  1. Sincerely hoping that Arik receives (and accepts) the help that he needs. Ultimately his welfare is more important than his athletic aspirations. He’s got to get that squared away first and foremost well onto a better path. It’s irrational, reckless behavior on his part. He can’t be allowed to affect his teammates. The potential distraction alone justifies his not participating. It doesn’t demonstrate having the values of a healthy culture. Yes, absolutely everyone has their own unique challenges. One can empathize while drawing the line and being firm about not crossing it. He’s young and has so much life left ahead of him. Arik can overcome this. At this juncture, that’s what his focus myst be on.
  2. A prank would be someone loading the pop machine with a couple of beers and someone left holding a can of it attempting to explain the predicament!
  3. There have been those that have claimed the same after being stopped having consumed a 147 oz. beer. “I made a mistake”…
  4. I went from anxiously awaiting a potential waiver to relieved that he hadn’t gotten one. Such a waste…Get your life straightened out young man.
  5. I’d guess that enough time and resources has been invested in him that could’ve been given to someone else and he’s off the team. Perhaps not. I feel badly though it was his choice. We want assets for the team not liabilities.
  6. Answered the question for himself…smh
  7. Two touchdowns, one going for two and field goal. Then we get additional touchdown!
  8. 25-23 Huskers Nebraska successfully limits Minnesota's passing, does a decent job limiting their rushing and is able to sustain drives keeping the game close. Minnesota is driving past the NU 50 yard line very late in the fourth leading 23-18. The Huskers force a turnover and advance the ball near the Gofer 35. With less than a minute remaining, Nebraska scores a touchdown and wins 25-23.
  9. Minnesota: 23 Nebraska: 18 Rushing: 121 Passing: 155
  10. Heat-seeking missile (Singleton) with some similarities to Jack "The Assassin" Tatum perhaps!
  11. DeShon Singleton has been putting it all together and is set to have a really good season.
  12. As much as I wanted Whipple to succeed, his scheme hurt our cause quite a bit rushing the ball in my opinion. Our base running game wasn't particularly good. Grant was leaned on heavily and it eventually took it's toll in the later stages of the season. Add in the ball security issues. For whatever reason(s), Johnson was limited. Irvin has pretty impressive athletic ability. He's just lacked experience mostly due to injury. He's potentially the most dynamic if he can put it all together. It sounds like Emit Johnson is doing some nice things. How much has the pass blocking improved? That's a significant factor too. That lack of a deep threat hurts and will require some creativity to compensate for it. With improved line play, development of the backs, adjustments to scheme and other complementary factors including strength and conditioning aspects, a fairly significant increase in production is a realistic expectation. We ranked 11th in rushing in the conference correct? Let's say we can move that up to around 7th. The line's performance remains a big question. I'm confident that Barthel will get the best out of these guys. And, hopefully Satterfield, without being overly sophisticated, puts forth an offense that is more suited to the conference than anyone since Pelini. As is true with receivers, good backs know how to make their speed variable. In each play and throughout the game. Patience has to be developed along with understanding the plays, observing them quickly and effectively reacting. Perhaps incorporating different looks with multiple back combinations helps us. Heck, if IGC can secure the ball and learn to negotiate a path, hand off the ball to him if the right situation presents itself. It seems Rhule wants to implement speed and quickness with an abundance of physicality and be active around the line of scrimmage.
  13. We've been taking a beating for what seems like an eternity. Lol Like Jon Johnson's said, it's like an abusive relationship.
  14. Sounds like you’re looking forward to the game! There’s been so many rough moments for so long! Normally I compose myself though that opener against Illinois a couple years back got the best of me. It was as both infuriating and disheartening. Lots of us have struggled along with you…Is it a ridiculous idea to make every game an opportunity to practice exercising poise? A lot of hearts would probably be appreciative of it!
  15. Following up to that previous opening loss to Illinois. Absolutely terrible. In both those games we played pretty tight it seemed to me. Cohesiveness has been lacking. Team chemistry has been given a lot of attention. We're going to see a group hustling together with improved focus. Set a tone and then just continue to make it "louder". And out of that, eventually an identity takes shape which has been absent for some time now. What "1% Better" daily represents is discovering one's BEST on a continuum and how that translates into the team collectively experiencing successes.
  16. That was an awful one...Gut punch right out of the gate to begin the season. Agonizing.
  17. You should face being banned or, at least suspended for uttering such a thing around here!
  18. It seems like it's been forever. Play solid defense, take the ball away, generate time of possession, minimize errors, win field position battles with special teams and kicking. We've got to have a reliable rushing game. Adequate rest and diaphragmatic breathing should help to aid in managing your allostatic load. Limit sugary drinks if ya can. Take comfort knowing that these guys are going to hustle and get after it every series. A winning culture accounts for a lot. There isn't gonna be any "ho hum" attitude! Also, with improved in game adjustments, that's bound to assist in our cause.
  19. One of my favorite parts was book reading time. And, the importance of second and third team players. #Ready
  20. Shedeur is going to be forced out of the game early in the third and we're going to run the ball down their throats when we're not exploiting their defensive backs. One's gotta consider the sunglasses advantage careful not to underestimate that. Big shinny one's could potentially interfere with Sims, receivers seeing the ball and special teams players advancing the ball effectively.
