    Have y’all considered a world where we don’t land a transfer QB and we are kicking off in Dublin with Smothers as our starter? I hadn’t until just now and made me reconsider all the F5’ing I’ve been doing this week.

    Exactly. He is an incredible ball player, but just couldn't execute to win games. I honestly wonder if it was a case of the yips or something - just a different guy when success was within reach (not necessarily under pressure - he performed well down by 2 scores needing to score to get back in a game, pulling away in the 1st half, etc)

    Yeah, but in these coaching hires, it's usually "X coach is leaving School A to go to School B". Not often you see the "X Coach is leaving School A" one day and then "X Coach is going to School B" the next.

    The only weird thing to me is, why resign? Why not just take a new job? Seems like a weird path to a new school.

    Ed O isn’t going anywhere. He’s basically on retainer for LSU so that they can keep him under wraps legally. You don’t think his name wouldn’t come up in any of these vacancies if he was available? A la Clay Helton?
