  1. Yes, I remember him, and I also remember the cop.
  2. Thanks, I'm a few generations removed from my great-great-grandmother who emigrated from Ireland. So I suppose things are a bit Anglicized. I'll try to remember the correct phrase moving forward. I have made deposit to go to the game in 2021. Should be fun. GO BIG RED!
  3. Going to Ireland is on my bucket list. Combining it with a Husker game just might be the ticket. Erin Go Bragh & Go Big Red!
  4. Orange Bowl after the 1994 season. Took my folks, was pure joy seeing the expression on my dad's face as the clock ticked down. Huskers 24 Miami 17. Dad will be 89 in March, ingrained in me the love of Nebraska football. Lost my mom last month, she too was a huge Husker fan. I will always treasure that trip to Miami with them and the fun we had.
  5. I wish him well if he does decide to transfer.
  6. The records are the same, but the product on the field is much improved. Other than the Michigan game I never felt Huskers were out matched. Last year I left the Ohio State and Iowa games well before they were over and I'm usually one who stays till the last second clicks off. Pitiful showings in last year's 4-8. No so this season. Look forward to 2019. #GBR
  7. Way too many to count. I don't recall very first game either, I know I was there in '72 for at least one game, the year Johnny the Jet won his Heisman. Have ticket and photos from Colorado game in '73 (Nov 3, 1973) Just some of the memorable home games I've attended: NU vs Alabama 1977 Huskers hand Bear his only loss of the year. NU vs OU 1978 Osborne finally beats the Sooners NU vs Florida St. 1986 First night game in Memorial Stadium NU vs OU 2001 Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass NU vs CU 2008 Alex Henry 57 yarder NU vs Missouri 2010 Roy Helu runs wild NU vs Northwestern 2013 Hail Mary for the win. NU vs Minnesota 2018 Frost first head coach win Also attended Orange Bowl vs Fl State after '93 season Orange Bowl vs Miami '94 National Championship game Gator Bowl vs Clemson after 2008 season Season ticket holder since 2011 so have been to most home games since then. Attended with my dad who had season ticket before then. When I got my own season ticket it turned out to be in the same section and row he'd sat in all those years. Just a few seats down. What are the odds of that?!? He's in late 80's now so no longer has his tickets. Great memories.
  8. There were some pretty bad teams in the 40s. Overall the 40s was a losing decade. Late 50s also losing seasons. First year of Bill Jennings they went 1-7. Kinda hard to call this team the worst team in "Husker history." Yes, it is the first time they've ever gone 0-6. Disappointing to start the Frost era like this, but I have faith he will get things turned around in time.
  9. I believe Frost will get things turned around but it will take time. You don't change 2 decades of bad habits and culture overnight. Frost sounds frustrated that they aren't getting through to all the team when it comes to changing bad habits. Will be interesting to see what personnel changes happen moving forward. Have to believe some will after hearing Frost post game.
  10. It shows how very far Huskers had fallen under the past coaches. I believe Frost will get them back on track but it will take time. The culture has to be overturned completely.
  11. A T-shirt I have sums it up: Nebraskan by birth, Husker by blood. My dad attended Huskers games as a kid going to the "knothole" section. He's 87 now and attended games until he was 81. (watches from the luxury of his home now on TV) When I got my season ticket a few years back he was the first person I called. Told him my seat assignment. He said that's the same section & row I sit in. It hadn't dawned on me when I got the notice in the mail. But yeah..my seat is just down the row from the seat my dad had sat in for decades. What are the chances that would happen?? West stadium Section 23. I can't imagine NOT supporting the team or wearing red on game day. The team isn't very good right now, but have confidence that things can be turned around. It is in my blood.
  12. I always tell people you can't have been raised by my dad without becoming a Husker football fan. He's 84 now and still as faithful a fan as any. He gave up going to the games a few years back but when he went he yelled, and cheered on the team with pride (yeah even though he was a "Blue hair"!!!) I put in for and got a season ticket four years ago and low and behold it is in the exact same section and ROW my dad had sat in for decades, just a few seats on down the row. So I guess Husker football is just in my blood and the University ticket office knew it too!
  13. I called them today. As it turns out they DO send the newbies their tickets last. They just got new season ticket holder tix back from printer. Should go out in next few days
  14. Anyone else still waiting?(besides me and students??)
