After the initial shock (OU week), the team has really shown no I’ll effects of Frost getting booted from the program.  So far, I’d say the team seems relieved and very eager to play with the revamped staff.  The O line is the only team position group that has not responded.  It’s THE most critical, essential, important of a fb team.  It takes the longest to build and or fix.  Maybe we can get an entire O line to transfer en masse in Dec.  from somewhere with their coach?

Remember Scott was going to take a more active role in the O-line this year...it's going to take a while to remove his stench.

Really Minnesota's to lose at this point. I think Purdue is good and I know they have the H2H win (minus Ibra for Minnesota), but it seems this one's Minnesota's for the taking.

That is until we take it from both of them starting with Purdue next week :D

You have to be kidding me right ?  PJ Fake and Minnesota are a turd in a punch bowl

This game should be another momentum builder for Nebraska, and they win by 3 scores.
The last time we won on the road was against Rutgers in 2020.
The last time we won back to back games against B1G opponents was in 2018… so yeah we are due

Rutgers has no answer for their quarterback situation or offense in general.

Their defense may be worse than ours…IOWA put up 27 on them.

Over all we are 5-0 against them averaging 31 points a game. 3 of those wins was on the road.
They haven’t put up more than 10 points against anyone in the B1G this year.
long story short we are riding a wave of fire and energy and Rutgers is down and out right now.
Huskers win and they win big! :bounce

Dude you have my vote for rookie of the year poster.

Yeah but who wouldn't take that job?  I mean, even the most holy of the posteres here would take that.

It is not his fault he was offered that job and that money.

Yeah I would take it, but I would try to offer some value for what they paid me.  At minimum he should have tried to keep Scott from screwing up.

I am in the minority here.  I liked him on the radio broadcast.  Some of yall can't stand him as you have said this much over the years, whenever his name comes up.  But not me.  I like him and he will be missed.

You understand he was being paid over half a million a year ? ...to drink with Scott and Moos

I thought putting Purdy in the game was almost a stupider decision than Frost going for the onside kick against Northwestern. Then even stupider still, not just calling a simple handoff play on the 3rd & long.

That almost cost us the game from a momentum standpoint.

Fortunately it appears that Joseph had the team in a different kind of mindset that we haven't seen for a long time and everybody stayed calm & confident and just kept pushing until we got the deep bomb to Palmer that put us up 28-21.

Agreed play calling could have been better here and the series before the end of the first half wasn't well executed or thought out.

Most impressive thing I've heard from Mickey, other then his complete honesty on everything, is he doesn't have time to watch footbal during the bye week. He's too busy recruiting! Haven't heard a coach say that in a very long time, if ever.

Scott would have been recruiting from the boat.

I just don't get why Frost wouldn't be all in on running the team. You were the golden boy, fan favorite potential coach, you got a huge paycheck, the fan base was going crazy that he was coming back, and then you don't go all in??????

    I don't get it.

If all the things we've heard over the last couple weeks are true he must not have cared that much about Nebraska football.

His personal life was a wreck and his coaching suffered from poor choices in personnel and coaches until it was to late.  Scott needs to get his mind right.

    4. Frost has earned the ridicule after the firing. He was protected, and now there is a lot of smoke. Most of us wanted it to work, but it didn’t, and it’s 100% on Scott. I could care less what the media has to say, but the former players… that’s important when they’re all singing the same tune. Steve Taylor is a well respected guy. He’s saying there was something way off. Tommie tried to say it a couple years ago, and he got ridiculed for having a vendetta against Frost. It turns out he was right. Regardless of what you believe about Frost, it’s clear this mess has only gotten worse. Carriker summed it up best yesterday on his latest YouTube post “How bad of shape did Scott Frost leave this program? He talked about how bad of shape Riley left the program in; I think he’s left it in way worse shape.” That’s a hard pill to swallow for a lot of us, but the record speaks for itself.

How did Tommie perform as a head coach ?
