At the rate we’re going there’s not going to be all that many guys on the roster that he actually played with.

I know high school tight ends don't always put up spectacular numbers but one would sure think that if he's an elite athlete they'd get him involved a little more than what they have.

Yea, I'd like to think that we have two decent-good guards between Nouilli, Piper, Corcoran, and Lutovsky. We would just need to find another serviceable tackle, Hopefully a healthy Teddy Prochazka can be that guy.

But what would it hurt to let him on for spring? If his head is in it, he's probably one of the top WR. If not he can transfer after spring ball and he'll be back in shape. It's kind of a win for both parties I'd think.

Yep it seems like a low risk high reward as I don't really see what we have to lose. Even if he joins the team through spring and they don't think he's a good fit it will likely put him in a better spot to transfer somewhere else. I think he would have a really good shot at being the #1 or #2 outside receiver.

Sam McKewon was hinting on the radio this morning that Zavier Betts could be potentially returning. No doubt he's very talented and it's been stated by the coaches it's one of the biggest positions of need. It be a remarkable story if he would come back and turn it around.

I don't follow the wrestling team super close so I may be incorrect but I believe he's basically ducking Yianni Diakomihalis. The top of the 149lb division is loaded with seniors and Yianni is basically unbeatable so I really can't blame Ridge but it does suck because he would certainly be one of the top guys in his class giving us a chance at a good team finish. Essentially taking the year off to work on his game and take a crack at being a two-time NCAA champ.

This would be an absolutely monster get. He obviously has plenty of suitors but he's from Maryland so hopefully Rhule's connections to the northeast help us. As I've said before, if you can upgrade one spot on the line, you have the potential to actually upgrade two or even three spots at once. A legit left tackle and you could put Teddy at RT and then Corcoran could focus on playing one of the guard spots.

Yea.. And if you had a chance to watch the games you’d know the two guys playing behind him are gone. So like him or not I’m guessing he’s the next best we have and it’s probably not particularly close.

He absolutely was the most important guy to keep happy, glad they made him a priority. Reimer and Heinrich are 2a and 2b in my opinion.

I will admit I'm no expert on schemes. I believe in a 3-3-5 defense you typically use either a 3-3 front that features three "true defensive lineman". Or you may see a 2-4 personel that features two "true defensive lineman" and two DE/OLB hybrid players that often play in a stand up position, which I assume is our "edge" position. That may be where there is quite a bit of flexibility. Maybe a guy like Gunnerson could be big enough to play as a down lineman in this defense I'm not really sure.

If you don’t understand that they play a different position I don’t know what to tell you.

Ok so let's clarify one more time... In the spring we will have DL- Robinson, Hutmacher, Wynn (maybe), Buckley, Juedy, Herbeck, so again, we (maybe) have 6 guys at a position where you presumably need multiple guys at a time including one guy I've never heard of. Please tell me where I'm incorrect.

How was it incorrect other than I forgot Buckley?

I am not really concerned about numbers at the EDGE position. It's the "down or interior" guys whatever you want to call it where we're razor thin. Van Poppel and Carroll-Jackson won't be here in the spring.

No s#!t, I also included walk-ons for the DL. I am referencing bodies, not scholarships. As it sits now, if 1-2 DL get dinged during spring practice, we literally don't even have the bodies there for multiple units. Its ridiculous.
