  1. Was just about to post about adding g this kid to my list. He's a stud. If we don't get/offer blue, then this kid is a great consolation prize.
  2. I agree Pittman has lots of talent...if we're going to take a wr it needs to be a slam dunk sure thing. We need a touré not a falck. I'm sure Pittman is closer to touré than falck, but I know blue is...that's the difference. I wouldn't be angry with Pittman...I just think the only plug and play right now is blue...we have a deep, young wr core
  3. WR wish list: I have one...as I think we have a good room and lots of young talent there. We need a touré type guy...and there's only one currently out there. Jadan Blue-Temple 169 catches 1672 yards, 10 tds. Track guy, lightly recruited out of HS due to playing only 1 year...dudes electric and can take the top off the defense...like touré but perhaps faster....this is the only play here, imo.
  4. Wish list RBs: 1. Marcel Murray-Ark st. Nearly 2000 rushing 5ypc, productive when healthy. Had an ankle injury and now looking for a place for his final season. Dudes a stud when healthy. 2. Hassan hall-louisville All purpose back, great returner 4.4 speed. All acc back. 3. Brock Sturgis-Texas St Former butler county kid. I like his game. 4.5 forty kid. Has played a lot of ball, he'd fit the system currently 4. Jalen Berger-wisc Name recognition. Wisky retred...but a good one. We have Yant and stepp currently or he'd be higher. 5. Rico Frye-BG Really like this kid. Reminds me of ozigbo. He's compact and shifty...runs over dbs and arm tackles won't do it. Typical shifty small back with some punch. Won't run away from many tho. 3 year of eligibility is a big plus too. Watch his high school tape and tell me you wouldn't love this kid in scarlet & cream.
  5. My wish list for transfer portal qbs are...in order: Charlie Brewer-Utah Jarren Williams-USF Myles Brennan-LSU Any of these 3 would be an upgrade and bring experience. Brewer has thrown for over 10000 yards, nearly 70 tds has another 1000+ rushing and 22 tds on the ground. He'd be a day 1 starter, with a year left. Williams started for the U in 2019. Threw for over 2000 yards and 19 tds. He'd bring past baggage though it seems to be in the past. With 2 years of eligibility, I believe. Either one of the first two would be homeruns, imo Brennan brings name recognition...hasn't played nearly as much as Brewer and doesn't have near the upside of Williams. Has 1 year of eligibility. He'd be a solid extra base-hit. Not a homerun.
  6. Id gladly take iowas record over the last 10-15 years instead of ours. Probably shouldn't throw shade at a program that is head and shoulders better than us at nut cutting time.
  7. That really wasn't the issue. Our defensive rotation was nuts. We switched everything...all night. No adjustment there, it seemed...when you do that, and teams drive it collapses the rotating D...then they swung the ball and our help the help D was way out of position. Tenn st moved the ball well, we owe them that much. If we would have fought over screens or only switched guard to guard or just tried anything else, perhaps it would have been a different show. Alas, it wasn't. Tenn st played their best game and lost. We played our worst defensive game and won. How long has it been since we've had the talent to play so poor defensively and win? They'll get better on D, doc is there and he gets sh!t done a majority of the time on D.
  8. Anyone else find it odd that Edwards starts now since trey is hurt...and he plays 4 or 5 minutes, gets subbed out and we never see him again? Then he starts the 2nd half...and same thing! What's the point in starting a guy if you don't trust him to play more than 10 minutes a game? Super random, but odd nonetheless.
  9. While I don't disagree with you...this comment is coming after verge had a double-double points and assists...and carried us offensively for the last 10 minutes of the game. Typical verge has been a ball stopper. Last night verge, was a straight playmaker/facilitator. I'll take more of that.
  10. Tonight we got good verge...and we needed all of it! Here's hoping we get more of that from him thus year. When you haven't won much, you better take the ugly wins too...we can learn from this type of win. GBR
  11. We beat Rutgers last year...why would you want to go back to last year? Seems odd.
  12. Glad we shared the ball more. No more of the 1 step forward, 2 steps back thing now.
  13. I'm feeling a close one. 5-7 points. We're younger and haven't played together much yet. They're all back from last year. And they rebound.. and play with a slow pace. Those have been two huge warts for us...the glass and opponents dictating pace. We'll have more individual talent, but might not be the best looking team on the floor. GBR Cheers
  14. I'd love to see Neville, grimes and Nixon stay until they graduate. It'll be an interesting next 4-6 weeks, even though we're not bowling.
  15. Wrs are weird sometimes. Guys that thought they should be playing this year might be butthurt and leave, regardless of potential pt next year. I didn't put names down, but I won't be surprised if a Neville or grimes or someone who didn't play this year bolts. New position coach too.
  16. Toure is a sr. Martin is a Jr. I didn't put any seniors in, because they're gone anyway. Just a list of potential unexpected exits.
  17. Who's gone IMO (numerical order): Adrian Martinez CTB Austin Allen Scott Morrison (obviously) Stepp Cerni Benhart Bando Lynn Wildeman Daniels Could even see smothers leave when we get a portal qb. I've got ctb, Allen and Daniels going pro leaving early. I see 3ish OL leaving. Interchange names if you wish, but I'd say benhart is a for sure. Wildeman seems destined to leave. RBs are a dumpster fire, probably time to hit reset there anyway. Didn't put a WR in, but could see 1 or 2 bolt. Cheers.
  18. When things are going good, everything looks good. When its nut cutting time and things are a little dicey, players fall back on habits. Habits are hard to break. Verge won't be fixed this year. He can ball, I'm not overall bashing the kids talents, but he's not a match for this teams desired style of play. That's not on him, that's on hoiberg for not learning from the Teddy Allen mistake.
  19. Verge is Teddy Allen 2.0. The ball sticks and we are not nearly as good with him in control. I love hoiberg, and he knows more about basketball than I ever will...but I'll never understand him bringing in guys like that when he wants free flowing offense with ball/player movement. Certainly a head scratcher. If we hang on to verge playing a ton as long as we did teddy...we're in for another long season. If he's regulated to 10 minutes a game or less, we'll be fine.
  20. Maybe I am a little different, but I don't really have a preference as to what "scheme" we bring in with out new OC.. within reason. I don't want an air raid or a wishbone, but beyond that, I don't think that matters as much. To me, the most important trait a quality OC has is the ability to adapt your scheme to the players that you have. That has been an issue, on and off, since Callahan. That's one reason why I am not for a massive change in philosophy. My needs assessment rankings would be: 1. Play caller 2. Game flow adapter 3. Skill recognition/development 4. Good communication 5. Innovative/Creative 6. Ability to break tendencies 7. Be balanced...and understand balanced is a relative term.
  21. Negative nearly 3 football fields in hidden yardage never helps. -204 in special teams is less than ideal. I don't think the chart is giving us new information...just a nifty chart. We're above average on O and D. We are significantly below average in STs (hidden yardage goes with this, not all on STs tho). #2025nationalchamps
