  1. tOSU will punt 3 times or less in the game vs NU
  2. With the first playoff rankings coming out and combine that with OU's loss last week, tOSU is going to need style points, and lots of them if they are going to make it into the final 4 teams at the end of the year. They have to beat NU worse than Wisconsin did. I see Urban never letting his foot off the gas (i.e. Oregon) and putting up big numbers. Our only saving grace would be if we can run the ball and burn clock or it is raining so hard that tOSU runs more than they want with a wet ball/field. The O/U should be on if they even have to punt? and if so, how many times? I'd say 3 punts or less for tOSU Did you not notice we had "max protect" in place almost the entire game? hard to get a sack when you are going up against that the whole game.
  3. I have both football and volleyball season tickets. Have had football for over 20 years and volleyball since they moved to Devaney. I prefer going to Volleyball way more than the football games. For one, I have a seat (not a bench) and I am on the aisle, so it is easy to get into and out of. Like others have said, the "all day" feel of football does begin to drag on you when the product on the field is as poor as it has been. I sold my Wisconsin and Iowa tickets before the season started and it paid for all of my volleyball season as well as about 1/3rd of my football. I knew I was not going to go to IA and knew WI would be worth $$$ prior to the season starting. I enjoy the volleyball matches as the quality of play is top notch. We bring in the best teams to play and win a lot of them. Plus, the B1G is really really good as a conference, so most every match is a quality opponent. The Bob gets rockin too and the crowd is very educated in the sport.
  4. Are your sure? We are approaching 20 years of "better times are ahead" and we continue to spin down the drain. Geeze, Golly, Shucks
  5. I asked my kids if they wanted to go to the game......they said no. Can't even imagine those words coming out of my mouth when I was their ages.
  6. Our offensive and defensive tackles are more mobile than our QB, which does not bode well when our OL has been the B1G Whipping Boys
  7. Who the hell voted 6-0.......I’d really like to lay some money down with you. 0-6 is a lot more realistic than 6-0.
  8. The water boarding we will get from tOSU is expected. If we go to Purdue and have the same thing happen, after a bye week, October could be plenty scary at the end of the month around here and I am not talking Halloween.
  9. For those of you still stating that you are unsure MR will be fired and/or not be here next season, I'll gladly cover any $$$ you want to wager on that. If it goes bad enough the rest of this month, he may be the rare in-season termination.
  10. Why would we even care if we went to a bowl at this point? Playing in early December in a "nothing" bowl is not going to WOW anyone. There is enough off season work to do and playing in a crap bowl game does not contribute
  11. I keep reading how it was not the Defense's fault, they were out there "the whole game". I remember looking up at the scoreboard in the 3rd quarter, and both teams had ran about the same number of plays. So, I looked up the box score for the game and we ran 61 plays and Wisconsin ran 65 plays. Our D was not out there any more than Wisconsin's was.....should their D not have been as tired/worn down as ours was? Isn't this the same NU D which was on the field for a HUGE amount of snaps vs Arkansas State too? I get tired of the excuses people come up with to justify things. Yes, NU was getting clobbered the 2nd half, but play wise, it was very even.
  12. Amazes me to read all the "excuses" people come up with. It has taken time, but I finally have realized we are just a very bad football team and program that is lost is the woods. Even people I work with around the country ask "What has happened to Nebraska?" I will wear a Husker shirt while traveling and even random people on airplanes ask will they ever be back? College football is better with a good Nebraska program. Problem is, we need to get out of our own way and get back there. I think Bounds and Green can get rid of the dysfunctional state and the fans proved vs Wisconsin that they are ready to "bring it" in support of the team. Stop with the excuses ! Call a spade and spade, accept it and start working towards a solution.
  13. We have no chance vs tOUS and Sandusky State Iowa will beat us again, Purdue is better than we are. We should beat Northwestern, but they have played us as tough as any team in Lincoln. We should also beat "row your boat" U, but playing up there will be tough and the most recent history in that series does not bode well for NU either. I said we will end up with 5 wins (total for the season), but that is if everything falls into place, just as easily could see it be only 4.
  14. The Nebraska way? We are so far gone from the Nebraska way, we may never find it again.
  15. He is gone and coaches, acts, and talks like a fired coach in waiting
  16. Current coaches are clueless on how to win. Period....we keep hearing about the Big and physical line of Wisc, where is ours?
  17. In my opinion and based on past attempts, here is what the "black out" will look like Saturday night.
  18. It would be obvious to put it right on the season tickets we get as season ticket holders. Make the ticket black (with white lettering) for the "Black Out Game" and then work with their vendors at Fanatics or Follett to get a T-shirt to put on every seat. Then, get the black pom poms to hand out and hand out black balloons and not red. Go all out. Not this Monday before the game crap that only gets to about 20% of the potential fan base.
  19. was listening to 93.7 "the ticket" in Lincoln during my lunch today. They were even laughing at/mocking the idea of a "Black Out" saying how unless it is organized and promoted by the University and Athletic Dept, they will never see it happen to the degree that people who are into that sort of thing want it to be. They called it very Millennial, which I agree with.
  20. Is anyone really surprised by this? Not really. We struggled with Arkansas State (could have lost just as easily as we won) struggled with Oregon until they pulled their foot off the gas, struggled and lost to NIU who, outside of 2 great DB's, was undermanned against us, let Rutgers stay in the game way too long and beat a bad, BAD IL team... That does not bode well for us as we get into the meat of our schedule. Oct will bury us if we don't find our big boy pants
  21. Not well stated on my end, sorry. My point was that keep that "black out" stuff for the students, a good portion of the crowd is not going to participate in a gimmick like this or even care, it is more for the young people. Calling out every breathing human going to the game to do it, just fantasy.
  22. I agree 100% and when I was part of the 20 something crowd, participated. The die hards need to realize they are not going to get "everyone" to participate. My guess is that most students and younger fans will have fun with things like this. The older you get on the "fan" timeline, the more they want to just see a win and the "other stuff" is not as important. Personally, I enjoy the tailgate we put on in Haymarket Park more than I do the games, especially the last 10 years or so. We have met some great people and have a good time, and then when it is time to go to the game, the mood changes to bleh.
  23. Well, the almost 20 year experiment of trying to find ourselves and reinvent ourselves has worked out just fine now hasn’t it? Regardless of the system, NU football is in shambles and has been for a while.
