  1. A coach that’s worth consideration in my opinion if he'd be interested would be Jeff Grimes. Grimes has a wealth of experience. Knows the importance of having a strong 0-line. Has leadership credentials. He would fit Nebraska's culture. His scheme involves a great deal of physicality that would work well in the Big 10. He values disciplined play and would put emphasis on developing players. He'd bring some recruiting advantages in Texas and the south. It seems that he would be able to assemble a group of competent assistants. Plus, he's a humble, likable guy that relates well with people. Jeff is definitely one of the long shots for head coach though has a broad range of appealing qualities. I've been experiencing some technical challenges today...I'm sorry if I've made a duplicate entry somewhere here.
  2. If they were "preferences", out of 22 potentials it'd be something like this. It would be different taking into account their interest. Along with various credentials, one has to consider whether the person fits well with our culture. 1) Chris Petersen 2) Luke Fickell 3) Mark Stoops 4) Dave Aranda 5) Matt Rhule
  3. We know Mickey's a person having integrity. He expects a lot of his players. He challenges them. I'm leaning toward someone with head coaching experience. As a general rule. Doesn't mean there aren't/wouldn't be exceptions. How solid of a staff can the assistant assemble? Perhaps not having a group of friends one's loyal to is a positive. Given a situation. And he has the essential skill set. Like players, the assistants are challenged. There are expectations and accountability. As for anyone, if you're interested let them decide. Nothing ventured, nothing discovered! It's critical that we assert ourselves and get this right.
  4. There are so many possible scenarios. We really don't know who's interested or not. At least a few might entertain the idea. It's really difficult to know what the motivations are for different potential candidates. It might be someone hungry for a challenge that eventually comes on board. I'm a Joseph fan. I'm glad that he's here. Just the kind of person you want on your team. Does he want to be head coach? How well would he do? No reason for him not to be part of the discussion. He's given a lot to Nebraska. I'm grateful for his contributions. Nebraska is a good job. Are there challenges? Sure! No doubt about that. Some won't want to come here. So what. Others would. We love our football.
  5. Personally I like the guy. Perhaps the biggest question is does he want to come here (Only he could answer that). I don't see any reason to not have a discussion with him if he's open to it.

  7. It would come as no surprise if Joseph dismisses Chinander fairly swiftly. Maybe he gets one shot to adjust. Scott should've sent him packing.
  8. Shots were fired. I bullet came inches away from hitting a urinal. (Just kidding)
  9. That's certainly possible. Whomever the coach ultimately is, he really needs to assemble a solid group of competent assistants. We've seen this time and time again to various degrees. And we need to establish an identity that for the most part has been absent for a very long time.
  10. I like that Alberts is taking a measured approach and will be seeking input from a variety of sources. Reaching out to a coaches and other athletic professionals to gain precious insight is a smart move. A great "fit" for us entails many, many criteria. The candidate needs to have competencies in teaching, leading and organizational skills among others. Understands the cause and matches well with our culture. There's much to consider. Being a head coach isn't an easy role. Few perform it at a high level. Let's get back to playing fundamentally sound football and having potent offensive and defensive line play while being effective at player development across the board.
  11. We were on track to going from bad to worse. It’s a difficult position that few coaches are successful at. We had to interrupt the hemorrhaging. As it were one low after another was exceeded again and again. At least now we can begin to slowly get on a better trajectory however challenging it will be.
  12. There's the five day suspension he has yet for violations where he doesn't participate in coaching activities.
  13. 642 yards...to Georgia Southern. Is there any question!
  14. Got a ways to go there. Doing as well the defense is able to generate stops!
  15. And having strong offensive and defensive line play.
  16. Question. That coach Frost was to not participate in consecutive practices at some point during the season in relation to the violation issue and doesn't comply prior to being dismissed, would that mean that an interim or his replacement would then be required? Perhaps he will act in accordance during weeks with open dates yet...
  17. Wagon with one last wheel on just flew off and wobbled into the ditch.
