Now we don't fair catch now?
-
Our defense is very average.
-
He didn't seem to play the ball well.
-
We lost the Iowa game that year when we were favored in Kellogg's first start. I'm surprised he had that much yardage since I only remember him from that game and the Hail Mary against Northwestern.
-
I'll give him four years, but 5-7 with the weakest schedule in decades and a 4 game losing streak would be incredibly disappointing. We crapped the bed against a team with a 6 game losing streak and another team with a four game losing streak. A win against Iowa will make me feel better about the season. Words don't mean much.

I think a lot of people had us winning 6 games or more. The Big Ten West is incredibly weak this year. Our schedule is probably the weakest in decades, even weaker than most thought heading into the season.

** 2023 Opponent Preview : Iowa (Game 12) **

Even if we don't turn the ball over, our special teams will probably be the death of us. The big loss of field position from shanked or line drive punts and missed FGs are just like turnovers in these ugly games. -
The defense seemed gassed to me and had trouble getting off the field. They could not get to the QB to save their lives.

***The Nebraska Defense - Blackshirts 2023***

They are the best part of the team, but they don't get many turnovers. The Wisconsin QB with his bad hand would have probably had a couple fumbles if they could have gotten some good hits on him. They have trouble getting off the field at times. Two 3rd and longs in OT. -
It does seem like we get more bad calls than a typical Big Ten team, but I think it is just a matter of the Big 10 refs sucking in general and not that they are out to get us.
-
How come he could not develop Sims? He wanted him. Thompson was pushed out for him.
-
I'd be fine with 6-6 or better, not 5-7. I'm sure most fans are like that.
-
Rhule did go out and get Sims as his starting QB. That is who he wanted to lead this team.

What Was The Most Impact-full Loss Of The Season
Packerhuskerfan replied to Stone Cold's topic in Husker Football
Michigan State. We were at 5-3. We had a 3 game winning streak going up against a team with a 6 game losing streak. Our offense couldn't score much as usual, but our defense gave up some big plays against a team that had previously looked like they had given up on the season. -
2019 5-7 Cornhuskers would beat this one. Frost was a failure and hopefully Rhule will do better in year 2.
-
5-7 is not an improvement over Frost teams. We knew the Big 10 West would be weaker than the East, but not as awful as it ended up being. Our schedule ended up being way easier than expected.
-
We had 3 points on offense after the first quarter.

Special teams will probably be the difference in the game. We suck and they are one of the best. -
We apparently have no answer for the QB run. The guy wasn't that athletic, but we kept whiffing. He also had a bad hand which left him susceptible to turnovers had we gotten some decent hits. We can't seem to find decent kickers or punters anymore. Apparently, our OC and head coach think the end of the game last week and this week were the same situation when they were entirely different.

Yeah, that QB wasn't dynamic and was susceptible to fumbling with that hand injury, but we couldn't tackle him all night. I wish Nebraska used Wisconsin's game plan on offense. They tried like one trick play and were pretty vanilla the rest. Other than the two fourth down stops when Wisconsin should have kicked FGs, our defense choked most of the night. If they just played like one of their top games this season, we win. This and the Michigan State game were particularly disappointing performances. -

The Hawkeyes offense embraces the suck and don't try to be something they are not. They don't make a lot of mistakes. Their defense and special teams are stellar. They have the best punter in the country and we have a shanker. I see a 13-10 Hawkeyes win. -
Well, maybe you manage time better in regulation and get a few more chances. Chubby had a week in practice as the one and they were down 3 and not tied. Satterfield isn't going to get us to even Pelini levels.

This is probably the easiest schedule we've had in decades is the saddest part. -

It sucks that we didn't try harder in regulation to win. We didn't have to take major chances, but we had time for at least a few more plays with proper time management. It also sucks that our D had 3rd and long twice in OT and gave up big plays. We have to be the worst team in OT over the last decade. -

Same crap. Different year. Should have used the time outs better in regulation to try to score a TD. When is the last time we scored a TD in OT?
