  1. You're watching a different movie than I am friend. His name is on hot seat lists this year, (as is Frost for what that's worth), but Herman didn't win a title at Texas as a player to give him extra leash. They don't take kindly to losing to TCU and being irrelevant nationally with their level of resources and program support, just like Nebraska. There really isn't an excuse to not be great at Texas where you can build a top 15 recruiting class every year without leaving the state. If they go 6-4 or 5-5 this year I could see him getting fired, they get OU next week and would be back at .500 with an L. They also just escaped Tech last week in OT and gave up 50+. That's my long winded way of saying I disagree they are on the right track, haha.
  2. And maybe you should actually read the posters handles before responding
  3. Under. Number of wins Nebraska gets in 2020 - 4
  4. Can we just play a game already? The lengths people are going to find something to talk about is beyond peak offseason. 40 years in the desert without Husker football. Oh look, a Runza emoji.
  5. KJ Costello just set the SEC single game passing record in both Leach's first game and Bo's first game (back). Entertaining game.
  6. Agree but I'm coming around to the schedule setup. This is a huge opportunity for momentum and could really be the springboard this team needs to finally have confidence. Play Ohio State tough, beat Wisconsin and NW and see what happens at home versus PSU. 2-2 any way you get there is a huge step forward. The only bad scenario I see is 0-4 honestly, 1-3 is expected and would be ok barring 3 blow out losses. Looking for positive momentum and player growth in the first month.
  7. That would be true if they listed just 1 WR spot but they list 3, and he's co #2 at one of them. The other two are outside spots with players all 6'1"+. He probably will only see the field inside at 5'9"-ish. He could be that 4th WR sure but it means more than you're alluding to IMO. Regardless, I hope he does well and I’ll be keeping an eye on TCU.
  8. I agree he did well with what he was given, and was a solid coach. The point being raised that I think is hard to overlook, is things were moving in the wrong direction. He would have done better than Riley, but I still think we would have ended up flirting with .500 had he stuck around for 4 more years and been responsible for recruiting. Would we have gone 4-8? Probably not but I don't know if people would have been happy when he started slipped from 9-4 to 7-5 etc.
  9. I've kept this one in my uploads since they took it away. I just don't know if it is sufficient, or if I need a bigger one
  10. Bingo everyone. Most are a big apprehensive of this game because....we're not as good as they are. I'm tired of the beat downs but will root for the team just the same. I have been holding onto hope for years that Nebraska could get "back" and compete for a national championship again but that's unrealistic. Getting back to winning and being competitive in every game is the new standard, like it or not.
  11. For sure. Don't get a sniff when we get rag dolled every year by Ohio State. Where we do pick up kids they don't stay. Winning games this year is a must, going 3-5 would be quite bad for recruiting.
  12. I am as guilty of wanting to chase star rankings as anyone but it seems like a crap shoot trying to find ones who still want to put in the work. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Have to start doing better in places like STL I think rather than Miami.
  13. I think those two things, while not completely mutually exclusive, are a bit counter to one another normally. Unless your "scoring from anywhere on the field" comes from breaking runs or passing things opening up from drawing the defenders up to cover the run. A power running team usually doesn't sling it all over the yard well, and a pass first team usually can't go 3 yards and a cloud of dust reliably. It will be interesting to see if Frost can accomplish both but I tend to think it will lean one way and that way being more spread out.
  14. I could have easily just copied and pasted text but I just wanted post that picture. Sh$+ers full! I'm glad we have football coming up, I'm starting to lose it this year.
  15. You think we can hold them to 42-10? Sunshine pumper alert! I really don't think there's anything to lose because if they win they're supposed to but I still see that as a beat down. They'll be out for blood trying to state their case for the playoff with less games played. 2-2 out of that first four would be a huge step forward, 1-3 will be expected by everyone and NW always plays tough. Just don't start 0-4 is my motto.
  16. I think they should have off beat clapping to Sirius and DONU.
  17. Hey now, we won 5 last year. In all seriousness, I get it more than most what he's experiencing. My freshman year was 2003, and then I got 3 years of Callahan. I hope your son gets at least one excellent season in his last two.
  18. It's been 3, on/off/on.....but you said 4. I'm superstitious too and now I don't know what to do! Close it quick then open it back up? Pump fake?
  19. Isn't the testing available now? Having zero bye weeks is unnecessarily risky. No reason to not start the 10th or at the latest on the 17th to give some flexibility. This is dropping the ball yet again in my eyes. Tin foil hat me wonders if this is yet another intentional delay to see if the others fail first so they can just cancel again.
  20. They're going to not get all 8 games in with no bye weeks and miss the playoff if they wait until the 24th.
  21. You'd think this stupidity would be punished but it's all about the product and the amount of eyeballs. Some of the largest alumni bases in the country and they will still make bank, count on it.
