  1. II. Day 1 Dictatorship Promise: Energy and the Environment "Trump plans to violate statutory requirements by using administrative agencies within the executive branch to promulgate rules that prevent oversight and regulation required by Congress." "For instance, Congress passed the bipartisan Toxic Substances Control Act in 2016, but Trump’s EPA illegally withheld chemical safety studies where public disclosure was required, violated the law’s requirements to review new chemicals, and refused to ask companies to disclose data required under the law.''' "Trump has called for dismantling the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Trump’s 2024 plan includes “systematically dismantling” the EPA, including cutting funding, rolling back regulations, forging closer ties to the fossil-fuel industry, and loosening fuel economy standards."
  2. I. Day One Dictator Promise: Immigration "Next we will implement strong ideological screening of all immigrants to the United States. No longer will we allow dangerous lunatics, haters, bigots, and maniacs to get residency in our country. We’re not gonna let them stay here. We’re…gonna have the largest deportation effort in history.” "You’re disqualified if you’re a Communist, a Marxist, or a Fascist, other than the people that are already here you are, of which many are in the Biden administration, you’re disqualified. We’d like to get them out too. Maybe we’ll work on that.” “We’re going to keep foreign, Christian-hating communists, Marxists and socialists out of America." Trump also said that there was a need for a “new law” to address Americans he characterizes as communists and Marxists but didn’t elaborate any further. Trump wants to refuse asylum claims by reimposing Title 42, a policy he used during Covid-19 by claiming that migrants carry infectious diseases like tuberculosis and other communicable diseases. Trump said that immigration into the United States is “poisoning the blood of our country.” “Nobody has any idea where these people are coming from, and we know they come from prisons. We know they come from mental institutions and insane asylums. We know they’re terrorists. Nobody has ever seen anything like we’re witnessing right now. It is a very sad thing for our country. It’s poisoning the blood of our country. It’s so bad, and people are coming in with disease. People are coming in with every possible thing that you could have.”
  3. Here's a good detailed analysis of the threat to democracy of second Trump term and the GOP's plan to install an autocracy. "As Alyssa Farah Griffin, former Trump White House Director of Strategic Communications, noted, “Fundamentally, a second Trump term could mean the end of American democracy as we know it, and I don’t say that lightly.”. She's only one of many former Trump officials who are sounding the alarm. Why would that be? MAGA will tell you it's all because they are "Deep State". Occam's Razor would suggest that it's because autocracy is exactly Trump's and the GOP's goal. A long thread expanding on the evidence. 4. Graphic video warning: A sample of the war crimes the Russians are engaged in.
  5. It looks like inexcusable doesn't really mean inexcusable. It means "I really thought the base would dump that guy for trying to overthrow democracy but since they didn't I better get my a$$ back on the train because I love power over country".
  6. https://www.businessinsider.in/politics/world/news/125-house-republicans-including-speaker-mike-johnson-back-a-life-at-conception-bill-without-any-ivf-exception/articleshow/107953568.cms "Most House Republicans have cosponsored a bill declaring that life begins from the moment of conception, a position under increased scrutiny after the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos are "unborn children." "This Congress, 125 House Republicans — including Speaker Mike Johnson — have cosponsored the "Life at Conception Act," which states that the term "human being" includes "all stages of life, including the moment of fertilization, cloning, or other moment at which an individual member of the human species comes into being." "The bill does not include any exception for in vitro fertilization (IVF), a reproductive treatment that allows mothers to fertilize several eggs outside the womb in order to increase the chances of a viable pregnancy"
  7. Just one example of the Republicans scrambling to cover their tracks. When you vote for laws stating life begins at conception this is what happens. They didn't think it through but now they're scrambling for two reasons. 1) people will hold them accountable at election time 2) this will affect people they know who need IVF if they want to have kids.
