Poll - How Many Wins - 2023 Season
Head Coach Scott Frost replied to TGHusker's topic in Husker Football
I have been hopeful for 7-5, but the presser last Saturday dropped me to 5-7. Rhule said missed field goals and poor offensive procedures which means we're plagued with the same issues of the last half decade. Therefore, I expect a repeat of those years. -

I'm sure he would 'Take a Crack at it' so to speak. -
** 2023 Opponent Preview : Northwestern (Game 7) **
Head Coach Scott Frost replied to Saunders's topic in Husker Football
We weren't physical enough in practices leading up to the season. We were destined to loss to just about anyone until we caught up. If we started the season with Iowa and ended with Northwestern I guarantee we loss to Iowa and beat Northwestern. -
We also could move him to OL

If I was a draft analyst and I couldn't decide between an Ohio state guy and a Group of 5 player I would 100% pick the Ohio State guy. You'll look so much less stupid if you're wrong

Is it too late to swap Purdy and Smothers?

I mean we are in thread titled overractions and I did start my post by saying I'll overract

Minnesota looked good in what I saw of their spring game. With half their staff leaving and losing a bunch of key players, I thought they might be in shambles and they just aren't. They seem to have replaced Ibrahim with a really solid young running back. Their kicker is amazing. They seem to be the same tough, physical team. I think Vegas is right and for the third straight head coach we will start their tenure off with a loss. On the bright side I was shocked at how bad Wisconsin looked.

Ok I will overreact. This game did not instill confidence in me. Turnovers and penalties killed us for the last half decade and that's what we got in spades. I thought Rhule was a detail guy who would cut those down. After Sims and Casey our QB room is not good. I'm ready to personally transfer a couple of them. I don't know what position I want HH to play, but it's not QB. The Two TEs we're all very excited about looked pedestrian. Our offensive line looked like it hasn't improved. I'm annoyed that we attempted a 48 yarder into the wind. That is such a hard kick and we all knew he was going to miss when he lined up. Getting to a bowl game is going to be hard.

What players leave after the season? 2022/23 version
Head Coach Scott Frost replied to Red Five's topic in Husker Football
Hausmann to Michigan is still really annoying. This whole cheer for the b10 because that's good for Nebraska is a joke. It's actually not good for Nebraska for other programs in our conference to look awesome and take our players. I really hope TCU clocks them, not holding my breath though. -
New Defensive Coordinator - TONY WHITE

Really happy Rhule reached out. In order my preferences for Leonhard: 1. Come to Nebraska and bring Wisc players 2. Get him the hell out of the B10 -
Ed Foley Hired as Special Teams Coordinator
Head Coach Scott Frost replied to Bigred_inSD's topic in Husker Football
Previously, it was like pulling teeth to get coordinator for something that is one third of the game. I like that it wasn't even a question this go around. -
Where do we go as a program? That's the easy question. I have no idea how to traverse that as a family. For the program though? This very quickly answered the biggest outstanding question.

How come Chip Kelly's name never comes up? If we could combine UCLA's speed with Husker power, we might never lose

What did we learn? Minnesota edition
Head Coach Scott Frost replied to Red Five's topic in Husker Football
A lot of people on twitter and here seem very upset. I might be in the minority here, but now that we have an interim coach and an injured starting QB, it doesn't bother me when we lose. Bowl game was a long shot anyway. Next year we'll be in a better place with a full staff and more developed players. -
Other people who failed in the NFL - Nick Saban and Urban Meyer. Success in the NFL is largely tied to having a great QB. Rhule was able to build up programs twice not just one flash in a pan. I feel like I'm usually the pessimist. No reason to be a pessimist with this hire if true.

** 2022 Opponent Previews : Purdue (Game 7) **
Head Coach Scott Frost replied to Saunders's topic in Husker Football
Mickey Joseph starts things off with a great week of practice. I think we can officially cross him off as a HC candidate. -
I think I remember him dropping two passing in the spring game too

Totally different. Buffalo is a G5 that has to play P5 teams and he still had a winning record including bowl game wins. Mike Riley was .500 including playing cupcake G5 teams. Right now he's proving that without star talent he can develop fundamentals well enough to take one of 2 programs that hasn't had a bowl in five years (we're the other one) to looking like a real team despite the talent gap. Yes this year, but also towards the end of last year as well. Some people mentioned that it was weird that I want him because he's a state over. That's not why I want him. There are many solid coaches that seem to be regional. I'm saying that him being more of a Midwest guy makes me think pulling him is an easier sell. As far as his age, to quote a former president "I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience"

Why are more people not excited about Lance Leopold? Dude took a total crap show in Kansas and made them look like something. He's had success everywhere else he's been. Seems very realistic relocate him a state north.

Yea I'm going to need a new user name. The problem is the next coach is harder to predict
