2 coaches who were not "Fan Favorites". Pelini was not perfect and I think we needed to move on from him. Just recognize the fan favorite was heads and tails better on the field than Callahan and Riley.

Guys moos made a statement Nebraska would be up there with Ohio state and bama in 5 years. No chance that happens if we keep Riley for 3 years. He wouldn't make that statement unless he was giving his guy enough time.

Couldnt have said it better myself. I would guess Frost turned them down and is talking to Nebraska. I am sure Frost's agent is fanning info about Florida being a possibility for contract negotiations leverage with Nebraska.

I agree. Anything can happen until someone signs on the dotted line. Something I do know is he wants the Nebraska job, so assuming we have offered him he wont be staying at UCF. I guess if Florida gets crazy and offers him 8 million a year maybe he ends up there. If his heart is in nebraska I could see him picking nebraska at 5 million a year over florida at 6 million. But too big of a gap is hard to turn down.

Not necessarily. 5 years to get to alabama and ohio state status. But year 2 could be division win. year 3 or 4 could be conference championship. Year 5 in the running for NC.

Sounds like anyone around Florida doesnt seem to know anything. Seems like alot of people around the nebraska program are starting to hear the same things about negotiations are happening.

I have mentioned in other threads before that I have a source close to Scott Frost and I have been told Frost wants the Nebraska job. So to hear other people say they have sources telling them also that frost wants the job and that a contract negotiation is going on is in line with the source I have. I know many of you dont believe anything anyone says on this board- but for any posters not just looking to be a smart ass. My source is good.

It does seem to line up with the fact Florida list of top 3 coaches doesnt have frost on it. More than likely he would have turned them down to not be in the top 3. My money is on charlie strong going to florida. Kelly will hold out for UCLA job.

So we have 1 guy that has a trusted source that says they are in contract negotiations with Frost. Essentially that he has accepted the job they are just working out the fine details. Joking comments aside- is there anyone else that seriously has any sources that have heard similiar things?

Maybe if he really likes all Nebraska has to offer. Outside of not winning games right now. He seems to like Oregon. So maybe the oregon offense at nebraska would put him over the top to prefer nebraska.

So for awhile it was down to N or ohio state. Then shifted to N or penn state. There has been no scuttle butt about anything nebraska anymore. Guessing this is dead now?

I didnt watch the spring game. Guessing we had our DB's 15 yards off the receiver like we do during the season?

To change directions a little bit. I think there has been a good amount of talent that was not rated a 4 star or not in the top 250 but turned out to be great players that slipped through our fingers. If my memory serves me right Iowa has done a good job of recognizing talent in Nebraska better than we have. Didnt they have all all conference O-Lineman a few years back from Nebraska and obviously Fant is kicking butt right now.

Does he seem pretty fast on film. Not to beat a dead horse but assuming we land our top head coach option. Frost offense seems to function well with a burner at RB.

For those of you good at digging up info. So Bookie basically said he was not positive on his commitment starting back in May. Is there anything publicly traceable that happened back in May possibly or late april after the spring game? What is evident is that his decommitment has nothing to do with the homers that blame it on the media publicly saying its because riley is getting fired. He decommitted now but starting wavering in the spring.

Does anyone know if either of those 2 ever amounted to anything. IE starters or made it to the league? Significant playing time etc.

Makes sense. Maybe he means he doesnt feel nebraska will prep him for the league and get him drafted as high as possible so he can make $$ to support his family.

i don't think anything is improving this year, we can play a tough game this week then the two games after that we will get our teeth kicked in so not sure I see much improving going on there. Which leaves us either 4-8 or 5-7 on the year. The only improvement is a new staff. With what you say above about no point discussing the coaching change- couldn't the same argument be made for recruiting. We have no control so why does this board exist? My main point was that until any recruits reaffirm commitment to the new staff I wouldn't get too attached to thinking guys like Joshua Moore will come until he commits to new staff that's all. Save some heartburn.
