  1. Don't forget he did a fine job nurturing Aaron Hernandez at Florida ........
  2. In November 2018 Baylor University introduced an initiative called "Give Light" targeting their alumni and current student families. February 2022 they had raised and received $ 1.1 billion. Their endowment is over $2 Billion which is in the same neighborhood as Nebraskas. As a side note Aranda signed a new contract earlier this year, I believe it is for 5 years but as you mentioned Aranda sees the world a bit differently that isn't money centric he takes a more cerebral approach, there was an article regarding him in ESPN which makes him probably better suited for under the radar Baylor where the alumni are happy with 8-4 year in and year out rather than the Briles approach of gifted athletes while turning a blind eye to the athletes character in hopes of being the wild card into the top 5 discussion. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/34426714/why-baylor-dave-aranda-unlike-college-football-coach-know BTW, my reference point comes from a Daughter on the Baylor campus from 2018 graduating this past May.
  3. Historical data tells us that that is a 16% increase step in the right direction PLUS the losses wouldn't be single digit agonizers we would know by halftime the inevitable outcome which is probably good for everyone's anxiety. That being said ...... Nah, NEXT!
  4. So his gift for being a native son is an additional $7.5M in his pocket ..... wonder if Trev was afraid just like the UCF 2017 season the crazy lightning would strike again only this time in the form of beating OU?
  5. Perhaps Scott's real career future is as the Spokesmodel for "Ignorance is Bliss" .... it ain't at the NCAA or NFL level as the HC
  6. "Frost tells fans, and his players, that "the talent is there, we just need to execute" Pelini said it too. Callahan said it... Riley probably made a comment like that also" From a credibility standpoint: Pelini was correct 71% of the time Callahan was correct 55% of the time Riley was correct 50% of the time AND Frost has been correct 34% of the time It's the landscape of sports both professional and semi pro (NCAA), here is so much money to be had it has created a knee jerk over reach based on 1 good season. Scott had a fluke year in 2017 at UCF with Jr's and Sr's that did not select UCF because of him. Take out the 2017 season from his resume and look at the other 6 seasons his driving the bus stays on the road and out of the ditch 37% (22-38) of the time, not a bad percentage if he is going door to door selling aluminum siding but not as the face, leader and visionary for a team that generated revenue via wins with a reputation like Nebraska.
  7. Georgia Southern - What did we Learn? That the 2017 UCF season was a complete fluke
  8. The Berkshire Hathaway, Union Pacific, Kiewit etc. etc ...... signage seems I don't know, a little lite
  9. Does 7-5 and a Bowl game regardless of the Bowl outcome bring him back and forgiven for the previous 5 years? Of the 7 I see North Dakota, GA Southern, Indiana, Rutgers, Purdue, Illinois and Minnesota as the most likely getting him to 22-35 after 6 seasons thanks to what I would call a dream BIG schedule this year with only 3 preseason ranked teams, 2 of those games are at home.
  10. TCU has a lot of Alumni-Boosters from multigenerational money that play AD at large with their checkbooks. I get the sense in Patterson's case he was drained emotionally by dealing with the boosters that know more football than Gary's resume shows what he actually knows.
  11. Meanwhile at the Frost household .....
  12. What has Kiffin ever done professionally beyond making comments to draw attention to himself? He completely got out coached and whipped by Baylor in the Sugar Bowl in every category with weeks to prepare. Seems we already have someone that doesn't fully prepare yet brings attention to our school on all forms of social media platforms with 1 exception, Kiffin CAN recruit and doesn't worry about the athletes character. Aranda is beginning his new contract this season and by all accounts his quiet personality (the anti-Kiffen personality) works well with for the most part under the radar Baylor. 13. If the schedule is not set in stone then let's find different opponents than (2021) 5-6 FCS North Dakota and (2021)3-9 Sunbelt Conference Georgia Southern. We have been told virtually every postgame "we are close" all season and have been trying to convince ourselves that single digit losses are somehow moral victories. Instead of participation wins against the FCS and the Sunbelt lets see honestly and objectively what and where we are as a program (even if the truth hurts). I for one say let's play someone more our size like someone out of the ACC such as NC State, Wake Forest or Clemson and/or an SEC school like Mississippi State, Arkansas or Tennessee. If we are going to play against a lesser conference then bring on the best let's play Cincinnati. We aren't going to be considered one of the top 5% of NCAA football programs nationally by beating smaller schools from lesser conferences. We can get there by standing toe to toe with someone our own size. Convince me a 40 point win against the Sunbelts second to worst team Georgia Southern instantly makes us ranked 8th or higher nationally .... Change My Mind
