  1. Well, it's happening. There is no excuse for 4 years of this s#!t. Enjoy your free time on game days.
  2. They played em close. No blowouts this year!
  3. I love this team. It is heartbreaking to see that it is worse than it was 4 years ago.
  4. Talk is cheap. Let's see where people stand.
  5. We didn't learn a thing from the Minnesota game that we knew already and for some time.
  6. Hmmm. That's not making me feel good about it either. The person in the article felt it was definitive. That is very very interesting that back then that he couldn't say "No, he will be back next year." Things were probably being set up just in case.
  7. I feel like with the all reds, the jerseys and pants don't quite match. It bugs me. All white is where it's at though. That should be the norm.
  8. It's possible but I don't remember that and don't believe any AD coming into this situation would commit to something like that.
  9. I agree, Frost's body language is just getting worse. He can ride off into the sunset and not want for anything the rest of his life but his assistants still need those paychecks. If we've learned anything about Frost, he is loyal to a fault.
  10. Thats true. But anyone thinking it means Frost is staying is delusional. We are at a point where each side is only seeing/hearing what they want. What Trev said also doesn't mean that Frost is gone either. He simply punted the decision. It was a smart NON COMMITTAL move. If I had to venture a guess...Trev is hoping one of 2 things happen, the feelers he has orchestrated to potential replacements get a bite and talks heat up. OR Frost gets to 6 wins. Either of these would make Trev's job very very easy. Until then? Punt to the end of the season, which any AD should, and see what happens.
  11. Trev could have said "Frost will be back in 2022" It would have been easy. Just one single sentence. He did not. Frost needs to win. The things Trev said, he would also say if Frost got fired, that he was proud of him and enjoyed working alongside him. He is protecting the program. No coach would ever come here if the AD wasn't supportive and that is what Trev is doing. He is supporting Scott. This is appealing to coaches. If Scott rattles off some wins, then Trev can announce the day after a win that Scott is staying. If Scott doesn't win? Expect more supportive messaging like this.
  12. We can't beat the teams we out recruit, what do people think is going to happen when those teams start out recruiting us? The small class size holds no water. Look at our average recruit rating. If we keep Frost and he only wins 1 or 2 more games then this class is toast. Arguably worse off than a transition class with a new coach. To anyone preaching of the transfer portal, that is a two way street. We have guys that could contribute to talented teams. After a few years of losing records, the grass is going to look awfully greener on the other side. Frost needs to get to 6 wins to demonstrate there is improvement. Another losing season is just poison in any recruit's living room. Why commit to a coach that won't be around much longer or commit to a coach who hasn't had a winning season in 4 years at a school?
  13. He beat the teams of lesser talent. When I look at his losses. Early on, we may have had more raw talent and lost to more experienced teams but we took care of business. The issue was our talent graduated for the most part after 2001. We didn't have the coaching to coach around our lack of talent. It sure was nice beating the teams we were supposed to beat.
  14. You misunderstand me. Due to the situation, money has been lined up, in the event he doesn't win enough games the rest of the way.
  15. They have the money lined up to buy him out. Frost has to win some games to return. He has no one else to blame but himself for being in this situation.
  16. That is just recruiting. There very well could be a lot of players, who could start on quality teams, who say "goodbye" That scenario plus the bottoming out of recruiting makes keeping Frost a huge gamble. At this point, I believe it is a much bigger gamble to keep him than hire a competent coach. The stakes are just too high.
  17. Please don't compare us to those schools. Seeing our performance the last 4 years is embarrassing enough. Don't rub salt in it.
  18. It is funny that people look at those stats gathered but think the team is improving. Well no s#!t they are improving, look at those dumpster fires of stats. A coach would accidentally improve by this point.
  19. You're saying if we lose out the rest of the way, he should still get the opportunity to make coaching changes?
  20. You are gambling that players won't jump ship. Something that is going to happen, we just don't know to what extent. Players have the option to leave now for whatever reason. Depending on how this season ends we could lose a few or have a mass Exodus. Would you want to stay at a school with the stats listed in that tweet? These guys are talented enough to contribute to much better teams. That plus our current state of recruiting means if we keep Frost and it doesn't work out. The next coach is going to walk into a situation much worse than Frost did when he came here. That is a helluva gamble.
  21. Next year is a weaker schedule. Our current recruiting class is a disaster. If there is ever a time to bring in someone, you'd do it for next year when they can win at least 6 and turn recruiting around for this class. Why would you waste next year on someone you deep down know isn't going to work?
  22. Again, please consider this. If it takes 4 years for a coach to recognize the stagnation or regression of one area under an assistant coach, let alone multiple areas, should that man really be a HC? On top of that, do we honestly think Frost is going to make those changes or agree with them? He is going to need the AD to step in and force those changes. Acknowledging Frost isn't the answer and knowing we gave 4 full years of losing seasons, a lot more than we have given any other coach, and a LOT more than any other blue blood program has ever given coach, doesn't mean Frost is a bad guy and we don't like him. His status as a Husker Legend, a hard nosed player that helped win us a championship, will not change. It doesn't make us bad people nor fans to step back and say "I love the guy as a Husker, but it's time to try something else." He has been given a longer leash than anyone we have all seen at a blue blood program. We have given him more of a chance out of respect for what he achieved as a player. Finally, out of safety for future jobs, protecting his assistants who do not make nearly as much as him, I am starting to wonder if Frost even wants to be here anymore. I couldn't blame him if he doesn't. He would never admit it, but there is a lot of behavior there we have seen with other coaches who were mentally done. At some point, if we really like Frost, we need to pull the cord as another year with 6 wins followed by more losing seasons is going to damage his reputation beyond repair and make it impossible for him to ever be a HC again at somewhere else. If we really like Frost but he is mentally done and the losses, talking to the media, etc are causing him mental, emotional, and physical duress...why do we want to continue to do that to him? Ask yourself, if we fired Frost, but Frost still wanted to be a HC, what AD in the top division would hire him and explain to the fans and boosters that it was a good idea?
  23. Yea, but there is a reason they are successful coaches and ours isn't.
  24. Oh are they? I will give you a little tip. They signed those checks then...and now they are seeing what they paid for.
  25. The issues we see this year, we saw in year 1, 2, and 3. Think about this carefully. If a coach is unable to see or address these glaring issues the first 4 years, making them change their staff is not going to fix the core issue. He should have saw to these changes YEARS ago. One last thing. Do you trust a guy who decides to forego a dedicated special teams coach? Look at what happened. All of this special teams disaster...with the same kicker that was All Big 10 last year, is a self inflicted wound. It is gross incompetence.
