  1. I was at that ‘95 game. Not only 63 points, NU had 505 total yards offensively in the first half. The Husker D line was hitting Jake the Snake really hard, but he hung in there and got off two or three long TD passes against our decent secondary. But the D adjusted some, and ASU didn’t get much offense going in the second half, while TO called off the dogs on offense in the second half, except the Turmanator threw a a final-play TD pass that Osborne did not want called. The ASU coach was upset about that.
  2. When it comes to 40 times, I imagine Wan ‘Dale is up there. But longer distances maybe not. Still in that All American HC game, you saw how he flew past everyone on that over-thrown bomb. Then we got Houston and Johnson coming this summer. And we know JD can fly. So we are not lacking in that. The only one who is expected to have some playing time and lacks great speed is probably Kade Warner, who you saw got caught from behind on that big pass-play gain in the Spring Game. But if he has some of the most consistent hands, that counts for something.
  3. The more talent NU gets, transferring will continue, as the more highly sought-out players want to play early. The more talent the Huskers get, the more of a challenge it will be for players to get early playing time. I realize that this specific case is academics but just saying. We will have to get use to losing some players with great potential, just like other top programs.
  4. Anyone checked if this has changed the Huskers’ final recruiting rankings?
  5. Bradley has shown some good moves. I could see him competing more for playing time than the Red’s top two RBs in the first half. How much he plays is hard to know if Washington plays and how the three RBs coming this fall do. Luke and Noah are looking good.
  6. Not sure where he is at on the deph chart with a log jam of TEs, but I have read somewhere that he has made a lot of progress. With his athletic ability, I can imagine the coaches want to play him along with Stoll if his blocking is part of his improvement. But then those two other TEs are so darn tall, they would be useful in red zone situations.
  7. Great post! Since Nance is already here, perhaps he will have an advantage over Chase and Houston who both perhaps will redshirt. Thus Nance could gets some playing time depending on how it all plays out — maybe behind Hunt and Woodyard. If this would happen, McQuity perhaps would be in the transfer portal. All I hear is McQuity has to get more consistent.
  8. Lincoln would sure be a step-up to Highland, Kansas. I have watch a buddy of mine’s son play baseball there. There is virtually nothing to do in that tiny town. The only place to eat is a Casey’s convenient mart that offers pizza. Whoopee.
  9. We have been hearing a lot about him of late. I know there is still fall camp and things can change, but he is apparently looking really good this spring and he has to like his situation right now as the replacement for Morgan. But of course it’s still spring.
  10. Hail Varsity explained pretty good on Jones’ status today. He sat out the first two weeks of practice so his shoulder could totally heal. Then he comes back and hurts his ankle. So finally maybe now the coaches can see what he can do. He is still compared to Otis Anderson. If he and Robinson are both healthy enough for Saturday, it would be interesting to see a comparison of the two.
  11. Now that we still haven’t heard about him this spring, it appears that both Wan ‘Dale and Brody may be ahead of Miles. So you wonder if after the Spring Game or after the first four games in the fall if he will transfer. Could he still not be fully healthy?
  12. Does anyone see both of them on the field together in goaline situations? I don’t see either Wisconsin nor Iowa pushing those two around.
  13. I’m just going by the game highlight video I saw here. Griffin has shown explosiveness besides speed. And he has shown to have quick cutting ability. I see someone who has the potential to be an effective contributor here. No guarantee, it depends on his work ethic, attitude, and ability to quickly learn Frost’s system. Of course he has to come here first.
  14. Just about everything you said is correct. However, Frost has said several times that OZ gained an extra step of speed. But, yes, his improved explosiveness was more noticeable.
  15. Maybe he won’t start, but potentially in Frost’s system he could be a decent contributor. But he has to make it here first.
  16. Husker for Cornhusker. Corn for Cornhusker. I have a buddy who calls them the Corn. So I started calling them that, too. It sounded different, and I happen to like it. HS_Coach_C, you could be one of the nicest people around as far as I know, and I’m not offended. Unless you are being humorist — which I will consider as a possibility — it just seemed like a silly reply. But, hey, I don’t know you, so I will keep that in mind and not draw any conclusions. Peace. Husker love.
  17. Oh please, give me a break. Don’t read my posts then if it bothers you so much. Ignore.
  18. Who knows why it didn’t work out for him at Oregon, unless he didn’t fit into the last two coaches’ systems. But man he looks dangerous, and perhaps with Frost’s system, he would get playing time along with Mills and Washington if he is allowed to play.
  19. Apparently the two Burke High signees and Piper were also all planning to go elsewhere instead of the Corn.
  20. If he had the same desire and determination that Ozibo did, Bell would have been a much better player. But like many top Jucos and high schoolers, they don’t pan out for various reasons. Edit: Then we had Lamar Jackson, who due to poor coaching and bad development, almost didn’t pan out, but now in Frost’s system, he is looking to have a big senior season.
  21. Here is hoping if we still don’t quite match up against teams like Iowa and Wisconsin physically, this happens in year three, and our team speed starts taking a toll on those two opponents. Even starting next season, we may see the end of Iowa’s dominance over us, and in the coming years, we rarely see the Hawkeyes beating us. I also can see the Corn winning more than losing against the Badgers because of Nebraska’s team speed. But of course I am bias, so keep that in mind. GBR!!!
  22. I haven’t heard his name mentioned. What’s up with him?
  23. As a cancer survivor myself, I hope he recovers real soon. No fun at all.
  24. Let’s let the kid have his day in court. Yes this looks extremely bad and it all could be true, but he is innocent until proven guilty. What else can be said?
