You're always gonna be able to find a highly regarded coach that is willing to take your money.  You just gotta be willing to spend it

NU has turned into a revolving door.  only a lesser, unaccomplished young coach would take a chance with us.  Trev will have to roll the dice before year's end.

I think he hoped he could surprise NW (that’s not smart as NW is smartly coached, period).  I get the idea of grabbing another quick TD to get separation. And I think Frost knew by then we couldn’t run the ball and the QB CT was going to face a lot more pressure the rest of the game.  He needed quick short drive points because drives would be very hard. They were.  From then on.

He gambled, impulsively I think, and he lost.  If it worked, NU likely wins game but maybe not. No way to predict the offense.  The biggest issue that will keep this team from winning is the lack of a run attack.

yup, you can't win in the Big w/o a run game.

Maybe I'm out of my mind, but I can't imagine Joseph or Whipple coming here for a one and done season.  I would venture to guess both of those coaches will remain if/when Frost is shown the door.  It might be telling that Joseph is listed as the associate head coach.  I would guess Trev believes the offense will be in good hands with those two running the show.  He'll either leave it up to Joseph or assist Joseph in finding the coaches for the other side of the ball.

The subject I want to really discuss is conference alignment and where Nebraska fits into it.  Let's assume the B1G and the SEC get up to 20-30 teams.  At some point in time, there is going to be a day of reckoning.  Dead weight will have to be trimmed from the conference.  Nonperforming schools will more than likely be voted off the island.  Is volleyball enough to keep us in the B1G?  The further we fall, the more fans we lose.  I can't think the media market in Lincoln and Omaha is large enough to keep us a spot at the table once the super conferences start trimming the fat.

agree, we are burning daylight with Frost.  need to act swiftly, excuse show is over.

the Trev experiment can't last a whole season.

The team culture under Frost has just been splendid, hasn't it?

Imagine our record if we weren't cheating.

maybe we need a character recruiter?  can't seem to do very well without one.

OT play will definitely have an impact but to me ST is the wild card.  Good ST play can really make up for a lot of deficiencies in all other facets of the game.  I believe we will be an 8 or 9 win team with good special teams play.  A 6 or 7 win team with average play and a >6 win team if they perform poorly.

not expecting ST to go from worst to first.  just average would be a big help.

    Competition level > Overall Record

We are competing against everyone now. No one blows us out. Forget the win/loss total. This was always going to be a full culture change taking at minimum 4-5 years to solve the major issues (Strength and Culture). We are behind schedule due to a thrown together 2018 class that all but left. We are also behind due to paying zero attention to Special Teams, which has now been addressed. We have turned the corner with a well known coaching staff and addressed all issues from past years.   Our team will finally have an offensive line with experience and the talent to protect the QB, allowing for more downfield passing and less running QB injuries.

Still predicting 10-2 with healthy starters

I read another quote that said Oliver Martin was 'playing at a high level'.  It's great that he's having a good spring but honestly I'll believe quotes like that when I see it.  Let's hopefully see that 'high level'

    once the season begins.

he probably has the best hands of our receivers.

I guess I'd like to believe it's not actually an ACL - as was reported - unless he's being extremely vague.  Perhaps something less-severe that they're hoping he'll be back by fall???

    2nd time, same knee,  caution!!
