  1. they have been, it is been going for over 150 years and yeah the nation has been following college football religiously for 100 years, longer actually. The game represents the civil war, that is why it is so special to Americans.
  2. come on bro, no need to go there, mike rozier, how many can even say that name and know he was the best nebraska back of all time
  3. that is my point, we are in the low point that blue bloods must pull themselves out of or we are minnesota.
  4. 30 years- blue bloods do it for a century in college football minimum, Minnesota was just as dominant for a similar stretch, Yale was many times more dominant, legendary, etc... Nebraska has to be resurgent for us to actually be called a blue blood. We have to come back from this trough we are in and win a natty or we are definitely not a blue blood. Just sayin
  5. How does thinking we are blue bloods help our program when the rest of the country doesnt think we are blue bloods
  6. bro i am a cornhusker fan, just trying to get this toxic notion that we are blue bloods out of our heads or we are never going to have a decent team
  7. what happens in 10 years when Nebraska still is having 5-7 seasons, 20 seasons...still a blue blood. I don't think it is realist as a fan to consider my program a blue blood when it just had a good 30 year run is all I am saying. it leads to unrealistic expectations. We play at the level of Minnesota, our program is alot like Minnesota. Minnesota in 1970 would have been considered a blue blood and Nebraska not. just sayin competing for national titles, i think that is how a blue blood would define themselves
  8. michigan was national champs from 1901-1904 or something like that.
  9. Blueblood, IDK, we were team that had a good 30 year run. Look at Michigan they have been relevant for a century and quarter, alabama...century, Notre Dame...century. I think you really have to go through the different iterations of football and still be relevant to be called a blue blood. I mean if we dont come back on line in 10 Years you will have to be 50 years old to remember when Nebraska was decent. that doesnt scream blue blood to me...personally.
  10. hahahhahaha, cant believe you would think that...go huskers
  11. basically the same mode of choosing a champ until the bcs. 1994 Penn State should share a title with Nebraska imo
  12. those arent just ivy league natty's, those arent just ivy league HOF, and AAs lot more than Nebraska
  13. you just going to leave out the 1960 natty?
  14. Yale has 3 times AA, HOF and 19 national titles...are they a blue blood?
  15. minnesota has ap national championships. They were dominant for the same amount of time.
  16. Minnesota has like 5 or 6 nattys, they were dominant for basically the same length of time. We arent better than Minnesota, how are they not a blue blood?
  17. Minnesota has 6 nattys and no one calls them a blue blood
  18. I mean Nebraska was good for 25 years, does that make a blue blood program or did we just have a good run over 25 years ago. Nebraska was basically good from 71-97, there are some programs which have been relevant for well over a century. I often hear people on here say we are a blue blood program. I dont feel like we are. Lot of people arent even old enough to recall when Nebraska was a good program, we dont have national champioships like Michigan in 1895 or some such. I think it is more we had a good run. Do you think we are a blue blood program.
  19. do you mean registered sports entertainment like the NFL? The NFL is not a sport like the NCAA, it is registered as sports entertainment like professional wrestling. In that regard yes, but more for the ability to modify the outcome of a season, to put it bluntly, free of legal ramifications.
  20. money, bigger names means bigger. They will eventually get to the point where they are completely rigged like the nfl, that is why they will leave the ncaa. They are missing out on billions in wager money like the nfl receives. If you think the nfl is even remotely legit then i also have a bridge to sell you.
  21. I dont think you understand where this whole conference realignment is heading, these giant conferences I believe will leave the NCAA
  22. It is in the Big 10s interest that nebraska become a power again, do the conferences have any input into the transfer portal and can they coax an outcome with nil partnerships?
  23. If nebraska get mccord and flemming next year, nebraska will be tough. Mccord fits right into the nebraska style and a top receiver, nebraska hasnt had top receivers and qb in a long time. They will put a licking on colorado if this happens
  24. it goes back to the colorado thrashing in 2001 Why did they get rid of Bo, he was a great coach
  25. Ahhh! Nebraska and the good ole jet sweep. jet sweep, fake jet sweep
