  1. Most of the time they are pretty close. Usually only miss a couple of teams and seeding is usually within one seed. This probably doesn't apply to all 103 brackets at Bracket Matrix, but it is a pretty good guess as to who at least is in the conversation.
  2. No real movement in the projections this week. Not much of a surprise since Nebraska didn't play any games this week. Dropped to an 11 at ESPN - last team with a bye. Playing Texas Tech in Pittsburgh. Stayed an 11 at CBS Sports - last four in, so playing opening round in Dayton against Utah for the right to play Oklahoma in Brooklyn. Dropped to an 11 seed at Bracket Matrix. On 101 of 103 brackets. Highest seed is an 8, lowest is a 12.
  3. ESPN's latest bracket has them a 10 seed playing Colorado State in Omaha. NCAA Bracketology: 2024 March Madness men's field predictions (espn.com) CBS has them an 11 seed playing Colorado in the first four for the right to play Oklahoma in Brooklyn. 2024 NCAA Tournament Bracket Predictions - Bracketology - College Basketball - CBSSports.com Bracket Matrix has them an 11 seed appearing on 92 of 94 brackets (last updated yesterday) The Bracket Project's Bracket Matrix - 2024 Their computer numbers are 51 at Ken Pom, 48 at Bart Torvik, 53 in the NET, 52 in the BPI & 38 in the SOR. NET has them 3-5 against Q1, 3-3 vs Q2 & 11-0 vs Q3-4. They have one Q1 game left (at OSU - NET 71), 2 Q2 Games (at Indiana - NET 100, at Michigan - NET 108). All three home games are Q3.
  4. 3-3 probably gets the Huskers in, but they can't afford to lose any home games. All three remaining home games would be considered a bad loss. It would be better to pick up a road win to go 4-2 & a win in the B1G tournament would be a bonus to show the selection committee that they can win away from PBA.
  5. Huskers are currently a 10.5 point favorite with an over/under of 150.5. ESPN give them a 79.8% to win. Rice is out, Keita is available for emergencies & Ulis is suspended. GBR!
  6. Huskers are a 10 seed vs Mississippi State in Austin in ESPN's latest Women's bracket. NCAA Women's Bracketology - 2024 women's college basketball projections (espn.com)
  7. ESPN updated their bracket today playing Colorado State in Pittsburgh. Huskers are an 11 seed & one of the last 4 byes. NCAA Bracketology: 2024 March Madness men's field predictions (espn.com) CBS has them an 11 seed (last team in) playing Texas A&M in the first four for the right to play Utah State in Memphis. 2024 NCAA Tournament Bracket Predictions - Bracketology - College Basketball - CBSSports.com Bracket Matrix has them as a 9 seed and on 94 of 96 brackets, but it was last updated yesterday. 8. Tominaga had a better game last night than Buie had here, so I don't get the point of mocking him. Northwestern is like the kid on the playground that never wins and when they do, they don't know how to handle it and act like complete a-holes.
  9. NCAA Men are also the only ones that play haves instead of quarters.
  10. Straight out of the 23/24 NCAA Mens rulebook.
  11. After a timeout, the 10 second rule resets. If the ball goes out of bounds and the team keeps possession the 10 seconds does not reset. Stupid rule, but that's the NCAA for you.
  12. The B1G hasn't helped them much with their schedule. They have played 11 games in 35 days between 1/3 & last night. Including the Michigan game on Saturday they will play seven games in 31 days to end the season. I understand that they are young and in really good shape, but that many physical games in that short time period takes a toll. They are the only team that has played 13 conference games. Iowa plays Penn State tonight & it will be both teams' 12th game. No B1G games on Friday, so Nebraska will be the only team at 14 by the end of the day on Saturday.
  13. Rebounding & defense, why bother with either of those.
  14. And Northwestern is right there too.
  15. Hopefully it (IL game) shows the Huskers how much effort they have to give in road games in the B1G if they want to avoid being blown out.
  16. Odds makers originally set the line at 3.5. ESPN BPI predicts Northwestern by 4.7, Bart Torvik has Northwestern by 4.3 with a predicted score of 75-71. Based on what is above I'd say the irrational fans are driving the line. I'm not saying computer predictions are perfect, but they should be impartial. The only home game Northwestern has lost this season is to Chicago State (the game after they beat Purdue).
  17. Line is up to 6.5 & over/under is down to 141.5. Everyone must think Nebraska's game at Illinois was a fluke.
  18. Huskers have eight games left in the regular season. Two are Q1(at Northwestern, at Ohio State), two are Q2 (at Indiana, at Michigan) & four are Q3 (home games against Michigan, Penn State, Minnesota, Rutgers). They can't afford to lose any home games & it would be nice to see them at least split the road games. Their current NET is 52, KenPom is 47, Bart Torvik is 48, BPI is 52, BPI SOR is 32. They are 3-4 against Q1, 3-3 vs Q2, 10-0 vs Q3-4. They have the easiest remaining schedule in the B1G (80th). Northwestern is 2nd easiest at 68. Michigan has the hardest at 6th.
  19. Huskers currently 5.5 point underdogs (line started at 3.5) with an over/under of 142.5. ESPN BPI gives them a 31.9% chance to win. Keita is available for emergency use only, unsure about Rice, Lloyd & Coleman. Ulis is suspended. GBR!
  20. I think we are on the work need to be done because there is over a month to go, so a 9 seed could crash at the end of the season and not make it. It's also two different people doing the lists. Basically their work is to not lose games they should win.
  21. Lunardi has the Huskers up to a 9 seed playing Clemson in Brooklyn in today's ESPN bracketology update. NCAA Bracketology - 2024 March Madness men's field predictions (espn.com) Bracket Matrix has them as a 10 seed & on all 88 brackets. Highest seed is 8, lowest is 12. The Bracket Project's Bracket Matrix - 2024
  22. Huskers are in "Work to do" on ESPN's bubble watch.
  23. CBS Sports' most recent bracket has the Huskers as a 10 seed playing BYU in Salt Lake. Palm also has Gonzaga out despite their gaudy NET ranking. This is in reply to the comparison of Gonzaga vs Nebraska above.
  24. Huskers sitting at 52 in the NET, 46 at Ken Pom, 50 at Bart Torvik, 53 in ESPN's BPI & 30 in BPI SOR. ESPN will update their bracketology tomorrow morning, I think CBS should update this afternoon. Bracket Matrix should update sometime today, but I have no idea when.
  25. Mast getting fouled at the end was not the only time Illinois "stripped" the ball and no foul was called. Virtually every time they drove and the ball was stripped there was a lot of arm & a little ball (especially in the first half), but on the other end it was always called. The other thing that annoys me is that every time Keisei comes off a screen the defender is grabbing his jersey and it gets called maybe once per game. If they truly want to have freedom of movement, then that needs to be called every time. Tominaga would shoot 20 free throws a game and the other team would be in foul trouble five minutes into the game.
