Wisky OL Recruiting for Past 7 Years
Huskers93-97 replied to NoLongerN's topic in Football Recruiting
I think they know their offensive identity and what they want to do, much like huskers of old. So since they are consistent in what they do and what they look for it's easy to target guys who fit the mold regardless of what ranking sites say. We lost our identity 15 years ago and every coach has changed the offense ever since. Whisky has changed coaches but the scheme stays the same. Makes recruiting easy and less down years like we have experienced IMO -
I understand we need all positions, but line play has been bad most of the year and I don't see much recruiting going on there. Wisconsin didn't need any receivers the last 3 drives and why? Good oline play and depth. We wore out due to no depth, no rotating

Impact of Poor Performance on Recruiting
Huskers93-97 replied to HuskerNation1's topic in Football Recruiting
Ohio st line just opened at 22.5, assuming that happens or probably worse what's thoughts on how rest of season plays out and how that impacts recruiting, coaching change possibilities? -
I wish we would just get more guys in the trenches visiting instead of all receivers and dbs. Receivers and dbs are not what we need to beat Wisconsin and other good teams

I agree but the lack of stability here cannot be ignored for how it will impact recruiting -
When you consider the entire class seems to have coordinated and communicated and decided this was the game they were all coming to is pretty cool when you think about it. Means it could be the start of a strong team building. A strong class for future leadership. Warrior10 to your point. I totally get what your saying- the entire committed class is here this weekend. BUT him.

Win this game. Pick up another nice commitment this week. Play competitive football next weekend against ohio state and everything will take care of itself.

Fingers crossed the friday commit creates the same flurry of commits like when Bookie committed on friday before spring game.

Has Riley Accomplished "Momentum" for Nebraska?

Kind of surprised how average Callahan classes look too. Misconception his classes were great he just couldn't coach -

I would be curious to see how the average would look if you took out guys who transferred and never made an impact. Seems so far Riley has kept all his kids once on campus. Seemed like our highest rated kids pelini recruited always left and didn't stay in program -
Once cav starts sending out those tweets it will seal the deal

If frost stays on upward trajectory that he is now and say he ends up at nebraska as head coach. I would think Parrella would have legit shot because he is nebraska Alum. too. Not to mention Frost is running a 3-4 defense as well so Parrella would fit the mold for coaching that front. PS. I will admit i was hesitant about Frost. But seeing what he is doing now- if he can finish the year this strong he could draw comparisons to Tom Herman and Urban Meyer. -

When a new staff comes in, whenever that is. I would like to see both williams and parrella get a good look at staying. Parrella has made some good strides developing the kids they have. -

I dont recall Pelini ever getting as many highly rated guys interested, coming for visits and committing to Nebraska. Take this years commits and the last 2 recruiting cycles for Riley. What is his average rating per recruit based on 247 ranking? I bet it is quite a bit higher than Pelini. Pelini always filled out the classes in terms of numbers so the team recruiting rankings were probably similiar to Riley so far- but I bet the quality is better under riley. -
CB Brendan Radley-Hiles [Oklahoma - Signed LOI]
Huskers93-97 replied to Mavric's topic in 2018 Profiles
I think the game this weekend will tell us how the rest of this season is going to play out. If the defensive improvement we have seen the last few weeks is real and holds up against a real team like wisconsin and we play tough even if we dont win. I will like how the year finishes. Outside of ohio state and penn state I think the rest could be winnable. Now if this weekend is embarassing- the year is going to get ugly im afraid. -

But yes I agree watching that video he is 100% N. Def the most pro N he has sounded in awhile. Tutt and Parsons would be great addition. -

All Cav had on his plate this year was land 1 kid. I would think putting all focus and attention on 1 position spot open would yield better results or at a minimum some serious interest. -
Eichorst getting fired is the first domino. Steve Pederson hired- Pederson fires frank solich then hires bill callahan. Steve pederson fired- Osborne takes over- osborne fired callahan hires pelini. Osborne retires/is forced out- Eichorst is hired- Eichorst fires pelini hires riles Eichorst fired- New AD is hired. then .................................. You do the math.

Where did you see that warrior? The reason i ask is because i saw this post by someone else "I'm watching Big Red Wrap Up and Bookie was on via phone call. When asked if he was still coming to NU he said he didn't know" -

Here is latest Bookie Diary. https://www.landof10.com/nebraska/nebraska-commit-brendan-radley-hiles-diary-lessons-and-not-losses -
Ill admit I had a day or 2 after that last game I was feeling pretty hopeless about the program. Trying to be positive about this year. Just look at the schedule and where we are now. Take it game by game. Would you agree wisconsin, ohio state and penn state are losses? That leaves 6 more games. We would need to win all remaining 6 games to make it to 7-5. There is only 9 games remaining. Plus bowl game would make 10. But only 9 guaranteed. If we can get him for a visit, play a solid game against say wisconsin and pull off an upset. That atmosphere could win him in my opinion.
