  1. And had they called those two he wouldn't have been playing. Just those two obvious ones. I know they missed dozens of fouls both ways because B1G officiating is nothing if not inconsistent. Hell, if Illinois had any guts he wouldn't even be on the team. I know if I was a woman on their campus, I would be filing Title Nine complaints about them allowing an indited rapist on campus. I know that his lawyers went to court to get him reinstated, but the school caved immediately because they didn't really want to suspend him but did so because of media pressure. The university & especially the athletic department got exactly what they wanted. They appeared to be "tough", but had no choice when a judge ruled that his rights had been violated, they didn't appeal.
  2. Did Nebraska play poorly in the second half? Yes, but without Shannon Illinois isn't in position to put up 58.
  3. Hard to win when it's 8 on 5 in the second half. Shannon should have fouled out with about 10 minutes to go. Ran over Lawrence right in front of the ref & no call. Grabbed Allick when he was trying to inbound the ball as he got up should have been fouls 3 & 5 ( they actually called on on him in between).
  4. Diop looked pretty good considering he doesn't play much.
  5. Officials have screwed Wisconsin the last two trips down the court.
  6. We probably don't want to go 100 mph with Illinois, but we won't wnt to go too slow either.
  7. Huskers could move up to a 6 if they win today & lose close tomorrow (preferably to Purdue). If they lose close to Illinois today they should stay where they are. They could put three B1G teams in the same region as long as they wouldn't face another B1G team until the sweet 16.
  8. Huskers are a 4.5 point underdog with an over/under of 153.5. ESPN BPI gives them a 29.6% chance to win. Rice is out, Keita is available for emergencies & Ulis is suspended. GBR!
  9. I was wrong about Wisconsin, so hopefully Nebraska will shoot great tomorrow too.
  10. Twice it's been out off Indiana and they missed it.
  11. Doesn't matter how many seconds are on the shot clock if you miss the fact that it was out off Indiana.
  12. Michigan is looking for a new coach. Not a big surprise, but sometimes AD's have trouble pulling the plug on a former great player - look how long Georgetown stuck with Patrick Ewing. Michigan fires Juwan Howard: Wolverines dismiss coach after disappointing 8-24 mark in 2023-24 season - CBSSports.com Michigan fires coach Juwan Howard after 8-24 season - ESPN
  13. Edey is likely NPOY, so he gets all the calls & his teammates get a lot. Izzo is the Dean of B1G coaches so his team gets a lot of calls too. It's probably really confusing for the officials because they don't know who to screw over.
  14. I pull my info from ESPN, so not always the most reliable lines but close enough for government work.
  15. Money's going on the Huskers & under. Lines are NU by 5.5 over/under of 145.5.
  16. Would have been nice if they hadn't gotten the tip in at the end and the game went to OT last night.
  17. Huskers are a 3.5 point favorite with an over/under of 146.5. ESPN BPI gives them a 72.1% chance to win. Rice is out, Keita is available for emergencies, Ulis is suspended. GBR!
  18. A lot of times a team will shoot lights out one night and can't hit water from the deck of the Titanic the next, so my guess is Northwestern crushes them tomorrow.
  19. Edey going from 436th recruit to POY says more about Edey and his desire to improve than any coach. I'm not saying that Painter had nothing to do with it, but the best coach in the world can't make a player better if the player doesn't give the effort. Coaches schedule their NC games based on what is best for their team. Painter knew he had a team that could handle a very tough schedule. Hoiberg knew he needed to play an easy schedule because the team had to build chemistry. I'm sure the Huskers will have a tougher NC schedule next year because the chemistry is already there. It probably won't be a top 10 schedule, but it won't be in the 300 range either.
  20. He may have let the powers that be know the lack of clarity is a problem and their lack of response could be the reason he's thinking about leaving. I've had jobs where I took issues to my boss & nothing happened. It's really frustrating & part of the reason I no longer work at those places.
  21. The problem is that it isn't something he can fix. He can't fix the board of regents or the governor who's boots they lick. You'd think that pillen being a former football player would do everything he can to make the university & it's athletic department happy, but he's more interested in avoiding press conferences where he might have to explain why he does what he does.
  22. Part of it would depend on who they beat to get there. If they beat the higher seeds (Indiana, Illinois & Purdue) they could end up a 5 ir 6. If they play a bunch of teams that pull upsets in earlier rounds, they probably don't move up much.
  23. Agreed! Painter getting coach of the year for coaching his team to exactly what was expected is complete BS. Collins finishing 3rd is nearly as bad when Ben Johnson at Minnesota did a much better job than Painter and Collins.
  24. I agree - OSU & Iowa are hoping to make a run and make the NCAA tournament. Indiana, Penn State & Michigan have virtually no chance to make it, so they have less incentive to play.
