  1. Thought I would start this for fun. Saban, harbaugh, urban Meyer and James Franklin are off the table. I like scott frost and a long shot but a great fit would be Kirby smart. He has Georgia rolling and sounds like he is a saban clone. Great defense and hard nosed running game. But he is Georgia alumni.
  2. Has anyone noticed it doesnt seem like there is alot of buzz about any 2019 guys? I remember last year at this time there was a few name guys everyone was buzzing that we were in on. Or had a good shot at. Bookie being the main one. I just havnt noticed alot of buzz about next years class yet. Perception is not reality- just saying it doesnt seem like it has as much steam as 18.
  3. Your ABC applies to any candidate so not sure your point outside of stating the 3 possible outcomes. Frost amongst other possible candidates will have everyone hopeful since our current staff has us swirling down the toilet- or as you mentioned above option C. I see no harm in fans excited that an alum is a popular up and coming coach catching attention all around the country not just Nebraska.
  4. Agree. If your going to play Tyjon then use him how you should. He should be playing the slot like JD Spielman. They are using him like he is a #1 WR playing the outside. He is not 6'2 or taller body type. His body type and his agility is perfectly suited for the slot. Short, quick routes, changing directions etc.
  5. How awesome would josh Moore, cam brown be in frosts open space scheme
  6. Especially knowing they knew of this knee issue. Riley mentioned it was like this in high school. He just has an old knee he said. So this isnt a surprise.
  7. As far as defections I think some people should realize some of this will have to do with Riley being on the hot seat but also because we look absolutely horrible. Keeping Riley to hold the class together isnt a given. Some of these kids would probably bolt due to how horrible we look.
  8. Agree, I dont know what the heck they are doing with Tyjon. Waste of talent and waste of a year. Go ahead and add Bradley to that list.
  9. I know I have no problem getting a qb, I just have issue with waiting till 2 months before early signing to decide hey maybe we should get a qb. Late to the party. If it's obvious we should take a qb every year someone should let Langs and Riley know
  10. Lee has been playing better and more efficient. So that might actually have me more worried. With him playing pretty good and we still look as bad as we do. Offensive line has done pretty good protecting him and opening up some lanes for backs. Receivers did not have many drops against ohio state. It is cause for concern when you look at our team and say what are we good at? Nothing was obviously bad. Is it play calling? Offensive scheme as a whole? No leaders? Maybe Lee has skills but not a motivator? IDK guys. There is alot of good quarterbacks that dont win. Then alot of not good quarterbacks who do win. Tebow was not a talented QB but refused to lose and was a leader. So give me a guy with some heart over a guy with Talent who doesnt know how to win. I have hope for a guy like Gebbia. As hard as you hear he works and studies film. I think he has that leadership quality and drive to be great.
  11. I don't know how coaches sell the vision after this game
  12. I think we should learn from our past mistake of taking anything from Oregon state
  13. I agree with your initial viewpoint. If Bounds was thinking Riley would still be here he would leave him to do his thing. Why meddle. But if he is thinking Riley "May" not be here its a good idea to have Riley and staff present with the recruits to break the ice and help him build a relationship with some of these guys and their parents. He is simply hedging his bet.
  14. I was listening to 1620 the zone yesterday and Damon Benning was talking about something I found interesting. He mentioned we need a "saturday" coach. Guys who are coaching the kids when they come to the sideline and making adjustments. This regime and the prior with pelini it seemed like it was the same excuses after games- "oh i am encouraged, we just have some execution to clean up". Why is it the last 2 regimes it has been fundamentals plaguing why we lose. Lack of discipline and fundamentals falls solely on coaches to have the guys game ready- then be able to adjust in game. The last 2 regimes it seems if something is working it works all game against our defense.
  15. Passive aggressive is not being direct and saying what's on your mind but trying to make a point in a round about way to avoid confrontation. I'm pretty sure I was direct in my thoughts
  16. This is a message board. A discussion board. This is not a published media outlet. It seems all you want to see on here is re-posting articles or facts that some media outlet posted. If you just want to see a summary page of published articles huskermax will get you that. I did not pose the question direct to you, others commented with their thoughts like they are entitled to do. If you didnt want to partake then dont. I have seen pages get off track with people rambling about worthless stuff for like 15-20 posts in a row before someone chimes in to get back on track. There was 2 posts that followed mine and neither were worthless rambling so I am just saying I think it was a little premature to control the content. But lets stop talking about this under BRH. If you want to discuss the rules for how everyone should post on this message board maybe start a new thread.
  17. This thread on Wisconsin recruiting just proves how inaccurate the Riley sales pitch is in this article. Yes recruiting is important but our players are on par or better than Wisconsin so why are we so inconsistent compared to them. Patient to get to national championship level yes I agree. Patient to be respectable week in and week out has come and gone it's year 3. He took over 9 win program, he isn't building Oregon state from ground up http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/big-ten-teleconference-time-for-growth-recruiting-is-key-in/article_ab8dfd24-add6-11e7-963f-b7c21825585b.html
  18. I understand and my intention was not to discuss who the next football coach is or if they pull the trigger this year or next. If you read my post the question is essentially if they get rid of Riley this year is he solid enough Nebraska to still come or is he only really committed to Riley? Fair question and 100% bookie related. Also important because as I said if he is committed Nebraska and not Riley I think he could keep whole class together regardless of coach
  19. Some conversations are intertwined. The convo started based off is bookie solid to Nebraska or just Riley. His article sounded all pro Nebraska and comradery with players and recruits. So question was posed that if he is solid enough Nebraska to stay even if coach leaves. Also why is discussing the inevitable head coach issue so bad? No reason to have head in sand, do you think they fired eichorst for any reason other than getting new football coach. Pretending the decision on Riley has not already been made is naive
  20. I see what your saying but in defense of everyone I think recruiting and head coach are very intertwined. Hard to talk one without the other at this point unfortunately
  21. New Bookie Article. Sounds real solid. Hopefully he is truly committed to Nebraska and not just Riley. If Riley gets canned and Bookie stays on board I think he can keep the class together. https://www.landof10.com/nebraska/nebraska-brendan-radley-hiles-weekend-memorial-stadium
