  1. I love that Miss State is ranked ahead of UCF with now 4 losses. Don't get me wrong, if UCF was in the P5, I would definitely want to keep all the G5 out, but at some point the pettiness looks silly. You have to set up some system with at least the appearance of fairness.
  2. Great video. The Rudy music is underutilized these days. So how do we, as Nebraska fans, feel about the speed v. power shift in college football? Is the general idea that speed/spread concepts are a fad or the future? Would you rather have a 42yo Osborne or Frost in 2018?
  3. I don't know what that means to throw the bones. Is it just crossing your arms? Does it relate to the program or it's history?
  4. Ok, so I'm in Lincoln, watching a game, eating a Runza, and the Huskers are in the red zone. I'm shouting "Go Big Red!" or "Go Huskers!", right? Any other cheering options? What is the bones thing?
  5. So if someone wanted to be a Husker fan in addition to being a UCF fan, what would they need to know about Husker fanhood? Asking for a friend. What does Scott Frost like about Husker fans?
  6. What I'm saying is that I understand why Nebraska fans are sold out on Frost. He looks better on paper than any other "available" coach out there and he's younger than them. Even if he won a couple national championships in his first two seasons, he probably wouldn't jump to Alabama or the NFL just to prove that he could do it. He just doesn't seem like that type of guy. Would Leach? There's a decent chance. Would Sumlin? I don't think he would hesitate if somewhere bigger where he could "prove" himself came calling. So one of the pro's for Leach is that he's probably too old to go anywhere else because he probably would take a lot longer than Frost to be successful at Nebraska?
  7. I would, but I might be an outlier on this board. If I were y'all, I would want Frost. Every program is looking for that coach that is going to be smart and stay there long enough to make a bunch of recruiting ties and build a great reputation. If Frost goes to Nebraska and wins, does he take another job if Ohio State or Bama comes calling? Probably not. Would Leach or Sumlin? Probably. There's a chasm between the candidates from my perspective...
  8. Thanks, it's the New Weeping Knights (NWK) translation. Please don't call me an idiot.
  9. 12 The Lord sent Nathan to Nebraska fans. When he came to them, he said, “There were two programs in a certain country, one rich and the other poor. The rich program had a very large amount of P5 money and championships, but the poor program had nothing except one new coach they had bought. They gave him free reign, and he grew up with them and their fans. It gave them hope, a lot of wins and even playoff talk. He was like a hero to them. “Now years of irrelevancy came to the rich program, but the rich man refrained from taking one of the unemployed coaches to prepare something for the irrelevancy that had come to him. Instead, he took the new coach that belonged to the poor program and prepared with him for the irrelevancy that had come to them.” Nebraska fans burned with anger against the program and said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the program that did this must die! They must pay for that coach four times over, because they did such a thing and had no pity.” Then Nathan said to Nebraska fans, “You are that program!"
  10. New to Nebraska fanhood, but posting information to placate people who don't need to be here seems like a very Nebraska thing to do.
  11. Hey, we have to have some stuff for all the UCF fans lurking. I'm guessing the number has grown since Hedley's posts...
  12. Do you have some inside info I don't about Troy Walters' genius? Or do Nebraska fans just hate their OC so much that even if all Walters does is not obstruct the offense, it's still a massive improvement?
  13. If I needed to tie it in, I could say that it will have an effect on where the assistant coaches go. I don't know Hedley, but the amount of posts and plus1's has me worried he's credible. Can someone give me hope that he's the board crackpot?
  14. I think it's time for us to shift gears and start talking about who is going to replace Frost at UCF. Chinander? Chip Kelly? Discuss!
  15. Is this level of knowledge and insight common among Nebraska fans? Or is this more the exception? Serious question despite the sarcasm.
  16. They call it "digital bath salts". It's becoming more common.
  17. Yeah, they're freaking horrible with attendance. And they're one of those that wildly exaggerate their numbers and those inflated numbers are bad. Evil cows.
  18. Florida is a diverse state with lots of different parts. Miami and Pensacola are like different countries. Gainesville is more like Georgia than the rest of Florida. Similar to Blacksburg in how the town revolves around UF. I lived there, there is absolutely nothing else to do anywhere near Gainesville. Tallahassee is a little different than the rest of Florida, I can't speak with much certainty about the makeup. But the two older programs have lots of older fans that show up. Orlando is the northern border of the tropical climate. So Orlando and everything south is more what you think of with Florida and even that has a lot of difference between coastal towns and inland. Basically, beach people don't go to games. You see that in southern California and central-south Florida. So even Miami, that has had a ton of success and a decently long history can't pay people to come to games. You see it with every school in the tropical part of Florida. Jacksonville should be more like Gainesville, but I think its too new and they generally suck. Just my opinion. But I've lived in Tampa, Miami and Gainesville areas and that's what I saw.
  19. It's hard for me to say, the system is so different than what we're used to. O'Leary ball was close to what I imagine Nebraska runs. But there are so many stunts and pulls that I don't really know whether the OLine is doing a good job or not. Someone smarter could. OC doesn't call plays. He seems nice, but no one at UCF would be happy.
  20. Ok, but this is why UCF is investing so much money in sports right now. They see where things are headed and if UCF can't prove that it deserves more than every other G5 school and a bunch of P5 schools, we'll get locked out forever. So they are putting a lot on the credit card right now. Our endowment is embarrassingly small. Our student athletic fees are massive. But UCF is hunkering down for the football apocalypse and we obviously think Frost is the guy to get us there.
