  1. A positive discovery: Read this thread. Looks like we've learned a few things about the Huskers since this thread after the Illinois game. This whole thread was about how crappy we are and how we're likely to be underdogs in the Buffalo game and not that big of favorite in the Fordham game. Both were blowouts by us. Now we head to Norman heavy underdogs (23 points or so). I feel that it's possible we don't let Oklahoma cover that spread, going by what we've learned since the Illinois game.
  2. One more year only if he delivers measurable improvement this season a-la five wins and some close losses and more semblance of an upward swing, such as average penalties per game or lower and the same with turnovers. This to show that he’s coaching toward true goals instead of "guessing" (as he famously said last week). Then, next year, six wins and a bowl win. Up from there. otherwise, we’ve seen this all before and need to get a coaching staff worthy of other than success in lower tier conferences.
  3. If I see any big red babies there I'll post pics.
  4. Welp... uh... lawd help us... uh...... Huskers 17 (we make the field goal) Sooners 38 (they make theirs) Rushing 212 Passing 186
  5. "Could not" is a statement about our lack of abilities. "Did not" is the result of those lack of abilities. Mild disagreement, but I get your point too. I fear for the entire season because of what appears to be our lack of abilities.
  6. Sadly that kind of.. you know.. says it all.
  7. Yeah. I'm hoping Scott Frost will be able to impart some of the real feel of those days and that one game to the players.. perhaps with some film.
  8. Dude, we could not beat Illinois on the road. Yeah we've won two pillow fights since then and some are calling it "improvement," "growth," etc. But... let's be real.. we need some luck to be in this game much at all.
  9. Husker players now don't understand ("feel") that rivalry any more than they understand much of anything that was going on before they were born. I'm sure they've been reading about it and that some are intrigued a bit; perhaps it'll add a bit of juice to their efforts.
  10. In Norman this coming Saturday it'll be a mistake prone team on the road against a team at home with the kind of confidence their opponent used to have, long forgotten by all but the Head Coach and older fans.
  11. On the game today I learned that we've got a lot of the same old problems. On the season I've learned that we can win two pillow fights in a row.
  12. Honestly, we could have been so bad that both this game and Chevyham or whatever it was could have been stuggles.. as it was only the first quarter or so and we got on track against two lower tier programs: Mejor que nada. We could well be 0-3 this season if we were as bad as some of us opine. As it is, we'll likely get at least one more win and maybe even a surprise win at some point.
  13. That many NCAA officials are LOST out there.
  14. Yes, and I dare say I've seen all manner of beer being held and guzzled by folks right out near the intersection by gate 2 where a lot of tickets are hawked. Cops nearly always there and as long as everything is peaceful you won't get their attention.
  15. Huskers: 24 Bulls: 28 Huskers' passing 235 Huskers' running 210
  16. Yeah I got paper (little ones) in the mail. Not the real nice booklet version, understandibly. Not going to Buffalo game .. seeing real low prices so just going to (figuratively) eat them. Well, maybe not figuratively. What the heck.
  17. That's the way I see it. There's a "hope" score: 32 - 17 Huskers win, and there's a "ummm...are we sure?" score: 28 - 21 (or so) either team winning.
  18. It looked like that throughout most of the game, after they got going. They did good. Bigger challenges ahead (obviously), and to look at Buffalo as a sure win might be a mistake.
  19. My heart goes out to that daughter and to that woman.
  20. In a nutshell, the whole thing right there.
  21. Not sure but I think HuskerBoard likes that.
  22. Might depend on what kind of win. A struggle to win against Fordham would have a lot of grumbling and truth be told would put an exclamation point on what is being said about many losses we've had, including Illinois. A blowout is needed.
  23. Citing, "strain on the sensibilities and emotions of the great people of the State of Nebraska," recently hired Athletic Director Trev Alberts has indicated that the football program will play its last game against Fordham University on September 4th, pointing out that to end football in Nebraska with a "likely win" would be a worthwhile gamble. "Season ticket monies already in the Nebraska coffers will be spread out evenly along the banks of the Keya Paha River, where it's mulching properties will do the most good," he added.