  8. Obviously Trump never read the letter or is lying or has difficulty comprehending words
  9. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/national-security/former-us-spies-warned-2020-hunter-biden-scandal-russian-fingerprints-rcna140240 "Derogatory information, purportedly from Hunter Biden’s laptop, had surfaced in a New York Post article. Soon afterward, 51 former intelligence officials signed and blasted to the media a letter warning that the laptop story “has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” The letter continued: “We want to emphasize that we do not know if the emails … are genuine or not and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case.” “It validates exactly what we were warning about,” said Marc Polymeropoulos, a 26-year CIA veteran who supervised operations involving Russia. “Ours was a prudent warning. The Russians were going to push this narrative of Hunter Biden and corruption, to hurt Joe Biden.” "Sipher said the group never claimed that material about Hunter Biden was made up — only that the story fit a narrative being pushed by people with ties to Russian intelligence, including some who had met in Ukraine with Trump’s lawyer and adviser Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani had provided the laptop materials to the New York Post. “This has always been an ugly political game from the beginning,” Sipher said. “Anyone who actually bothered to read the letter would realize that the focus was on warning about Russian subversive efforts prior to the 2020 election. The recent revelations show that we were prescient. While I would love to gloat, the important issue remains the same — foreign interference in American democracy, and unethical, cynical and faithless behavior by members of Congress entrusted to provide oversight of our important institutions.”
  10. I'm pretty sure all the things he listed as the cause for school shootings also exist in countries that don't have nearly the frequency of school shootings as we do. Could it be the guns? Nah, it's the women. Women cause school shootings. Peak MAGA.
  11. Uh oh...new scandalous news coming from Jonathan Turley, who we've been told isn't a Trump shill, about possible criminal activity committed by Biden's great-great-grandfather.
  12. Imagine getting so far out over your skis that you'd continually side with the Russians and instead try to discredit 51 former intelligence officials. It mirrors Trump's Helsinki performance where he came to the side of Putin and threw our intelligence services under the bus. Why does MAGA hate America so much?
  13. Kind of lays waste to the notion of Russian invincibility in Ukraine.
  14. I'm glad you agree with his statement that it's not an irrational fear for Poles or others to have when Russia threatens nuclear annihilation but rather to trust those threats.
  15. In the least surprising news of the day "But this year, racist conspiracy theorists didn’t meet any perceptible resistance at the conference where Donald Trump has been the keynote speaker since 2017. At the Young Republican mixer Friday evening, a group of Nazis who openly identified as national socialists mingled with mainstream conservative personalities, including some from Turning Point USA, and discussed so-called “race science” and antisemitic conspiracy theories."
  16. If the comments from last night weren't enough here's some snippets from today. Just a foul human being.
  17. "According to psychologist Dr. John Gartner, formerly of Johns Hopkins University Medical School, Donald Trump's slurring and inability to sometimes formulate complete sentences appears to be a sign of growing dementia and possibly early stages of Alzheimer’s." "Some examples of Trump’s non-words: Beneficiaries becomes 'benefishes.' Renovations become 'renoversh.' Pivotal became 'pivobal.' Obama became 'obamna.' Missiles became 'mishiz.' Christmas became 'Crissus.' Bipartisan became 'bipars.' This is a fundamental breakdown in the ability to use language. If you were talking to your father on the phone and he did this you would think he is having a stroke. There is no healthy older person who speaks that way."
  18. I suppose if you've been impeached and indicted as many times as he has it's possible to get confused easily. Just giving him the benefit of the doubt.
  19. They haven't had even finished off Ukraine yet and they're already saber rattling with Poland. "Do the Poles want to be next? They are not Ukrainians. We will not treat them like brothers. We'll bloody destroy all those cities in an instant, without using ground troops. It's Ukraine we feel sorry for, but there [in Poland] we'll fight like the Americans in Iraq. We will simply, I am not sure about nuclear strikes, but with missile strikes and air strikes, I am sure, we will just freaking destroy them. And we won't even think twice."
