  1. C'Mon Purdy & Co let's drive this sucker into the endzone
  2. Nebraska 15 Iowa 13 Passing 107 Rushing 186
  3. One more year? Tony's taking the Nebraska job once Rhule's deal with A&M is finalized! Coach Sanders could still come into play and mess that all up though...
  4. Elko would be my guess if the Rhule deal falls through (Ha). Uban says he's happy with what he's doing now, no longer has an interest in coaching.
  5. Been a conspiracy from the get go. He's accepting the offer! And Tony White is going to be our next HC!!!
  6. Rhule accepted the position referencing the various commitments here. I'd say he's saying go to a place having a similar commitment as Nebraska does.
  7. Jeff Sims was fairly highly regarded coming out of high school. It seems that about a half dozen programs were interested in him. It's possible that he just couldn't transition to the next level and/or there's other contributing factors. While it's possible that these issues might be able to be corrected, it's possible too that's simply not the case. It might've been an oversight on Rhule's part. He wasn't the only one that seen potential however inaccurate the estimation may have been. What to do? Apologize for the decision of bringing in someone not "up to the task" and that it was foolish to ever consider him... Both the coaches and the player had the intention of succeeding and, indications are that the young man in a fine human being. It just hasn't worked out as anticipated. Perhaps an alternative arrangement where another staff member coaches the QB's addresses some of this. There was reasoning behind bringing Sims in and Casey Thompson wasn't forced out. In hindsight, Thompson remaining might've been the better route to go. It's best that they all continue to focus on improving and achieving their personal and collective objectives.
  8. Your last "boss" didn't exactly set good examples of work ethic or, fostering a winning culture! And, more often than not the "leadership" above him hasn't been conductive to turning the ship around. For a very long time.
  9. After a broken collarbone there was a surgery to remove hardware related to the surgery. Then it seems there was an incident where he might've taken a hit that affected his thoracic spine and ribs I believe. There was some rehab involved as I remember. I can't say for certain only that I recall him discussing it briefly. Think he might've still been recovering from it or, had recently recovered from hit upon arriving here and there was still a bit of residual issues he was dealing with, possibly. It caught my attention as I have some issues with the thoracic area of my spine. Perhaps it was another player...Don't think so though. At any rate, he hasn't been a hundred percent for some time and I think that's probably affected his practicing and not being more involved.
  10. Really don't know what we learned other than Purdy played pretty darn well and, we still come up with ways to limit our success... Think it's sort of like "turtles all the way down" and infinite regress. There's been a series of staffs and teams stacked one upon another affecting all the subsequent ones. Change upon change resulting in fluid footing. It takes a great deal to reestablish a solid foundation or "tracks" to operate upon. Culture's a big part of it then one factors in all the various moving parts from scheme, language, players, etc, etc, it's like a steam locomotive being able to gather momentum. There isn't the amount of progress we want. It's all very frustrating. Yet, I do believe that there's been a lot of hard lifting going on that will eventually produce more and more of the outcomes that we're all wanting. Keep working with the soil, sowing the right seeds and providing everything they need that will produce productive yields!
  11. Been noticing that. For quite some time actually. Satterfield looks tired too. Sufficient sleep translates into better decision-making. Even a hammer "rests" before it strikes again. They've been busting their butts ever since they got here. Attempting to do too much is a real thing. Perhaps a little more downtime is in order. I don't think that the sky is falling as many do while, I do think that there are legitimate criticisms, areas that are needing to be improved upon. I suppose communications between coaches that have been working with others could have a little effect as well and, maybe being on an NFL sideline has differences with collage. Something I've been thinking about. At any rate, it's been a rough ride. We probably could've accomplished more and haven't.
  12. Coach White. I'd anticipated Tony would do well and he's exceeded that. Especially considering the change of defensive scheme. Even early on he had his unit playing well. He's a true gem. There's been a few lapses and games that were better than others though overall it's been a welcome surprise. The way he leads and relates so well with the players is extra special. The other contributing staff staff there is deserving of credit as well and there's quite a bit of talent on that side of the bal.
  13. The game is winnable! IF we don't give the ball away multiple times, can establish a decent ground game, use clock, minimize errors and, the defense plays soundly. Defensive score, even if it's a safety. Special teams limits their returns and gives the offense shorter fields to work with. Everything has to be better across the board to win either game.
