I have heard reports that Rhule is in serious discussions with Nebraska. After watching Nebraska and looking at the familiar NFL version in Carolina. Is that a win for us or ?

For us to get a glimmer of the success we have had in the past is to return to that past. Recruit the pieces for the option. RB's will come here for it, lots of action for them. I would love Urban if we could get him. The record of the programs he has taken over the previous 2 years before he got there was 36-35. In the 2 years after he arrived was 61-12. This includes stints at Bowling Green State and Utah. Florida was in disarray after the Zook years and OSU went 6-7 in that first year of Fickell's short tenure after the Tressel mess. Bad coaching only goes so far. The pride is in the players. They have been playing football for a long time already. If they need to be instructed how to tackle or how to block then we have recruited poorly. The program went soft during the Riley era and it has never toughened up. They look weak like they spent 0 time in the weight room. The lines are horrible, the DBs are embarrassing, the intensity all but gone but i'm sure they still strut around campus. I'd be ashamed to show my face. Urban tried JAX, not really a powerhouse. He's a college coach and he can turn this thing around because he can recruit. Its cold in Neb in the winter, and its also cold in Columbus in the winter and he got that team stacked. We got to go big or apply for FCS status,

when you try to play the same style of football against teams with 4* and 5* guys using your 2* and 3* guys you will get your a$$ beat the vast majority of time. The 3* guys can win by being developed into a system, think Nebraska option. Whipple is calling plays meant for the ACC, wide open weak defenses. Will not work with the major teams speed. Defense just has 0 talent. run themselves out of the play consistently, bad angles, bad tackling, avoiding contact. Our D is the Purdue D of the 80's. No offense meant Purdue.

This is eerily familiar to the OZ era when we could not beat Oklahoma. Seemed always something happened for us to lose. Frost is battling the same type thing but its not OK it's the culture that has been in decline since OZ retired. Frank, Callahan, Bo and Reid all added to the decline. It's an uphill battle for Frost. Is he perfect? No but he's learning. False starts, punts to the wrong side, that personal foul on the sack. That is 100% on the players. If they donl;t like being under the bus for letting their TEAM down then improve. The last 2 games have given me tremendous hope. The defense has been spectacular and the offense has talent. It's no kool-aid fest either, i was screaming at the TV with the rest of Husker nation as well. But once OZ corrected his foils in the past it was a spectacular run. D was awesome! AM's 2 turnovers and crappy play calling. horrible special teams especially on that punt. We had wore them out in the 2nd half. Should have run run run but no we go pass happy in OT.

How many on this board actually are at the majority of the practices? All this supposition is stated as fact and has little evidence to support any of it. Bad game performance is not a support of these wild theories. Everyone loves the backup qb. All this the team loves Luke and hates playing with AM is ridiculous. There is a lack of talent on both sides of the ball that gets exposed on gameday. The 2nd string is not all diamonds in the rough, sometimes they are just the backups. I don't see Spielman leaving, the school records matter. Where I would like to see us start winning is on the recruiting trail. We should never be 6th in the Big 10. We should always be in the top 3.
