The obstructing a peace officer charge shouldn’t be overlooked.   What the heck happened there?
We put these student athletes on a pedestal, but in the end they’re just immature young adults doing stupid things.

Of course Pillen stuck his nose in this.

No doubt.  Trump even campaigned for Pillen's R primary opponent, but Pillen still bows down to Trump's demands.  Spineless and pathetic is what it is.  But that's today's GOP.

  3. Interesting how the highlight videos are blurred away from the ball.  Prevent us fans for reading too much into who's playing where?  Prevent opponent scouting?  Or, the video editor having too much time on their hands?

Hopefully it builds depth and makes us better.  Certainly a unique concept.

There's rumors floating around that he felt like the way the regents were handling the sexual assault lawsuit left him open to being fired. To be honest, that feels like the most plausible explanation to me - bailing out while he could, before a potential career-ending firing. It'll be interesting to see if Amy Williams ends up getting fired...

I’ve heard a similar rumor that the higher ups wanted to settle and Trev felt he had done nothing wrong and didn’t like the settlement plan.  I doubt it played a major role, but IDK.  I still feel that the gov, regents and Trev all share culpability in this event.

He's been in charge of UNO and UNL for a while now so it's not like he just showed up...I think he just wants a change from whatever is going on down there, the regents or whoever, or he'd just rather live in Texas. I thought it was strange that Rob Childress came back from A&M to take a lesser job...now Trev is going there. I now wonder if there were any convos at that time about Trev going there. I also wonder if the Nebraska regents and staff are toxic....people don't stay here long anymore. Bill Moos didn't seem too enamored with the job either. Maybe it's time to clean house?

I’m on board as long as by “house “ you include the governor’s mansion.

If he was so disillusioned like some here are trying to paint it, why would he sign a contract renewal in November?

Maybe he still held out hope the governor/regents "s#!t show" would get resolved.

I guess I don't really buy the gap in Presidents being that big of an issue.  I'm not sure we're that much different than any other place.

For example, Ohio State's former President announced her retirement in November 2022.  Ted Carter wasn't announced as the replacement until August 2023.  He didn't assume his position until January of this year.

By that timeline, we still have 6-ish months to have a new President in place.

Sure seems like deflection from the gov.  Like some on HB are trying to do as well.

Rose said this morning on KFAB that Greene was the wrong hire.  I have no idea, I’m just repeating.

If Greene was the wrong hire and Trev is just being Trev, I think it changes this narrative a bit.

I would take what Rose says with a grain of salt.

  9. And we can continue to dig up his alleged old flaws from past jobs all we like, but there is little doubt Trev was a great ambassador had NU athletics going in the right direction.  The next AD isn't going to be Mr (or Mrs) Perfect either.

Agreed, there were plenty of ways he could have gotten his message across over the past year with how frequently he was taking interviews and interacting with reporters. Instead, the action yesterday comes across as impulsive, though I'm sure the idea had been under consideration for months. The unfortunate part is that the abrupt change has turned fans from praising him the past several years into an angry group searching to find dirt on him or justify why he's a bad leader/person. We would be dumb not to take him back tomorrow (should he get cold feet), but I'm not sure there is a bridge to get him back. Just sucks all around.

We need him to be candid and very open about why he left.  So appropriate measures can be taken and we can move on.

If Matt Rhule coaches here in 2024 it will be a blessing.

If he coaches here in 2025, it will be a miracle.

    You reap what you sow.

He won't bail on the team this year.  If we win 8-9 games and the big boy programs come calling, then all bets are off.  I'd like to think that if he has a good say in who his next boss is, then I that calms things down.  A good president would help too.  But, honestly, who the hell knows.  I figured Trev would finish his career here.  Or at least give us 5-10 years.

As long as Trev stays, I'm good.

If Trev leaves, this fan base is in for a wild ride.

If Trev stays, I'm expecting a lot of changes in a very short time.

Pretty much sums it up.  Maybe this was a necessary jolt to the system.

He may not have the power to assist in fixing what is broken, nor have the trust in the people that do.
