  1. Has anyone translated the diaco quote yet? Curious what this "strain" is all about.
  2. Agree. The biggest thing everyone should be focusing on is who the next head coach will be. Once that is done- then we can focus on who we can get or keep in the class. No one is committed until they reaffirm commitment to the new staff.
  3. What else would the coaches say. "Yeah I am getting s#!t canned at the end of the year" Where do you hear he might step down? Anything published or hear say?
  4. Does he have any more visits set up this year? We would be his 3rd commitment so wondering if it would be the last.
  5. Maybe he wants to see if it looks as bad in person as it does on tv
  6. Good to see Cav is going after some low hanging fruit.
  7. These are the type of kids we can hang on to with a coaching change I think so lets lock them up.
  8. He is not the highest rated guy in our current class. But he very well may be the best now that Bookie is gone. I thought he looked like the smoothest route runner with solid hands at FNL.
  9. Where is he originally from before IMG?
  10. We don't know the full reason why he decommitted but I don't think it is because he knows or thinks Riley is getting fired. He said in his statement he was solid through April 2017. His first signs of maybe he was having doubts was all the twitter drama and Florida hat stuff back in July. That was before the season even started and every fan was thinking Riley was turning the corner and building great recruiting class. So seems like he was having doubts before the season so the doubts didn't start due to wins or losses. It maybe helped push him to the decommittment but he already had doubts . Wish we knew what started his doubts over the summer
  11. You have some good points. I just have seen this similar narrative about Notre Dame and the big ten in general. The big ten is dead, the population and talent has gone south Bla bla bla. Notre dame is back and so is the big 10. So will Nebraska with the right coach. but back to bookie before the thread nazi's get upset
  12. Something to ponder. Is our location really that big of a deal? I find that hard to believe given that Nebraska is a top 5 all time winning program. If talent was so hard to come by, how did we get all those wins. Would it be fair to say schools like Florida, USC, Texas etc all under perform since they should all be a top 5 program every year with all the talent around them. I think it all points to the head coach is what matters the most. Recruits follow great coaches. Just my opinion that we have everything you need to succeed here.
  13. Are we going to show him film of the UCF offense. Sorry guys I couldnt resist.
  14. "Impact of poor performance on the field"? We got our answer last night.
  15. Well said. Everyone needs to remember all the teams that are good now had to fire the previous coach to get the guy they have now.
  16. You do realize the bookie questions started back in July before the season even started? Let's not blame the university. Sorry but the blame for being a .500 coach at Nebraska just like he was at Oregon state is on none other than Riley. No excuses it's who he is. He did buy in to the vision but he is watching year 3 unfold in front of his eyes and realizes it was bulls#!t. This is a top 5 all time winning program it's not too much to ask to find a winning coach who also represents the school well.
  17. Unless we start winning games he will pick one of the other 2
  18. Well said. To add to that I can't stomach watching the staff being so excited about barely beating a team the caliber of Purdue anymore.
  19. I think if we were to put a percentage of Riley getting us to 9 wins it would be about .005%
  20. He is prob watching the frost offense thinking he is good if Riley stays or goes
  21. I cant speak for everyone. He wont leave but it doesnt mean he cant agree to an offer with a delayed announcement. But my thought is that Florida has no coach thus they could throw out an offer under the table right now. So Hypothetical scenario. Lets say Nebraska is #1 option for frost and florida would be #2. Say next week Florida offers $5 million a year to frost with a 2 week expiration date on the offer. That would be pretty hard to turn down that money for your #2 option if you dont even know for sure if your #1 option will have a coaching vacancy or if you will get offered the job from nebraska. It would be pretty easy for Florida to do something like that without anyone knowing. They are both in florida so tracking travel etc would be pretty hard to follow if they met. My only point being they have a leg up on trying to secure him before we even know if we will fire Riley. Assuming Frost is the best candidate and who we want- that would suck to lose out to Florida.
  22. Another way to look at it with these kids is like this. I dont see why they need to hold up their end of the bargain and stay committed. Because our coaching staff has not held up their end of the bargain and fielded a quality- well coached team on the rise.
  23. I don't blame him at all, we are a dumpster fire right now. I think we might have a better chance to keep some of the recruits if they like the new hire in lieu of keeping Riley. I know they support Riley in public but they don't want to play Purdue to the last second.
  24. Highly rated DT in our 500 mile radius should be a top priority. OL and DL commits should be as important as QB. Bama has won a few titles with mediocre QB play due to superior lines.
