This team is one serviceable, doesn't even have to be average, QB away from already being bowl eligible and in the driver's seat for the West

Lol...we are and teams are realizing that is all we can do and they are playing the run more and more every game.

Yes, we need a coaching staff who can either recruit blue-chip QB's, or take average QB's and coach them up. We're seeing none of this, this season.
To be fair, we don't have average QB's

Regardless of their individual skills or lack of, they shouldn't be asked to execute plays utilizing skills they don't possess. I put a lot of this on Satterfield.
Yeah, it is completely unreasonable for the OC to expect a college QB to complete passes

I learned that this team is a bottom feeder and if something drastic doesn't happen it'll be worse next year. The stats don't lie in our case, this is against a soft schedule full of teams that are as bad as ours.
We literally just need an average QB

He knows his personnel. By asking them repeatedly to do things they can't. He is putting them in position to fail. That is on Sat.
So he should stop asking them to not turn the ball over and complete passes

Honest question, Would he have clout to recruit or would this be just as much of a head scratch as Raiola is? If he’s that good then it would be a win-win for both the programs we root for because he’s not hacking it in Cheney while the Montana schools right themselves at Ewoo‘s expenseI think he is a legit OL coach in my personal experiences with him. As far as "clout", I cannot think of any OL coach that has clout with recruits...outside of building a solid OL system, so obviously he would have to build that, which I think Best has the chops to do.

Let’s just cut to the chase who do you want as our next online coach?
A good one.
In all seriousness, go grab Aaron Best from Eastern Washington (current HC).

Well Wisconsin is a night game, which will make it interesting. I do think it's in some ways easier to play in a loud, hostile environment than a totally dead one like MSU though. So who knows.
Hell yeah...was hoping for an NBC night game

I kind of got the feeling Nebraska just expected to turn up today and win. At no point did they appear to match MSU's intensity, effort, or desire. It seemed like it was penciled in as an easy win...For the non quoted parts of your post, I agree...but this quoted part, I just don't see where one could even get that take...we looked the same we have all season.. a good D and a s#!tty O...we are, and have been a 50/50 team against anyone that we are in a 60/40 or 40/60 percentage of winning/losing

Nebraska makes offense look hard. Nebraska makes passing the ball look hard.
Amazing how easy it can be watching other games today.
Awesome point...i get excited when we get 3 yards. I don't blame the coaches on this though, at least this year, we just lack basic players to make it go. We have some talented dudes on O to be clear, but there is no connection points to put it all together. It's like our O is playing with a basketball instead of a football...it's still a "ball" but it makes the game look awkward and glitchy.

I honestly can't remember the last time NU had 2 QB's on its roster. Maybe Keller/Ganz? But Ganz only got the start because Keller broke his collar bone. NU has had a history for years of getting QB1 as a Fresh and not needing to recruit another quality guy until QB1 was a senior. We recruited a lot, but none that I recall were ever a threat to unseat he incumbent and there was always a pretty decent drop off from QB1 to QB2...
Solid observation/fact

Hard to build a QB room when you have a true freshman starter that would need to be unseated. As soon as A-Mart happened you had at least 2 years of QB misses. That said, AMart would win the division even with this line.
That's fair point on AM if we had him this year

...additional thought, for how "jacked" Fidone is...he blocks like you would expect someone with gym muscles to block...not good

I just found myself amazed, again, at the past couple years of just pure 100% misses in QB talent. I mean we are not an above average P5 team, below average really....BUT, we are a historic Blue Blood with a rabid fan base and amazing facilities...and we simply recruit QB's who were obviously starting QB's in HS but also the starting and/or 2nd string player on defense, and likely better at that position than QB...it's weird.

I guess there could be some truth to this. But it seems pretty hard to believe when we have a new HC, new OC and new QB (at the start of the year) and still have the same issues. Even HH had barely played before.
I could see it more if it was the same players year-to-year. But I don't really buy that for this year.
If it is something (turnovers) that has spanned different coaching staffs, what do you see being the culprit other than it truly being a cognitive awareness by a group that "we fumble alot (program issue)?

Pay the defense.
Really? You are sitting here seeing the personnel they have and your take is "its their fault"?
It's like we are asking a cook to make something but we are not going to provide any food AND you have to make it all in the janitors closet.
The O staff gets a 100% pass on judgement this year by me.

Unless I missed it, surprised no one has mentioned the RB screen...for an OL that struggles to pass pro I am surprised on how little to never we run the RB screen

I remember in the 90’s when Nebraska lost to a terrible Iowa state cause of 4 turnovers. If you turn over the ball 4 times even crap teams can beat good teams
Funny you reference that...1st quarter my mind went right to that and the 2009 game

Meh...HH had 2 dudes wide open on that first pass, guy on sideline woulda been a TD. He (Sat) gets a complete 100% pass from me this year, we have possibly, the weakest O makeup of personnel in the P5.
