  1. Call it what you want, but face it tOSU fans did not feel coming to Lincoln was worth it......how the tides have turned. It is a big game to the Kool Aid drinkers dreaming of how we pulled a come back out of our hind ends one time. To tOSU, they see it as a blip on the screen.
  2. What is a stretch..? Tickets being available or tOSU fans not seeing the game through the same red goggles as NU fan?
  3. What are they going to mention on College Game Day about Nebraska? Who the next AD will be? Who the next coach will be? Nebraska has no chair at the table of the national perspective, so however you want to spin it, there is not much to say about us. With more and more people pulling the cable plug, the ABC time slots and FOX time slots are going to be more enticing to recruits if you want to go there.
  4. Received an email earlier this afternoon that the NU ticket office has many seats available for the OSU game in the visitors sections. Content edited to keep thread on topic. Huskerzoo
  5. tOSU will toy around with us for a quarter or two and then Tanner Lee will remember who he is and put 14+ on the board for tOSU in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Being behind, we will panic as always and stop running the ball and tOSU will pin their ears back and, well......you have seen this movie already this year with the likes of NIU and ASU. Luck would bring us 1 win in the next 2 weeks, but reality is we will end up 0-2 BBQ
  6. The cost of college does not impact the football team, unless you want to discuss walk-on players (you did not mention it that way). Each conference has it's own rules as far as partial qualifiers, but everyone in a conference (at least) is playing by the rules go with Prop 48 kids. How did Penn State manage to go from almost the death penalty and major reductions in scholarships to where they are right now? Happy Valley is not a "happening place" by any means, so how did they do it? We can make all the excuses we want, but NU has spent almost 20 years trying to find itself and getting out of its own way. Our coaching hires have put us behind and HCMR is doing here what he did at OSU.....be a .500 coach.
  7. I'll buy you another Kool Aid and let you simmer down. If you can't see the point, I can't help you either. The point is, the program WAS established and was not "building" Since the threshold was established, it has hardly been met since and you can call it the house of cards which came falling down. Winning cures all. No excuses. What disadvantages does NU not have now compared to others and don't use the lame "geography" excuse.
  8. So, what part of this do you disagree with? The standards were set and established for 30+ years and are not being met. When was the last time that we were even relevant for 2 or 3 years in a row? It does not matter that Devaney or Orsborne were mentioned or not, it is the process of being a champion and they established this.
  9. Sad that we need a "gimmick" to get fired up for a big game. The players and recruits don't give a rats behind about what color I am wearing in the stands. Do you want to see some great fans, go check out a Husker Lady's Volleyball match. 8,500 fans rocking the Bob watching a great team compete and BEAT top 10 talent on a regular basis. Now, that is FUN !
  10. Boy, how the times have changed. Ever since Bob Devaney came to Lincoln from WY, it was to make NU into a winner. Not competing, no doing ok, no "moral" victories.....but to WIN. NU has all the facilities and resources it needs to do this and since the early 2000's we have been in constant purgatory and have watched college football catch up and pass us by. From the late 60's to late 90's, everyone in Nebraska expected to win every game. Period, end of story. We expected to take on anyone and win. For 30+ years, we were competing for championships almost every single season. Even the "bad" seasons, we were better than 9 wins and were bowling. After doing this for 30+ years, the standard was set, and we have fallen on some very hard times. Even the 9 and 10 win seasons in the last decade, it was obvious that the NU swagger was gone and things have not been right. I don't want to show up Saturday to hope we keep it close and walk away happy if we lose. Losing by 3 or 30 is still a big L on the schedule. It is sad that we even debate the idea of not winning them all every year, but that is how far we have fallen.
