  1. For all you hunters out there- do you ask farmers if you can hunt their land? I've been asked by a neigherbor, and I really don't care, but does the landowner have any liability?

      Short answer: you owe certain duties to invitees/licensees who enter your land - so, yes, you can be found liable if you breach those duties.

      I guess you technically could be held liable, but in Nebraska it wouldn't be likely.  They like to encourage landowners to give permission.  I reckon the exact statutes could be looked up fairly easily.

       

      Never a bad idea to do what you got to do to cover yourself, though.

      ^ This is correct.  Have your attorney look at Neb. Rev. Stat. 37-372 and Bronsen v. Dawes County, 272 Neb. 320 (2006) for the specifics.
