  1. While we're on the list of Reagan's effects let's not forget that he and Jerry Falwell Sr. successfully co-opted the white religious imagination of America into serving right-wing interests with the genesis of the Moral Majority™‬  which we all know as being very cool and helpful and healthy for our country.

That last tweet is the least surprising thing I could imagine. All of the Palestinians alive today either lived or have recent family memories of living in that land alone and unoccupied, and have seen nothing other than their families being displaced and squeezed and denied movement and autonomy.

That's like polling Native Americans in the mid 1800s on what they would prefer between sharing the United States with the Americans or having it all to themselves. Like, no s#!t.

Pure speculation on whether that happens, but this could be the start of opening that door.

Newsom would probably garner votes from younger Ds or Independents...but probably not from many right of center given the media coverage on the woes in California, deserved or not.

Across the board, nobody is stealing MAGA votes in any big way, but if there's anyone who could actually make a dent it's probably Newsome. Dude is entirely fearless and more than glad to jump into the right wing media ecosystem (and usually to the result of something like going on Hannity and all of Hannity's youtube followers commenting, 'I love Sean but Gavin absolutely schooled him this time'), oozes charisma and is next to impossible to pin down with a 'gotcha' or soundbyte argument.

I've learned to never trust anyone that charismatic in a position of power but he's about as good as we've seen in terms of speaking, confidence and likability.

Interesting case and I feel very bad for the guy on trial.

I feel bad in terms of it being a sad situation and you never want to see someone possibly throw their life away in a moment, even unintentionally, but according to the DA, his own testimony says he, "...recognized that Neely wasn’t armed and hadn’t touched anyone, but said he intervened after Neely’s tirade because he considered it threatening", which...well, that seems tantamount to an admission of guilt. Also seems to paint the facts a long ways away from the conjecture-based editorialization of the tweet you shared.

    Yes, every single chunk play.

    1. I didn't say every single

    2. I already addressed this. The play you're referencing is an option pass, which worked because the defense bit on the threat of the qb run on the option, which is part of what I was specifically referring to with the qb run game being "responsible for almost every single big chunk play we've had all season".

Very clearly and intentionally did not say that every play came on qb runs. Awesome play though.

Because he was better than what we have this year.

I think in a hypothetical world with Casey still here, we'd have a handful less turnovers, some amount more passing production more than offset by a greater loss in rushing production, and he'd miss at least 4-5 games being hurt and maybe we get one more win that we left on the table. Based off nothing other than my own intuition, I think this year's offense was more or less doomed to be mediocre and then was fated into all-time-bad status with injuries no matter what.

Well we've actually had a few long throws (a couple of them TD's) this season that got drives going, kept them going, or finished them off.

And most of them were off option passes after we'd established the option and qb run game and defenses bit.

We would add some amount of better passing production with Thompson, but how much considering the state of our receiver room?

  8. 15 minutes ago, BigRedBuster said:

I would be so happy to have Thompson back right now.

I don't really get this. Maybe people are seeing something I'm not, but our offense all season has pretty much only worked with the qb run game or threat of the qb run game. It's responsible for almost every single big chunk play we've had all season, so without it, I don't see how our offense would be moving the ball at all.

Quite frankly, also I’m tired of talking about a QB’s rushing stats too until the core competency of throwing passes is up to a college P5 upper half level first.

I think it's being brought up because what the hell would this offense be doing without a homerun deep threat receiver for Casey and without a quarterback run game?

The latter is more or less the only way we ever get chunk plays this season.

Every time an offense has struggled under Callahan, under Pleini, under Solich, Frost, and even Riley. The coordinator had gone back, simplified the offense, identified the plays that worked best, prioritized those plays, developed a system around those plays and and boom, like magic the offense got better.

Why didn't Syracuse say that about white? They were disappointed about him leaving and had nothing but great things to say about him.

He also had rattler last year and his offenses weren't the greatest. All the problems he had at South Carolina he's having here. When most of your fanbase is wanting you to leave then that's saying something.

It is saying something, but more often than not what it's saying is that the fans don't know what they're talking about.

Who's a high profile offensive coordinator that a fanbase thinks is great?

i dunno what to tell u man, 11 am CST on peacock is the worst slot for the big ten.  I was simply saying, i cant wait to be relevant again so we'll be on FS1 at worst down the stretch, that is all.  Ill still tune in tomorrow but guarantee not every husker fan will if they dont have access :dunno

Except you simply said more than that.

Not only will being back in the top 25 get us back to bowl games, better players and games only at night/afternoon- it'll also help ensure we're not playing on a stream only service in the morning.

You gotta at least agree somewhat tho- if rhule gets us back to consisten 9-3/10-2 seasons we're back on fox/fs1/nbc guaranteed.

All of this is wrong and it's okay for you to just take the L and move on. Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State (amongst others) all had games exclusively on Peacock this year, as well as plenty of noon est/11 central kickoffs. Expect this to continue, where almost every team in the league has one game per season exclusively on Peacock. This has nothing to do with us sucking.

Also for those of you unwilling to pay the $6 or go to a bar or a friend's house, if you still want to watch the game it's remarkably easy to find ways to do so. Can't promote them on the board but send me a PM.

The fun part is that none of these teams can sleep on the rest of the league. There's great talent top to bottom.

This, aside from the Warriors run and the *how* behind it, is the only thing still keeping me interested in the league. I can't recall either through memory or knowledge of the game before me any time where there is just so much talent permeating every corner - it's crazy how good everyone is these days.

    That is clearly not blackface.

This sort of horsecrap pisses me off because it only devalues real racist incidents that actually do occur, and gives fuel to people who like to pretend that racism isn't prevalent.

Same accusations came out against the Covington Catholic boys after that dust up at the capitol, and then someone found a photo of their student section during the blackout game. Some terminally online people just need things to be upset over and unfortunately it sometimes bleeds into real life.

Have you discovered a subject that middle school boys can't destroy?

Edited to add:  ah. I'm not the first one to make this clever observation.

Even as someone who grew up to be a full-time artist, I was guilty of engaging in this behavior. There's nothing quite like the way that middle school boys can specifically make music instructors sob.
